Well, where do I start?!? A few months back, I won a contest put on by TCS - a maintenance & service package for any 2 computers I own. About a week ago my laptop wouldn't let me log-in, along with a couple other problems that had been building up. So....... I brought my laptop in to TCS praying for a miracle, and that the repairs would cost less than $180..... OMG! The staff, Mr. & Mrs. Tolson along with their son Thomas, made me feel like one of the family! They listened to all the problems I was experiencing, walked me through the very short paperwork process, and gave me a fair estimate on the time it would take to fix any potential problems. My PC suddenly shutdown and wouldn't restart. I had a feeling it was the power supply but didn't have a way to test it. Todd told me to bring it in and he would check for free! He was friendly and nice, and confirmed it was the power supply. He saved me as most places wanted to charge me for a full diagnostic and get back to me 3 days later. Went to one of the local tech stores picked up what I needed, and installed it myself. And my PC is running great! read more

I took my PC to Tolson Computer Solutions roughly over a month ago. My PC was experiencing overheating and it was slowing down as I ran PC games or a guitar tab online. I explained this to Mr.Tolson as I believed he would be able to fix the issue or at least narrow down what is causing the issue. I left it there roughly a week and he said he was busy with contracts and other computers (which I didn't mind provided it didn't take a month or anything like that). They call me back not much later to say it is repaired. I get billed $180.00 and take it home. Go home start it up and the video is all blue green and red (messed up) I call them to let them know what is wrong and he tells me to come back and he will take a look. Go back, he takes out the Nvidia video card and says something like "youll need to replace the video card now it is done". Go home again, as i ran it for 15min or so running youtube and a guitar tab it started going slow and turning off (exactly like it was before I took it to him). Call and go back again, he has me watch him run a few tabs of youtube as a way to replicate what I do at home for about 15min. Nothing happens, so he says something like "you are doing something different at home because it is fine, try switching power cords or wall outlets". So I go home and do that, still the overheating and powering off. I call and leave a voicemail telling him it is the same and that I would appreciate any help. I get no call back (at least from what I saw). So I give up on trying with him since I wasn't going to beg to at least find out what the real issue is. So, I did a lot of research (a month later) I got it working perfectly as before. A couple hundred dollars later and it was a dying power supply... (bought a simple power supply tester from FRYS) and it showed the PG value was 0. I am disappointed in the service I received as I spent $180.00 just to be exactly where I was at when I took my PC there (not to mention a dead video card that wasn't when I brought it there). I was patient with him, but when it came to me, he offered about 30min to try and remedy what he said was fixed (which wasn't). I gave 2 stars because him and his wife were very nice to me. However, not getting a call back or at least some follow through on a repair that I was saying was still the same is not worth $180.00. read more

I could not be happier with the service I got from Todd. This is THE PLACE to go for any computer issues. I was in the process of updating to the latest Windows 10 version and then I was going to do a system image after everything was updated. I should've reversed the order and done the system image first. After many tries my computer simply wouldn't boot. I looked in my local Yellow Pages (yes, we still need those for when we can't get online because a computer won't boot) and found Tolson Computer Solutions very close to where I live. I took my computer in on Monday, January 20, and Todd couldn't get it to boot and the message from a program he has was hard drive failure. Well, I definitely wasn't looking forward to reloading all my software and the documents I had on a flash drive. I left the computer with Todd, hoping against all odds he would be able to recover the data, but not really expecting success. Three days later Todd called and told me he had been able to recover all my data via a sector-by-sector clone, which took 17 hours! At that point, I didn't care if it had taken 17 days--he was able to recover my data, saving me countless hours of software reloading and all those little tweaks we make to our computers. He also upgraded Windows 10 to the latest version so I didn't have to do that. I consider the price he charged to be very reasonable and was, frankly, surprised it wasn't more as I'm familiar with what is involved in recovering data even though I don't know how to do it. It was worth every penny spent. I am over-the-moon ecstatic and will definitely use Tolson Computer Solutions for any future computer issues (hopefully, in the distant future). TRULY A GREAT COMPUTER SHOP! Todd initially got me my ASUS laptop for my VA vocational rehab program, so i could go back to school online as i am a disabled combat veteran. After an accidental mishap by my younger brother, while i was not there, i had to have Todd work on the computer, not only did he get it purring again, replacing the fan keyboard and etc. and giving me a recovery dvd set up, that i just used to reset my computer after windows 10 killed my laptop, he enabled me to get it purring again. I was supposed to write this review over a month ago. I let the time get away from me but I visited this facility over a month ago. My laptop was not allowing me to log in no matter how much I troubleshot the issue. I was concerned I would have to pay all kinds of money and that whoever I took it to would possibly try to rip me off. I could not have made a better choice! I think the name of the person who fixed my computer was Todd. He found out that I was prior enlisted because of a t-shirt I was wearing and that led to one of the best conversations I've had about the Old Navy meeting the New Navy. I'm so thankful for Tolson Computer Solutions!! Just eleven months after purchasing a new iMac, the hard drive started having issues, and the Apple Store offered to replace it, but they don't do data recovery. Most of my things were backed up, but a few important desktop files were really important to me, and I had neglected to back them up. Todd and Thomas immediately dispelled my fears and then worked hard over a few days to get a full back-up of my hard drive. They waited patiently as the Apple Store put in a new hard drive, and then they restored my computer to the exact settings as before the crisis! All of my logins, actions, and so forth are all there, and I'm able to pick up right where I left off. And not only that . . . They ordered me a new external drive and set me up on Time Machine so that this will never, ever happen again! Everyone in the office is wonderful - friendly and kind - and they really know their stuff without making the less knowledgable feel dumb. I enjoyed the experience and it is a relief to have a go-to shop for everything from the emergency data recovery (like I had) to smaller jobs. You CANNOT make a mistake utilizing this company! A VERY honest family owned business with repeat SATIFIED customers and "word of mouth" referrals as a foundation. I have used Tolson Computer Solutions for YEARS and have never been anything more than totally satisfied in all aspects of my dealings with Todd and "the crew". My last desktop was custom built by the company based on certain criteria for gaming (video games are the most "crunch" demanding on a system) and EVERYTHING runs at 100% (background, foreground, items, special effects (flames from guns, dust from tires, rain, clouds, etc.) movement, etc.) without ANY hesitation, pause, etc. AND it actually came in below what the same "off the shelf" system might have cost me without any assurance that it would run as well as the one I now have on my desk. read more
