Awesome service today by Mike, who went way above and beyond to help get my scary man Halloween (Gemmy Edwardian Butler) decoration talking again. He worked OK last Halloween but this year he would no longer talk. When I took him apart I could see two wires that obviously had pulled off where they had been attached to a capacitor. I had neither the tools nor the technical know how to repair this, as access to the area was tight. Mike quickly and efficiently got things soldered correctly. Unfortunately, the man still did not talk, though he moved his head about much better than he had before. Mike took it upon himself to figure out what the problem was; he soon diagnosed that the speaker was "open" and non-functional. They quoted me a very reasonable price. After opening the battery they discovered 2 cells were dead. They replaced the additional cells at no additional cost in a speedy manner. An appointment was made for their technician Mike to make a house call to set up the PS5 & to give my bf a basics lesson on how to use a controller to play games. Mike was friendly, patient, answered all our questions, and was a great teacher. He arrived on time, charged a reasonable fee, and was overall very professional. I've been to them multiple times with only minor issues with screen repairs.not great glass ect but it was affordable. When I was attacked for my tablet and the screen broke I once again went here. She gave me a "deal" of only 100$ to repair the screen. It lasted 3 days and broke as I held it to my chest. They won't fix it unless I pay them more money. I decided to check out this place because it is close to where I live, and because my favorite tv repair guy closed up his shop. Something I didn't like about this place is their response to message request for quotes, took a day and a half for them to get back to me. Secondly they're not flexible meaning they don't go door to door to fix your tv, even if you sent pictures and described the conditions, they still required you to bring it in the store for an estimate which you have to pay a fee whether they could fix it or not, but they say it counted towards the repair cost. Finally I was able to make them give me a rough estimate via messaging, unfortunately the cost of fixing this backlight for the smart tv cost the same as you buying a new tv, so unless you have some sentimental value, I couldn't go on with the repair, I might think the authorized retailers could cost me more, but I will check them out. read more

I am generally very happy to go with local businesses and these guys were willing to help me avoid going inside to drop off my computer, huge plus. Yeah as my machine is still dead behind me and my wallet is $600 lighter, Id say this was a real L. Should be 0/5 So I installed some new RAM on my 8 year old machine and the machine stopped working. I was slammed for time and didnt have the tools to diagnose the problem myself, though I suspected it was possibly the RAM. I drop it off and cover the fee for the initial assessment and they tell me the RAM is fine and the Motherboard is shot. Got it, okay. We talk potential upgrades, but their prices and offerings are too high for old parts that odds are good they just want to get rid of. So I ask to just have them replace the old motherboard with the same version as before and put in the RAM, as they claimed there was no issue with the new RAM. I also ask for a new case, all in all around $600. Not bad as I didnt want to do the work myself. About two days later they email me saying the PSU is bad and that'll be an additional charge, oh and theyve already replaced it. This stinks, so I go to newegg, order a better PSU myself and tell them to take out their's and put in my old one. Go pick up my machine, new case, new motherboard. After installing my new PSU, try to turn the machine on, same error code as before. I order new RAM and try different RAM, still wont boot, same error code. I pull out the RAM and try it on a test machine I have, works fine. So given the error code the only other possibility is the motherboard. So I paid these people $600 for a new case and that's it. They installed a bad motherboard and they tried to bully me into buying a new power supply. Even giving them the benefit of the doubt (Im not, you shouldnt) assuming they didnt know the motherboard was bad they still tried to bully me about the PSU and sell sub standard stuff. Go elsewhere. This place is shady as hell. read more

These guys sell Computer Cords that are stronger and better made than the cheap Cords at B.B. I am so glad I found this Computer Shop. Michael is THE BEST!!! Note that Nerd Repair Center is a pretty busy outfit, but in their defense, they do a good job getting the job done. I have found many IT/computer repair centers have a tendency to cut corners, and was pleased to not see that happen with my project. My kids broke my PS5 HDMI port. I called around to receive very high quotes to repair. They were quick to give me a price that was very reasonable and a fast turn around time. It did come with a 30day warranty how ever I would think something along the lines of 6 months would be more suitable. The new port only cost 10-15$ so yes most of the price is for the repair so a 6 month warranty over a 30 day warranty would leave me feeling better about the quality of work that they actually back up what they do. On top of that it has been over the 30 day warranty and I do have no issues and it works great! My only thing would be if your confident in your work and the part replaced is less than 20% of the over all price think about give a longer warranty to show you stand behind your quality of work. I'm old and technologically inept and I called Nerd Repair to install a new TV. They gave me a good price upfront, so I engaged their service. Mike came and carried a large boxed TV from the car into the house. I needed a stand from another manufacturer installed to the back of the TV and a fire stick. Mike was polite and quick. He programmed my Direct TV remote and gave me a tutorial on accessing the new TV's features. I'm forbidden to climb ladders, so I asked Mike to install a light bulb on a ceiling lamp.
