Also, make sure you zip up your soccer bags, hide your phone/wallet/keys somewhere safe! It has been known that little thieves walk by the sidelines and swipe your stuff! Although there are plenty of people milling about, they tend to be brave and take your valuables. There always seems to be plenty of parking for us ballers, so it's never really the problem. You'll probably get into a car wreck at the Gillman exit, before you can't find a parking spot for your car. Try to use the facilities at home. Unless you are a weirdo who enjoys port-a-potty's, then you'll be in heaven here! There is a bleacher style bench at the first field, but after that there isn't much else for spectators. BYO-chair! Albeit downright freezing at times, a great place to joga bonita!

Make sure you have a permit, because the field use is highly coveted! Bring your equipment, but leave the food outside the gates because they only allow water in, though they do have a drinking fountain. If you drink too much water, be prepared to use the port o potties. I don't have anything to say because I avoid them. The fields are conveniently located off the freeway, but the freeway can be plagued with heavy traffic at abnormal times of day. Parking is a challenge during game days (usually Weekendss during the sports season because a second lt is not available for use near the front lot at the Turf fields. There is another small lot at the grass fields so you don't have to trek across the fields to get to yours. Be sure not to leave valuables in you car! There is a taco truck just outside the parking lt that attracts hungry players during their breaks. But that is it for convenient food at the location.

A personal bonus for me that there are Xfinity WiFi hotspots in the area. Although this park could benefit from some regular maintenance, most of the areas are still quite functional. There was a lively soccer game going on when I visited, but I was disappointed to see that the other areas of the park were essentially deserted. I could see why people wouldn't want to use this recreation park (lots of litter, missing garbage bins, saw a man slumped over a bench, restrooms heavily locked up), but maybe with more use from the community, the city of Richmond may consider maintaining this park regularly. There were construction signs put up around the track notifying residents the park would be closed 2/1/22-4/15/22. I did some digging around and it appears that the city plans on replacing the fences around the area and possibly replacing the turf field with a fresh one. Additionally, the city has already been working on constructing the Richmond Wellness Trail on Marina Way which runs adjacent to the park and would probably improve accessibility. With all these updates, I'm hopeful that this park can be revived to its vibrant self that it probably once was when it first opened.

King Middle School has a nice quarter mile synthetic track. BHS has a track but I've never used it. I think there's a synthetic track elsewhere at Cal but I haven't found it. So Clark Kerr track gets stars for availability. Views from the west side of the track are nice. However, the soccer field is fenced in and the fence has a Cal Soccer tarp covering the entire span, so you can't see anything else when you're running besides the track in front of you and the grand eucalyptus tinderboxes along the sides of the track. Cinder track is soft and slow, nice on the joints. Mucky during rain. Portapotties and hand sanitizing stations are available. I didn't see a water fountain so BYOW. The park takes up about half a square block and is very nicely maintained. There were two workers maintaining the park while we were there. There's a playground with a nice play structure, a basketball court, two tennis courts, picnic tables and a large grassy area. There are restrooms and the side of the structure has a beautiful mosaic. The residents in the area are fortunate to have such a nice community park. A neighborhood gem!

Baseball games were being played while there are two separate play areas designated for smaller and bigger kids. Shade areas are hard to come by on warmer days. There are two benches with cement barriers wrapped around tree areas. Both are used for seating, but the cement areas offer ample shade under the trees. The larger play area for bigger kids has many structures to explore, climb and slide down. During our three hour stint of play, our daughter had many kids to play with. Between the play structure, digging in dirt and playing with bugs, play happened throughout the play area. Parking can be limited ,especially during baseball season, since it is nestled in a residential area with street parking. It is a few minutes from Baskin Robbins if the little ones have earned a scoop.

Stop laughing. It's just that I'm not a fan of redundancy when it comes to adding up my daily steps. The park is primarily a rectangle with a bit of a wooded area, an easy-to-miss picnic area, and a paved perimeter around the baseball fields. This latter feature is inarguably convenient, especially for the baby stroller brigade and seniors who don't want to think about the terrain they're trodding. I don't either, but I need variety so I'll climb the steps to the hardly-used picnic grounds, make my way up to Navellier, and walk downhill on Moeser until I find myself back on the paved path again. It's called the Survivor trek of Cerrito Vista Park. Stop laughing. The main challenge with the paved perimeter is avoiding the occasional errant baseball and upholding safe distancing when it gets crowded. The playground is small but also often very empty. It's not the most elaborate or biggest or advanced play structure but it's more than enough to let my little ones run/scream/climb it out. There is a nice little community center there that seems to always be full of kids, there are usually some teens hanging out on the baseball bleachers, and some older folx walking around the field. It's a nice little neighborhood park with super easy parking.

It's a nice new playground, with interesting play structures and a nice cushioned ground. Clean bathrooms, water fountains. Unfortunately no shade in the late morning, which is our usual playground time. It looks like they've planted some trees so eventually that will change. Part of the playground is enclosed by a fence, I guess for the smaller kids. But my kids wanted to play in both areas and i found the fence annoying because the gate is on the side farthest from the unfenced section. (I would be in the fenced area with one kid and the other one would want help so I'd have to walk all the way around.) Obviously not a huge deal, but when I'm evaluating playgrounds I certainly think of parental comfort, and how easy it is to park myself in one spot and be able to see everything. Yes it's next to the highway, and there's plenty of traffic noise. But there wasn't any smell or fumes when we were there. We'll certainly continue to come here, most likely on the way to/from Target.

This is a great park but they need to put a sign up that says no dogs allowed inside the park. I…read morewent there with my son and a lady brought 2 dogs to the toddler section and started fetching with them. Another infant (11 month old) also came into the park. The lady ignored us and continued to fetch with her dogs. The other parent says a lot of neighborhood folks uses the toddler park as a dog park and sometimes she gets scared and won't bring the baby when she sees too many dogs. Come on, there is Point Isabel Dog Park less than 5 min away and Buchanan dog park also less than 5 min away. Please bring your dogs to a dog park and to not a clean children's park! Who do I talk to about this?
