Thank you for responding, but I need to correct the record. The "resolution" offered was a refund that amounted to only a fraction of a single loan payment, while I made two months of loan and insurance payments on a truck I could not legally drive because your dealership failed to complete the registration process in a timely manner. That refund did not come close to making me whole. As for "staying in direct contact," the only reason there was continued communication was because of my persistence in calling, emailing, and texting repeatedly just to get answers. I was often ignored, pushed aside, or left without responses to half of the concerns I raised. It very much felt like once the truck was sold, my business no longer mattered. The delays, poor communication, and lack of urgency created a situation that should never have happened. Based on my experience, my advice to anyone--especially out-of-state buyers who need the dealership to handle registration correctly--is to look elsewhere if at all possible. read more

This is a review on why I didn't buy a car from Tom Bush Volkswagen. I showed up with an appt to buy, $20k bank draft made out to Tom Bush in my purse, 710 credit score and a trade in valued at $7500 according to my research meaning the resale value of my car was $13-$15k. My salesman who I'd met And spoke to and texted was great. He gets five stars however, the manager who came out and introduced himself gets a zero. F-minus for sizing my up and thinking I was could be taken advantage of. It's too bad Tom Bush doesn't want to move inventory, that they are determined to make $ on the financing by giving me a higher interest rate loan meaning higher monthly payments. this seems to be their business model. And just an FYI- not all dealerships do this. So, I walked and won't be back. I'd advise others to do your research and don't get roped into paying a higher interest rate because your credit score isn't perfect. additionally, they only would give a 6k trade in on my car and had an erroneous thousand dollar fee for paperwork! I bought a VW Jetta from this dealership and just had a VERY disturbing conversation with their service department. I had an oil change with a different company as i no longer live close to a VW dealership. I am in Fernandina Beach. I have tried to get my Oil change notice to go off and am told by the dealership that I cannot do this until the dealership does the oil change. I have done this before and was able to get the notice off. They refused to help me. I did contact another VW dealership and they said to come by and they would help. What a disservice to a customer for such a menial service. I have had such a high regard for VW service but Tom Bush will not be a recommendation of mine in the future..... read more

As a family we have bought several cars from Tom Bush VW & Mazda. Our son had purchased a Golf in 2016 but moved away to pursue a college degree and had his car serviced when coming home along with our Mazda at Tom Bush service center. He recently bought a new VW golf and currently lives in Aberdeen, NC. The closest VW dealer was a hours drive but decided while coming home to Jacksonville he wanted to have his first service done at Tom Bush VW. After dropping the car off for a oil change, also a tire rotation (that he paid for) he picked up the car and later that evening he noticed by a rim position front left marked with a permanent scratch on the rim that it was still on the front left side not rotated to the back. Therefore if they obviously did not rotate the tires & rims after paying additional cost for, he now is concerned that they did not do an oil change which VW mfg pays for the first 30k. He can't bring it back as he has to return home to North Carolina where he now lives & works. He now is left with having to file a complaint with VW corporate as he is not sure if they changed the oil although they say it was done. All Services are extremely important and not to be overlooked. Shame on you Tom Bush for leaving us in the dark... read more

On 02/21/25 I bought a used car, for $4700, from this dealership that I was told had gone through a safety inspection. On 02/26/25 on my 4th day of driving the car the clutch went out on it. I called the dealership and I was told that they wouldn't do anything about it. I then took it to a mechanic shop where I was told that to just get the clutch fixed would be $4800. I was also told that the car was not safe to drive with issues with the steering linkage, the right axle, and that there were several oil leaks. We recently bought a 2023 ID.4 from Tom Bush VW. We don't live close, so tried to get a deal in place before we visited. We offered a fair price, but the sales rep turned it down flat. A few days later we emailed the sales manager, with the same offer. He turned out to be away, but we got a reply from Mario Bocaj, who proved an absolute pleasure to deal with all down the line. He quickly accepted the offer, no games at all, and passed me back to the rep. There was a slight hitch before the day of our visit, when the rep warned us that we might be in finance for hours because of how busy the dealership was. We were not about to do that, not on any day, especially since we were paying cash. Mario got back in touch and said they would have everything ready for us when we arrived, no need to deal with finance. And so it proved. In the meantime, they had taken care of a recall on the vehicle. In the test drive, we found two or three other things that needed attention, and the rep diligently saw to it that those were fixed, too, while we went on a vacation. On our return, the car was delivered to our driveway by two sweet ladies. Overall, one of the best experiences you could hope to have at a car dealership. read more

I would like to begin this review by saying that I love my car, Volkswagen, and my experience buying this car 2 years ago. However, two months ago I had to come in due to a variety of lights that came up. I talked to my father and my boyfriend who are both car enthusiasts, and one is a mechanic, and they both told me that it is a faulty wheel sensor- which it was... a left front sensor at that. I came into this dealership to get service, and paid about $500 as I got my tire pressure adjusted, and got new wipers. I was shocked to learn that my warranty had ended less than a week before I came in. It would have been nice if they acknowledged that it was an inconvenience, and if they offered some kind of discount...but hey, I can't ask for much. Less than a week ago, I was leaving work and the same lights turned on. I was so disappointed. I knew it was the same, if not, a different wheel sensor. This recent experience has led me to become a bit skeptical about this dealership. I called for an appointment and the guy was just rude. I did not let them know that I had an oil change two days ago to see if they would try to charge me for one...and that they did. My boyfriend has always done my oil changes, and has always let the car run after to check for leakage. I have not seen any leaking oil in my driveway. I'd hate to assume that they lied and took fake photos, but it sure seems like they did. They also wanted to charge me $400 to replace my left rear wheel sensor. I get that prices aren't negotiable to an extent. But still. When I came to drop off and pick up my car, the employees don't seem happy. And it reflects on the customer's experience. I did not accept the service, and I will be having my boyfriend purchase the parts and install the other three wheel sensors. I did not want to pay $500 for service just to come back months from now to have the other two wheel sensors fixed... Just be cautious about this dealership. read more

Wow. Disgruntled employees everywhere you go. Not sure what is up with that. From check in with the service advisor to the shuttle service. Everything I did or said was met with an attitude. On the phone the service for a Jetta fuel line recall was quoted to be about 3 hours. After check in I was told it would take 6 hours. How interesting of a HUGE time discrepancy. We made the appointment over a week ago. Dropped off 10am last shuttle ride was 2:45pm. Got there around 3 and was told the car was "getting washed right now" LOL fast forward 50 minutes and they finally came to tell us in the lobby waiting area the car was ready. So annoyed this whole think took almost one half of my work day. Clearly they don't value customers time. They really dropped the ball here- I've never had this problem before at a dealership. Thanks The strange thing was when we were leaving the staff were in a better moods so I'm conflicted on my rating. It's like someone who insults you but then compliments you. Just don't know what to do with them. We learn a lot about a dealership when we aren't there to buy a car. They treat us A LOT differently. Good news is we are looking to purchase a second car, and I think we can eliminate this one. read more

Dealership repairs are notoriously expensive so it was a big relief to be able to get my car fixed and walk out feeling that, while not cheap, the price charged was fair. They even went the extra mile and didn't charge me extra labor when it was found during the repair that two additional parts needed to be replaced. I am grateful to Allen for great communication and a friendly, positive experience. I should also mention that the lady who made the appointment for me was exceptional at her job! I wouldn't even give it a star if i could. Worst customer service ever! I've had issues since i purchased the vehicle. (3years) Again and again the same issue. All lights randomly coming on- technology shutting on and off while driving. Accelerator failing especially on the highway and every time i have to bring it in and it requires a week or so to keep, they say they cannot provide me with a loaner (35K spent) and when requested to be dropped of to work at least, they can't. Brought it again today because the oil was low (had it filled not even 3 weeks ago) just for them to say they changed the oil and i have to pay $115. And then when i refused, they wanted to keep my car till i pay. That's when a scene was created in their showroom with their poor class general manager who even threatened to contact my boss because he knew where i worked. Which didn't matter to me because my boss has no business in butting in my business outside of HIS business. Yeah so avoid this dealership at all cost!! read more

Another bad experience. Had a bad experience last time I was here but decided to give them another shot since I bought the car here and the only other VW dealership is miles away. Arrive to pick up my car, only one of 3 advisors around (2/3 of staff at lunch at the same time?). Had to wait a bit. Paid the bill, he never went over the work they did, a little unusual when you're paying them over $1200. Go out to my car and 3 of the 4 brand new tires installed have grease and dirt all over them. Who doesn't take a little pride in there work and clean off installed tires. Needless to say I don't have time to wait for them to do what should have been done. Went looking for a used Vw Bettle and found one I liked and the bettle had bad tires in the front no back up camera that wasn't working I went up to TBV and they told me they wouldn't put ties on the Bettle even though the wires on the tire on Both was appalling and very disappointing that you would allow any purchaser to drive off your lot with those type of tires to either kill themselves or kill someone else is ridiculous to me I will never buy a Tom Bush Volkswagen or any other Tom bush dealership again and this isn't first time purchasing a vehicle from there but this will be my time even going to Tom Bush again read more

I've bought 2 vehicles from Tom Bush and have always been happy with the sales experience. Apparently, that's as far as the customer service goes. My 1.5 year old Atlas broke down on the side of the highway on a Sunday night, and I had to have it towed to the dealer. I spent all day that Monday trying to get in contact with them, and finally reached someone in sales who walked over to make sure they actually received my car. It took 5 days for my car to even be diagnosed. During that time, my service manager only returned one phone call (after I had the receptionist email him on my behalf, and it was to tell me that it's hard to do anything with my car because I didn't make an appointment. (Next time I'll plan my break down). When repairs finally started, it took another almost 2 weeks in total. I went almost 3 weeks with no car because there were "no loaners available" - one was offered to me the day before my car was finally fixed. During the repairs, the vehicle was misdiagnosed and a part was broken and had to be reordered. Things happen - but my service manager wasn't transparent at all until my dad showed up in person and put him on the spot. Also, they send a text when the service manager is assigned saying you can text back for updates. He doesn't respond to those either, so I've just got a trail of texts with no response. At this point I'll probably never buy another VW but I'm definitely not going back to Tom Bush. read more

This is the worst service dept among dealerships. Tom Bush VW in particular. we owned and leased cars across the city from Coggin to Keith Pierson to Fields. This week I paid $159 to two a car under warranty from Tom Bush VW to their competition in Orange Park. this is a car the day for 7 days in their yard unattended without so much as a service call on status. Zero work or follow up done on the vehicle. They have single handedly ruin the VW brand for us. This is a honest review, they are that bad. 8 years ago They were average. Right off the bat, I have to give credit where credit is due. Steve did an amazing job handling my transaction. He was responsive, empathetic, and gave me a great deal on both my new vehicle and my trade-in; not one of those fake "great deals" where you realize later that you've been had, but a legitimate great deal. If I never had to deal with the finance department, this would be a 5 star review. Oh but I did. Ive had the toughest time getting these folks to answer the phone (probably a 30% follow-through rate); let alone call back when they say they will. As of tomorrow I'll have a vehicle I can't drive because of an expired temp plate, and I can't get anyone to tell me whether or not my plate transfer has even been processed, or if they're sending another temp plate. I'm not gonna tell you not to buy from Tom Bush, but you should probably bring your own financing and plan on doing your registration yourself. read more

Their employees eat in customers cars. Director Mr Smithson denies it. I brought my vehicle in for service, when I got my car back I notice very strong scent of fried food in it. Upon asking the service specialist he said nobody ate in my car. I drove home very upset because I had to breath in it for 55 minute going through rush hour traffic. When I reached home, I found out that my brand new roadside assistance kit in the back had been gone through, the plastic seal was broken and thrown away. Prices at this place aren't cheap compared to the one at Orange Park or Osteen, if there is a Tom Bush coupon, remember you can use that at any VW in Jax. I bought my 2023 ID.4 in December last year, it now has 2 open recalls and a rear suspension noise coming from the rear passenger side. after my wife and I called the service department 3 times and left a message, no service advisor called back to follow up. I called the service department for the fourth time, on the afternoon of 5/22 and after giving my information to a woman who worked at the desk, who asked me if the car I was calling about was a Volkswagen after I told her it was a 2023 ID.4, she connected me to service advisor. after describing my want to fix my 2 open recalls and the suspension noise he told me that they do not know how to fix them and that he was not scheduling any recall repairs flat out; as for the suspension noise... it would be three weeks before he could even help me schedule something. As a consumer, I am really disappointed in this dealership, seems like there are good people working there but they just can't help with anything ID.4 related. i spent almost $50k there and I get no service or support when I need it. the service advisor suggested that I go somewhere else to get my recall work done on my car. While I do not have my VW Bug anymore, I always enjoyed dealing with everyone at Tom Bush VW. I bought a CPO VW Beetle from them in 2002, had it for almost ten years. It had a few bumps & bruises along the way but never gave me any problems. Except when Mother Nature decided to visit NE Florida and I had to figure out which way I could get to work without floating away. The Service reps were super friendly and didn't try to sell you or 'recommend' things you didn't really need done. They were always honest and upfront about the work and whether it was worth the cost to get it done. They worked fast too. The shuttle to the office was an awesome service to have when I couldn't be away from work. While I moved on to a new car, I would alway recommend Tom Bush for anyone that is looking at a Volkswagen, Mazda or BMW. I only get to look at BMWs any way. And dream. read more
