I had the same experience with a different remote at a nearby AutoZone and the associate not only knew how to replace it, he replaced it for me. Score one for the AutoZone associate. Anyway, I walked out of the NAPA, did a quick YouTube check, figured out what to do, walked back in to purchase the correct battery and replaced it myself. Go me. I will credit the NAPA guy for not taking a chance at prying it open and breaking my remote. So there's that point -- better safe than sorry! There's currently a AAA 20% discount through 11/30/19 which isn't much for a key fob battery but it's a nice discount on those big ticket items that no one loves to dish $$ out for. I found that surprising since my car is only three years old, has 45,000 miles, and I've never had any trouble starting it. Richard came out to check both my battery and alternator, and I was incredibly impressed by his attention to detail. He took the time to explain everything he was testing and why, which I truly appreciated. Lo and behold, my battery and alternator were both perfectly fine! His honesty and thoroughness really stood out to me. Honesty and integrity are so important, and Richard demonstrated both.
