Great Service! Read the reviews and almost did not use . Still I like to use local whenever available. I brought my snowblower in and there was a small wait ( 5 mins) time but then again it was a Monday after we got some snow so I except to wait. To be honest they were busy helping other customers, just like I would like to be helped. They helped me unload my machine, which I surely appreciated . I paid a deposit and was told 5 to 7 days. My machine was ready in 4 days. works great. The repair was more than fairly priced. If asked I would definitely recommend! read more

ZERO stars for the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The ordered part is two weeks overdue with no expected delivery date. Tried to cancel the order but no refunds are allowed. The receipt says returns are charged 20% but to return it needed to be delivered, no refund is not a good way to run a business. Stay Away I went to De Young Engine and Mower to purchase a drive belt for my Toro 22" front wheel drive lawn mower. I set the belt on the counter and asked for a replacement for my Toro. "Sir," the guy said, "I can't find you a belt unless you have the model number of the mower we are dealing with. There are all kinds of belts", he said, "and I have no idea which one you need without the model number. I asked him if he couldn't just match up the belt to mine. He said, "No". His attitude suggested I should know better than bother him with such a request. So I left. On my way home I stopped at Home Depot and went to the repair parts for lawnmowers section. Hanging there was a belt labeled, "Drive Belt Front Wheel Drive 22" Toro Lawn Mower". I matched it up with my old one. Perfect. I'll know better than to ever bother with Tom De Young's Engine and Mower again. read more

Tom DeYoung is a horrible person. he is rude, loud and condescending. On one occasion we witnessed him berate and humiliate an employee in front of customers. The older employee just looked down at the floor. my husband walked up to the employee and shook his hand and told him he thought he was doing a good job and always enjoyed doing business with him. Our latest visit to Tom DeYoungs shop was the worst experience I have ever encountered. I asked if I could return a part we purchased because it didn't fit. He said very loudly and rudely, No way. 'When your husband signed the receipt, he gave up that right to return" I tried to explain that the ordered part wasn't correct but he didn't care. He told me it was the right part, that my husband was incompetent and he shouldn't have sent his wife to do his dirty work. I was shocked and asked him to not talk about my husband like that. I called my husband on the phone so he could hear what was going on and that made Tom DeYoung furious and he told me to get out of his store and to get in my car. I asked why he was behaving so rudely, that I have a business and that I would never speak to a customer that way, we can resolve this. just tell me how to get the right part. I will gladly pay a restocking fee. He said, "good for you" and I don't care about your bullshit business. I called him a bully and I left the store in tears. read more

I called and had part numbers and this arrogant ahole started on this rant that part numbers are not good and I need to drive in to his location and that carb parts are emissions related and need to bee correct for pollution issues wth is wrong with these guys? I called Four Seasons lawn and equipment these guys were friendly and used my numbers and crossed to new numbers Four Seasons is my go to company actually went and got the one part they had I stock and ordered the other two. Always great service at Tom De young's -my latest experience was when I hit my swing set broke my auto key start panel! Well I called they picked up are top of the line Machine! I a yard warrior so I can't wait long for repairs I need it back fast! I ask to also full run up & sharpen all blades! Also fast & Professional - I have several machines from them over the years I pay a fair price for better service & products! I see several professional service yard companies coming and going when I stop by - that said something! Great company! read more

Horrible customer service!! They lied, stole and cheated us out of our money! DON'T go here! (Writing this on behalf of my cousin) We went in and asked what was wrong with our lawn mower, paid $500 for them to "fix" it. Brought it home and it was not working. We brought it back it in and they said the trannie was broken and it was going to cost another $800! Waste of money! We would have never stuck money into in if we knew the trannie was out! read more

I have been to deyoungs several times for parts and service and they have always been helpful to me and provided the parts I needed.a couple years back I had them rebuild the carburetor on my snow blower.I thought the 35 bucks they charged for parts and labor was very reasonable and the next day it was done.I installed it and my snow blower ran like brand new read more

I took a Honda generator in for repair and was told by the owner (Tom) that it was a non-repairable carberator problem and that parts were no longer available. I was charged $30 for the "work". I wanted to make sure that he was right so I took it to Village Honda and they said parts are available and got it working like new with reasonable costs. I was charged $30 for this guy to tell me that he couldn't fix it which was a lie. He was very angry when I came back to complain and would not even hear my story. Service is horrendous!! We are a long-time customer and the owner treated us horribly!! We were charged for a service that in the end did not solve our problem. When we called Toro they were very helpful and said IT IS UNDER A RECALL and will be fixed at no charge AND they are reimbursing us what we paid DeYoung since DeYoung refused to refund us. Of course I am going to another dealer for this and future service!!! read more
