The Tom Ferry Your Coach company is the prime example of a company that makes its money off of a bait and switch offer. AVOID THEIR "COACHING PROGRAM" AT ALL COST!! The Tome Ferry Your Coach organization preys on unsuspecting real estate agents by offering a money back guarantee that they sell in one way, but their written contract (in very, very small print) says something completely different. There are 3 requirements of the money back guarantee. 1.) Attend 2 Tom Ferry events, 2.) Attend your scheduled coaching calls, and, the big one, 3.) close less than 3 deals. On stage, the speakers convince people who would normally not sign up, to part ways with their money by saying things like: "if you do not close 3 additional deals...", or "we guarantee you will close 3 additional deals...", or "if you closed 20 deals last year, we expect you to close 23...", and all of these end with "...if not, then your money back, GUARANTEED!"(I have lots of proof of this) HOWEVER, the very fine print buried in the contract states that as soon as the signer of the contract closes 3 real estate transactions during the one year course of the "coaching", that the money back guarantee is null and void. You see the problem here? Many agents close more than 3 deals anyways. The Tom Ferry Your Coach organization knows this as well. They PREY on real estate agents in this manner, knowing that they will always have a "weasel clause" way out of giving people their money back. And it doesn't even matter where your deals came from. If you close those deals, they claim it was because of their coaching. No wonder his organizations numbers are so high. They claim to have been instrumental in deals they had nothing to do with. AGAIN, they sell it one way knowing full well that their contract says different. DO NOT FALL FOR THE SCAM!! Furthermore, Mr. Tom Ferry himself is aware of this practice and will avoid anyone wishing to discuss it. He will even lie to your face while shaking your hand. I again know this first hand because that is what he did to me. This past year, at the Tom Ferry Summit event at Mandalay Bay in August of 2016, I tried to speak to Mr. Ferry regarding this situation. At the very end of the last day of the event, I waited in the auditorium for almost 2 hours. There was a very long line to see Tom, and after the line dwindled down, I jumped on the end. There was just one person behind me. As we waited, I discovered she too wanted to discuss the same topic with Tom. When I got to Tom he immediately started shaking my hand. I told him who I was and what office I worked for. I then asked him if he had heard of my situation and he said he had not. He told me that I should have called him. I informed him that I had tried to contact him numerous times, but he never returned my calls. He asked to double check the number I had for him and he confirmed it was correct. (I already knew this as we had texted back and forth in February of 2016) His directions were then: "Text me on Monday. Not Saturday or Sunday because Kath and I will be decompressing, but on Monday. Text me and we will discuss this and get to the bottom of it immediately. BUT you have to text me!!" I told him I would and we parted ways. This entire time, he was shaking my hand and looking me in the eyes, making promises he never intended to keep. The girl behind me ended up just being pushed through because Tome "had to leave", but she confronted me, told me she heard everything and would like to hear how it goes. She and I exchanged emails to do this. Unfortunately, the email to her was easy to write because NOTHING EVER HAPPENED!! I sent Tom over 25 text messages over the next month and left numerous voicemails. I never heard a peep back...not from Tom or anyone else in the organization. WHY? Because they know its a scam and they just hoped I, as most people do, would just sluff it off. The facts are this: 1.) the Tome Ferry Your Coach is defrauding its clients using a bait and switch sales tactic in regards to its supposed "Money back guarantee." 2.) Tom Ferry himself knows of the issue, he avoids discussing it at all costs, and Tom Ferry is a liar...even when he is looking you in the eye. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!! 7 MONTHS OF COACHING WITH TOM FERRY EARNED ME MY WORST YEAR IN REAL ESTATE EVER. I'M SUFFERING EXTREME FINANCIAL HARDSHIP BECAUSE I'VE EARNED SO LITTLE THIS YEAR DUE TO MY COACHING EXPERIENCE! I began coaching with TFO in February of 2017 to boost my career to a new level. My income was approximately $100,000 per year for the past 3 years. During my "Free Coaching Consultation," which is really just a sales pitch where a sales rep evaluates your business to find a way to get you to sign up for coaching you could probably do without, the rep convinced me that the methods I was using to get business was antiquated. He said I was what Tom called a "Fallen Star" meaning a formerly successful agent who now needed new ideas to continue at the level I was at and continue to grow my business. Based on past sales, the rep felt I could easily double my income in 2017 if I did even 1/3 of what my coach told me to do and recommended Elite coaching for $1,099 per month. So, I jumped in and began coaching. My first coach gave me tons of "homework" (I completed about 95% of what I was told to do) and implemented new systems that took away my marketing dollars from what had given me success in the past. What I didn't know when I signed up that I know now is that real estate agents need not be a top producer to be a coach with Tom Ferry. They just need to be able to follow the coaching manual and have time in their schedule. The incentive besides additional income is the referrals that are passed between the coaches. The referrals are the true incentive and it seems that anyone can become a coach for this organization. In the 7 months of coaching, I received NO INCOME as a result of what either of my coaches instructed me to do (my second coach I got after complaining about my first inexperienced coach was better but it was already financially too late-the damage was already done by TFO's poor choice of my first coach). As a consequence, my income went from $99,400 in 2016 to $36,000 this year. After battling it out with TFO, I was finally released from my contract when I explained I could no longer pay my monthly coaching fee because my credit card had reached its limit and with no results from my coaching, my income plummeted and I couldn't pay my credit card bills any longer. I never thought I'd be in this bad of a financial position and especially not due to real estate coaching. If this review can help just one person keep from being in my position, the time it has taken to write this will be worth it. About a month ago, I received a call from Rick at Tom Ferry's main office. I explained the whole situation and the consequences my family and I have suffered because of my terrible decision to begin coaching with this organization. Rick said he would see what could be done for me and get back to me. After not hearing from him the next week, I called and left messages for him 3 times over the following weeks. I never received a returned call. This tells me that #TomFerry doesn't really care about the people they profess to want to help and that they only care about the next month's payment for their poor coaching services. I've spoken with other clients of theirs and I am not the only one who feels that Tom ferry has overpromised and underdelivered. Coaching with Tom Ferry has been both heartbreaking and humbling. This is the worst and costliest business mistake I've ever made as it has cost me far more than just the cost of the coaching alone. I wish there were more than five stars! The law of Infinity definitely applies. I first learned about Tom Ferry back in 2017 when I decided to download the business plan and all of a sudden I got a call and I was like, here is another "sale call", right? it was not! Long story short, I joined as a CORE+ with the TF organization and took the leap of faith because I wanted to make it happen. And making it happen begun with Coach Kayel! Bi-weekly calls/Homework/Mindset talks/Tactics to move forward/System in place and the list goes on. I attended Marketing Edge in Chicago and boy did that retreat blew my mind from a Marketing strategies perspective. I built on lead sources and all along, I am thinking how can I position myself from the rest? How can I be Z bag of chips that every client would want? Hence, "Find your missing piece" was born. I not only discovered Real Estate as a business and a career, but with a purpose! As a parent to a young teenager with Autism, I specialize in helping special needs families navigate the real estate industry for better services and providers for their loved ones. I took some of the nuggets from the Marketing retreat and applied them directly to the newborn NICHE of mine. Our company signed up for Tom Ferry coaching, we're a high volume team and were promised from the onset that our designated coach would be a coach who runs a high performing team (more than ours) and he simply wasn't. He is a nice person, is probably a great coach for individuals, but when you're spending close to $2,000 per month for a service which ultimately is only 2 hours of phone calls per month so $1,000 per hour, they better be good. They weren't. They weren't what we were promised or expected, we gave it three months, and we're tired of having to make requests and chase them down for something that we requested from the onset. They're saying they've reached out, which they have recently, but that doesn't change the fact that it wasn't good from the onset, and our first coaching calls were basically discovery, we're not going to bring on another coach to waste another $1,000 between two calls to explain our business and setup to them again, it's unreasonable. Tom Ferry coaching wasn't what we expected, the value was minimal for us, I'd highly recommend you know what you're getting into. We've been apart of other coaching programs that were far better for far less and provided more one on one services directly by coaches who were better suited for us. Also, to no fault of the coach, but the program itself, he carries classes / calls but they're on his schedule, when you're paying a lot of money for services like this, it should be expected in our opinion that you are given more flexibility in when your calls are scheduled and done, and beyond that, when your coach is in a completely different time zone and hosts calls that aren't within standard business hours, it's tough to take advantage. There's a decent chance that this program works well for others, but it thus far has not for us, and we don't have the time to now re-setup, re-engage, re-interview this company that couldn't perform and deliver from the onset. What Tom Ferry sales reps should explain from the onset is that their program requires a lot of back end and laborous administrative work on your end, you'll spend more time being requested to input deals and information into their system (my suspicion is so that you become more entrenched in their platforms) their video library isn't updated very often, and their approach (from my experience) is too clinical and too generic. It's very easy to just want to dive in and say "How much are you spending, what is it on, etc" and try to eliminate and cut costs, etc. That's not what we wanted, or needed, we've seen tremendous growth as a team and we wanted a coach that would help us build systems and explore other avenues to accomplish this. Most importantly though, when you express frustration with this company and their lack of services, they become very, very, hostile. Not only on the phone was our customer care representative short and rude, they reached out to our coach for feedback and it was a hostile and rude email that was factually untrue. We've also asked for this once via phone and via email: Can you send the part of the contract that outlines what the services that Tom Ferry coaching entails and provides, this signed document doesn't outline the services delivered / rendered. Read this testimonial so you don't waste the time i did. I was an agent since 2014. I did ok as far as a median income. I was able to learn a decent amount like many agents in my first year in the business. I heard of Tom Ferry, but it was just a suggestion through a family member doing real estate. I thought that there were many gurus out there many training classes. I would learn from my brokerage. I would re-invent a better way of doing business as an agent. I would find my way to success. I've attended 8 different real estate seminars, classes all from different companies my first year. They all had their own approach, a magic bullet that if you follow you reach your success. If anyone has been to an event of his, needless to say, you know when i say I was so inspired and motivated. I could see the success stories sitting up there and the energy and excitement. Was this the magic bullet? I kept trying to find out the whole 3 days of the seminar if coaching was right for me in such an early stage in my career. I decided no. HUGE MISTAKE. I went through my first real estate winter season. My bank account was getting drained, I was in a terrible slump, rethinking should I go back to a new profession? Its been a tough 1 year in real estate. I changed companies hoping for a fresh start, once again hoping for a magic bullet. I was 6 months into my 2nd year. I opened up my blueprint workbook that I got from the seminar hoping for some insights on what i missed. Get a free coaching call form was in the workbook. FINE. I am truly shocked by negative review! When I was new 30 yrs ago, I was told the same negativity by seasoned agents. I wasted 5 yrs by doing and following other agents in the business.... What A Waste Of TIME!! I was so intrigued by the Free Work shop, I went to check it out. It was free.. from Tom's Dad's company, why not! I was shocked by my negative agents in the office so I never told anyone that I signed up for coaching. After attending Tom's Productivity class, my business soared and all the agents could not figure out what I was doing. I told them that I was not taking their advice, and finally informed them that I was in coaching. They continued to bad talk, and I laughed while collecting more checks. Coaching works! It does not matter what office you are in, if you are not focused with a plan, you will not succeed to a higher level. You shall remain in your comfort zone. While trained agents soar. What do you have to loose? If you do not follow step by step then failure and not being satisficed is your own fault. If you follow the steps, it will pay off big time. They give them the goal and they give you the tools. You need to build your house of success. I would not have been able to survived the 2 recession without Tom's help. 30 years ago, and I am coming back for more coaching. I reached out to Tom Ferry just a little over 4 years ago looking for a way to get my life back. I had been in real estate for quite some time and I had sold quite a few homes, but my goal was to start seeing my family again. Simply put, I hired a coach to help me make my run my business instead of having my business run me. I was given a coach by the name of Don Jacks to talk with, and about the first thing he did was ask for my wife's phone number so that she could give a report card on if I was working too much :-) Now, 4 years later, I work less while selling almost 3 times as many homes. My goal this year is to have my team sell 226 homes, and I believe we can do it. I knew I had to write a review when I look at Yelp and saw the horrible reviews some people had written. It kills me to see that some people write these horrible reviews because they didn't see any increase in business. But I will tell you the whole truth for those who want to hear it, and for those who don't as well. Simply put, there is no magic to this business. None. It requires planning and hard work. Coordinate that with strategy and you will do well. Getting a coach has saved me a lot of grief and made me a lot of money. Very bad experience with TF coaching program myself, 1.No blueprint /Maps from the coach as I needed and expected from the program, basically each coaching call is just about the trouble shooting for the ongoing deals which I can gain the advice from my managing broker with no extra charge. 2. After joined the one year coaching program, My GCI was dropped from 110k to below 30k annually, I was KW realtor and found KW's Ignite Training is much more helpful. I talked with the customer service people to express my unhappy with the coaching program and no one really care and give me any follow up or solution except selling me the event regularly. 3. I joined the Bill Pipes script spring event in LA in Feb.2018 -where I met several coaching members and shared the same experience as I have. Just know how disappointing. 4. I claimed for the money back after one year's bad experience and was tricked by the staff and was told I am not qualify money back as I didn't join the summit, my coaching program was finished in Jun and the summit was in Aug, is it realistic for me to attend?? The worst company I have ever worked with. Their team kept contacting me to sign up for coaching. I insisted that I was not interested because they could not guarantee me that they would assign a coach that was selling way more houses than I was. A guy named Mo finally guaranteed me that he would set me up with someone personally selling at least double my production. They set me up with my first coach. One of my first questions was how many houses did you sell last year. He said 10-12. I then let him know I would not be interested in him as a coach. They then set me up with another coach. One of the first questions I asked was how many houses did he sell last year. He proceeded to tell me he only sold 8 houses. I respectfully let him know that I was not interested. They had another rep call me and belittle me for 20 minutes stating that it doesn't matter how many houses a coach sold last year and some people are better as coaches. I let them know that was not what we argreed. He went on and on and told me its better to have a coach selling less houses. He really put a bad taste in my mouth. They will not cancel the contract even though they did not produce a coach selling twice that I am. Shame on your company Tom Ferry. read more

In just a few short sessions of working together we have implemented a follow up system, daily routine and identified untapped lead sources that I've already seen a return on.
