The food is greatly, an excellent chef that makes up the snacks that we love! If you're looking for that hometown feel, corner bar ambience, this is the place for you! Enjoying a pizza steak today, loving it as always!! They also are serving several types of bourbon!!

Different cheesesteak #1043 in the last four years. Full video of our visit is on my YouTube channel, Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure. Drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. I loved everything about Tom Fischer's Tavern. The cheesesteak side by side against most of the places in Philly would probably not do very well. But, if you want a good old fashioned hole in the wall neighborhood, come as you are, friendly bar cheesesteak served by a sassy bartender named Molly, Tom Fischer's Tavern is the place for you!!

~ Went to visit my sister in NJ for the weekend , and this is one of their neighbor dive bars. Unfortunately, due to COVID, socializing has to be outside. We we first arrived, I was mad uncomfortable. Their were people just sitting/standing at tables with one beer .. not really dining just talking. In the meantime my party is just standing, waiting for someone to welcome/ seat us. Sir finally came, saying there's no seating , but we could eat on the concrete Jersey walls they had in the back. Mind you, were the only black people there. Don't think he meant any negative intent, but I was like , naw we're just gonna find another place to eat at. At this same time two men who were just drinking and watching the game gave us their bench and sat with their buddies. Now the atmosphere was amazing. Friendly folk that recommended food and started great bar debates. I loved them. Place just needs to add one more bigger t.v outside since that's were everyone is . Food? Everything was amazing. Just go in there and order whatever. The bread is absolutely fresh, and taste so good. Just make sure you add extra meat ( pause ) on your cheese steaks. Was just so lite and empty. Had to order 2. The fried pizza.. not much of a difference like you'd think. Just the dough is crispier. Good, but not my style. Staff was good. Neighborhood is beautiful. They got the corn hole out there for more excitement. The initial vibe there kinda threw my off .... but the people made it much better. Enjoy . #TeamDiesel4Evaaaa

I hesitate writing this review because I want to keep it a secret... but this place is my favorite bar and it wouldn't be fair to keep business from them :) It's a locals bar where you can get a $2.50 lager and very reasonably priced food. No frills, no fancy stuff. Bartenders warm up as they get to know you and sometimes memorize your order (no promises). Cash only. Food and drink are separate tabs. Jenna is the amazing waitress for the chef, Johnny. She is outstanding and so efficient. Johnny is super accommodating and I had the pleasure of meeting him recently. He really wants people to enjoy his food. I recommend everything on the menu. They just started serving veggie burgers and I love their fried pizza. Great place to watch sports, listen to the eclectic music on the jukebox, and hang with friends. If anyone doesn't like it, that's fine. More room at the bar for me!!!

Food was good! Service was nice! This is definitely a locals spot, but a nice way for our food group to mix up the night. As it was national wing day most of us opted for wings!! But the fried pizza sounded too good to miss out on! It's fried dough with a pizza made on top! Very good& cheesy!! Buffalo fries were really good. Was a little disappointed that the hot sauce is "made to order" and we couldn't get some on the side to dip. The garlic hot is good- but not super hot. Also they need a smoking area designated with outdoor eating.

Yes. That is a Jagermeister jean jacket.

A recent Philadelphia Inquirer article has definitely upped the popularity of this lowkey spot, so be prepared for a full house on the weekends. The space is small but mighty, adorned with local art and lots of fun quirky decorations. The bartenders are friendly and efficient, but remember to bring cash as this spot is cash only. A true no-frills spot. There's lot of seating, on a week night you'll have no problem grabbing a seat at the bar or a booth, but on the weekends they are packed open to close.

It was more of a playful nostalgic environment rather than a place where I would eat, but for a quick strong cocktail or beer it was a fantastic hang out. There were several of us and the bar was slammed. Loved the Ms Pac-Man arcade game and the Godzilla pinball machine next to the dart board. The gender neutral bathroom was a disaster and loved it. The door had a posted sign as a warning, "One Urinal, One Toilet, One Lock". The walls and ceiling (yes ceiling) was plagued with colorful marker ink and stickers, basically graffiti. Was not sure if I was permitted to add to the decor, but I wanted too so badly. Surprisingly, the sink, urinal, and toilet was so clean that the white porcelain shined against the graffiti. The retro-inspired geometric pattern of white and black hexagons created an inviting tile floor. If you are visiting Philly, you gotta take a peek. Guaranteed this is a stop you wont soon forget.

They were incredibly welcoming over the phone and assured us they were still happy to serve us, which immediately set the tone for a great experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was friendly and attentive. We never felt rushed, even though it was later in the evening, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was delicious, and after a long day, it was exactly what we were hoping for. It's refreshing to find a restaurant that still values hospitality at the end of the night. The Jug Handle Inn turned what could have been a disappointing evening into a great dining experience. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

At this point I'm starting to wonder if the chickens are real or if I've been the victim of an elaborate prank. Fortunately, the food more than made up for my poultry disappointment. We ordered a couple different wing flavors, including the Honey Mustard and a blueberry-based sauce, and both were excellent. The wings themselves were massive, meaty, and cooked really well. The Honey Mustard had a nice balance of sweetness and tanginess with just enough mustard bite to keep it from feeling overly sweet. The blueberry flavor was surprisingly good too. It had a sweet-tart fruitiness that sounds unusual on paper but worked really well with the smoky, savory wings. Both sauces had plenty of flavor without completely overpowering the chicken. The atmosphere is classic neighborhood pub. Cozy, casual, and the kind of place where people seem comfortable settling in for the whole evening. Downstairs there's a bar and shuffleboard area that definitely attracts a younger crowd. It gets pretty lively and noisy, which adds to the fun if you're there with friends. My only real complaint is that parts of the place felt a little messy. The stairs leading downstairs were sticky, and parts of the basement floor were too. Nothing that ruined the experience, but it was noticeable. The staff, however, were fantastic. Fast, friendly, and personable. Even when things were busy, they kept everything moving and made us feel welcome. Overall, it's a fun spot with great wings, good energy, and a laid-back crowd. Still giving it four stars because I left without seeing a single chicken, and I feel mildly betrayed. But if you're looking for a place to hang out with friends and eat some seriously good wings, it's definitely worth the visit.

nah. Mulligans is…read moreactually fine, but they shoot themselves in the foot in so many ways that I know I won't be going back. And as The Misses stated as we pulled away, "I never knew this place existed, and I'm happy to go back to that." Ouch. First, the good: - The building is spacious, and looked clean. There is plenty of room, and table and bar seating. - The menu is vast, with a lot of options - Service was fine. The bad: - Mulligans is wildly expensive. I think the cheapest thing to eat was a small bowl of fries, which was $7.95 (more on this in The Ugly.) An APPETIZER of chicken fingers was over $13 dollars, and that didn't include fries. I was shocked at some of the prices.... - speaking of those prices, they had Happy Hour AND Lunch specials.....that were almost the exact same price as the regular menu prices. So, a flatbread from the menu was like $12, but the Happy Hour "deal" was a flatbread for $10*....(again, more on this in a second....) How is that a deal? Yardhouse, for example, does HALF PRICE flatbreads during happy hour. - That barely discounted flatbread was also underseasoned, by the way. It looked ok, and had nice sized chicken chunks on it, but The Misses said that everything was underseasoned. (She did give them kudos for fresh fries though...) - There is no kids menu, even though there was a shocking amount of children here. We brought our 7y/o, the table next to us had 2 boys between 5-9, and at least 2 to 3 other groups came in with children just while we were sitting there. But, nothing on the menu for kids. I guess you need to just pony up the $13+ for an appetizer chicken tenders meal. The UGLY: - About those prices....they don't match the menu. I can't stand the price bait and switch, yet Mulligans hit us with it for every item. That bullshit $10 happy hour "deal" is actually $10.40 on the receipt. (BEFORE tax, before one of you wise ass economists chimes in....) My "$11.95 lunch special" was actually $12.43, and the Little Ones small side of fries came in at $8.06. Now, these are just slight little increases, but it's the point that the actual prices arenn't the same as the menu price. All of this is made even worse by the fact that.... - ...anything other than cash incurs a FOUR percent surcharge! So, our meal had an ADDITIONAL $3 tacked on because we paid with a card, like normal people. Who's walking around with cash in 2026? Drug dealers? There is just no reason to travel here to overpay for incorrectly price labeled food that you will then have to pay ANOTHER premium on at the end. The food was FINE, but fine isn't worth the upcharge.

Big, open, and bright with a varied menu and a TON of beers on tap. We had already eaten, so we didn't try the food, but everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic.
