Got some great drinks and okay food at this bar and grill. It happens to have quite a history. Tom Kelly's is a long time local favorite in New Lenox. Actually one of the nicer restaurants around. That may not be saying a lot but it's where to go if wanting something better than the chain restaurants. Coming here the first time we weren't sure what to expect. It's actually a lot more casual than it sounded at first. This isn't some fancy ass steakhouse. A lot more of a blue collar atmosphere. The prices are kind of high on cocktails though. It's about $16 for one of the Summer Mojitos. They have a few flavors to choose and I got raspberry. A lot of the food is meaty as expected. It's about $12 for the pretzels. Basic. We got these as one of our few options. Comes with what they call chips sauce, which is made with pickles amazingly. The rest of the menu features burgers and fries and of course big ass steaks. Has some of the better food in town to be honest. It's located in kind of a hard to see location. There's a crowd especially on weekends. read more

We have been to Tom Kelly's many times. We enjoy the food and great service. Last time we were there on March 18th our bill was $73.29. We paid with a debit card but left an $18.00 cash tip for our server. When my bank statement came in April it showed a total of $103.29 deducted from my debit!! Somehow someone added $30.00 more to the total. We will not be going back there ever again and we will tell everyone we know to spend their money elsewhere. read more

The food is excellent. I have a family of five and we all ate different menu items and shared. Schnitzel is excellent as is the variety of sausages. Portions are large. Selection of German beer is vast. I recommend going on a week night, weekends get very crowded. Expect an hour weight and parking lot is too small for a busy weekend. read more

My family frequently goes to the AMC theatre close by and had a chance to try Tom Kelly's. Unfortunately it wasn't a very good experience. For apps my son ordered the wings, I ordered the rueben rolls and my wife ordered the french onion soup. My son said the wings were dry (I already knew that just by looking at them.) The rueben rolls were bland and my wife said the soup was pretty good. My son ordered the chicken wrap with buffalo sauce. He said it was good but it was extremely messy because the buffalo "sauce" was like water. My wife ordered the chicken Rockefeller. She said it was bland, nothing special. I ordered the Shepherds pie. I'm Irish and German. Not only have I made Shepherds pie many times myself but I've eaten it at many restaurants across the country and this was by far the worst I've ever had. Hardly any meat & vegetables compared to all the mashed potatoes on top. It was also completely bland with no seasoning used. Another thing that I frequently order when I go out is a chocolate or espresso martini. I tasted the Martini that the bartender made and it should just be called a vanilla vodka martini because that's all I tasted. My wife and I wanted to try the rueben pizza so I ordered one for take out. The next day I put it in the oven, my wife and I sat down excited to try it and guess what? It was a margarita pizza and not the rueben pizza I ordered. The place was pretty much empty on a Sunday afternoon. There is zero excuse for plates and beer bottles to pile up on the table with no one willing to take them away. The two teenagers that brought out our main course just left the app plates sitting there. I left a 15% tip which was 14 1/2% too much. Safe to say I won't be back. read more

Went there with my 2 friends last Tuesday for early dinner and ordered the steak tacos on soft corn tortillas ($17). The tortillas disintegrated and I had to eat the small pieces of steak with a fork. Also, no salsa served with the tortilla chips...they really shouldn't do Mexican food if they can't do it right. I asked the server to let the chef and manager know there was a problem with their tortillas. She said they already knew and, that next time, I could order it with a double tortilla. My friend and I both suggested that, if they knew, they should do that automatically or not offer the tacos on their menu. She said they were more a burger place so not to expect the tacos to be that good. Heard nothing more from her..no offer of a discount...crickets! I won't be going back there any time soon. In contrast, I had a pick up order from Franklin's Public House in Palos last week where they forgot to include the cranberry relish for my 2 orders of turkey/apple sliders. Came here with a group of 12 last night. It was a good time. Our server got switched towards the beginning because our party was split and didn't realize. We were a little sad because Alicia was amazing and her vibe was just so warming and made you feel welcomed. We all ordered separately but all shared so got to try a few plates. The special was a pesto flatbread which was really good. The French onion soup was good, just a little salty and didn't care for the bread that was inside but other than that, good. I got the chicken Cesar salad with blackened chicken, amazing and the bread/crutons they put on the side were wonderful. My husband got the crispy chicken wrap with bbq and he said it wasn't anything special and that he wished they cut the chicken up instead of putting a whole tender just in the wrap. Forget the corned beef n cabbage! I make the corned beef at home so I'm guessing this just wasn't cooked enough. There was so much Gristle that we had to keep spitting it out. It was not tender. We think it was a very inexpensive cut for sure. The carrots were hard and crunchy. The Cabbage was good the potatoes were good. Soda bread tasted burnt. And it was all floating in water. Like soup. Would not recommend. Told our waiter. He said sorry. See the picture for all the gristle. And then see our plates that we sent back. Didn't even want to take it to go. Update: I actually called before then response because people said I should definitely talk to them period so I spoke with kelly who is one of the owners I was told. Well that never happened so I called back and spoke with the gentleman. A manager I'm told. And he said Kelly just left and he would text her to get the sent out to me. Well I do not find that has happened again. And I just sent her an email. So to be offered something and then to have to ask two times to have it sent is really not the great customer service that it initially started out to be. Omg. I like Tom Kelly's. I think it could be a great spot. The food is decent, the servers are solid the building has potential. I always feel like it just needs a bit of tweaking. Turn the lights down a bit, adjust the music and take a look at each dish on the menu. It's always so bright, you can't hear the music, and each dish is just ok. I like going there because of the space... you can go with a lot of people, the bar layout is great, it's a great place to watch a game. But I seldom remember or crave the food. I always wish the ambiance was adjusted. To the point that I want to dim the lights myself. A few small tweaks and I think it could be amazing. I will keep going back for sure. read more

Eight of us went to this place last night members of the southside business network and we all ordered various different things couple of us had black and salmon some head the chop salad with chicken on it some had fish and chips everybody ordered something else and they did not disappoint all the food was good everybody loved their meal everybody said I did great by picking this place and at the end of the meal I had coffee and a brownie which was wonderful somebody had their Apple crisp which they eat it all and it was huge and somebody had their fried Oreos and said they were terrific so this place is an easy five star read more

I've been trying to take clients here for lunch for what seems like months, but something would always come up. Today, I took my kids, 9 & 11, with me to grab some tickets at the AMC right behind it today and figured we'd stop in to eat after. I went here for lunch after a work meeting in New Lenox. It is a nice sports bar/restaurant with many TVs. This looks like a fun place to have several beers and watch the Cubs. I traveled all the way to this place to listen to my favorite local band, the Hillbilly Rockstarz play. My band did not start until 9 but I got there around 3:30. There was a big St Patty's Day Bash and the place was packed! Giving 5 stars because I was very impressed by how well this place was flowing even though it was a madhouse. My Bf and I were able to find seats at the bar, away from the entrance was the reason why. Everyone seemed to congregate at the front. We were acknowledged immediately by the prettiest bar tender, didn't get her name but she's the one with the short platinum blonde hair. She was fantastic the entire 5 hours we were sitting at the bar. Even though there were so many people, we were never without a drink and she always checked on us. The bar was staffed so great that we never waited for anything for too long. I started drinking Raspberry moons, blue moon beer with lemonade and raspberry liqueur. It was very good. Had many of those and then I ordered a martini with my meal. My boyfriend order a couple of their mules, the jalapeño one being his favorite. I ordered a For dinner I went with the scallops. I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious they were. I think it was 6 decent size scallops with a side of rice and carrots. It also came with either a soup or salad. I ordered the salad. Only little complaint I had was that the salad didn't come before my meal. My boyfriend ordered the Guinness beef stew and he said it was great. I only made the drive to see the band and party in the heated tent but I am so glad I found this place.
