"Don't forget if you go to the hospital or you're bringing someone you're NOT on your best behavior because you're not feeling well." Dr. John is a gem. Truly…read more I had a minor emergency on a Saturday after de-boarding a cruise in Ft Lauderdale. I stubbed my toe on my luggage and the entire big toe came off and was sticking straight up and down but still attached at the base. It was horrendous, and gory and painful. I was panicked and unsure what to do - should I go to emergency room? Can I wait till Monday and go to podiatrist? I'm literally in an unfamiliar city, 4 hours from home, by myself and not knowing what to do. I ended up searching for Podiatrists near my home city of Clearwater and read through a few... well Dr John ended up being like 5 or 6 down on the list and something about his profile and info that just felt right. I called and even though they were closed there was a phone # for emergencies so I called and left a voicemail. Dr John called me back within 5 minutes!! I explained the situation, he put me at ease and told me I could wait until Monday and that he'd have the office call me first thing Monday morning to fit me into the schedule. Well sure enough, 9am rolled around and they called. My experience with the Doctor as well as his office was so great. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Apparently I have a fairly extreme phobia/anxiety of foot/toenail issues and was basically having a downright "fight or flight" reaction. I was so afraid of the pain of having to have my big toenail taken off, and afraid of the sounds of the procedure, afraid the numbing wouldn't work, etc... I was a downright wreck!!! But the ladies in the office were sweet and brought me water and mints to help try and keep me calm, and reassured me the doctor is so sweet and gentle. Well they were so right. He came in with a big smile and so kind. He explained everything he was about to do before doing it, so that nothing was a surprise. He made small talk to try and divert my attention, and was just generally a very nice man. While the shots hurt like a b*tch, that was the worst part. I didn't feel anything after that. Afterwards, while we were talking he even mentioned that if I had needed to stay in Ft Lauderdale initially he had already been thinking of names of other doctors he knows and would've called them to get me in, and all I could think was - this man is amazing!! The thoughtfulness really won me over. While I hope I don't have to see Dr John very often in the future, I'm SO extremely grateful for he and his office!!! I'm so glad that for whatever reason I was drawn to his office over the other ones. He's the exact man I was supposed to see, to help fix me up. The universe lined me up with an exception man to help get me healed and calmed. LOL So would I recommend him? Absolutely, hands-down, without a doubt YES! Highly recommend his office.

I have met with Dr. DiDonna on several occasions (pre- and post-lab work), and unlike pretty much every other doctor I have seen in recent memory, Dr. DiDonna has been the only health care practitioner to actually ASK me how I'm feeling as opposed to just reading results from a computer screen. And a special shout-out to Brit at the front desk who was super helpful in getting my insurance situation sorted out and was extremely efficient in scheduling my appointment and follow-up. She is so nice and helpful, I can only imagine her job is super stressful! Can't say enough good things about Dr. DiDonna and the crew at Dunedin Pediatrics--since my first appointment, I'm actually OFF of three prescriptions and have been feeling the best I've felt in years (I'm a 41 year old guy). If you want to see a medical professional who cares about your well being, definitely consider making an appointment. I know I'll be a patient for life (and if Dr. DiDonna ever moves, I'll be following him)!
