My first visit was in September with Dr. Cooper and extremely successful from security through admitting through transport to pre op to PACU to post op just as this surgery most recently in November. When entering the hospital, you can feel the sense that all staff are fully knowledgeable of the COVID guidelines and abide by them. This makes the patient feel comfortable with the cleanliness surrounded by them. All staff that I have interacted with during my surgeries have been professional, attentive, skilled. Since I have already posted about the first surgery I will comment on my most recent surgery. The staff beginning with the greeters to admitting all wonderful. Fe and Lisa got me on my way in preop to the anesthesiologist who was comforting due to his laid back personality. The PACU gang were also awesome Ginny C, GG, Marcella. Thank you so much for putting up with me. Erin and Jason getting me on my way to walking. Jessica was welcoming. I must give a huge thank you to Patricia and Carolos on the night shift. They were so helpful and understanding as the anesthesia worked double time of me. I have no words to express my appreciation of getting me through the night. I don't think I was this nicest patient in the middle of the night. Jessica C discharged me in a professional manner due to me probably not being the nicest patient when she did report from the nights shift. Kudos to all and MPH is fortunate to have each and everyone of you.

My endoscopy is covered 100% and I get them often due to a medical condition. I know the drill. The outpatient center always makes me pay before the procedure and I argue with them every time. Occasionally I get a bill from the anesthesiologist. They usually get taken care of by my insurance without my involvement- until this year. This company claimed it was not covered and was threatening to send my bill to collections. My insurance was also being a pain and not paying it. In order to avoid going to collections, I paid the bill. My insurance then paid it the same week when I finally got a competent person on the phone who saw it was covered and followed through. Now, when I paid the bill the anesthesia associates told me a refund would be automatically generated. Nope. That did not happen. Paid in August 2022. Sept 23, 2022, I called and inquired about a refund. They began the process. Arnold tells me 30-60 days. To call back in about 45 days for a status update and provides his employee number. October 31, 2022- speak to Divine. She tells me refunds take 60-90 days (now we are adding days!). I request a supervisor. She says one will callback in 24-48 hours. November 29, 2022- speak with May. Puts me on a list for a supervisor to call me back. Promises one will call me back by 8pm. Refuses to provide employee number. Says 60-90 days for refund (we are on day 67). November 30, 2022- speak with Rain. Says I'm on a list for a supervisor for 24-48 hour callback. I explain I'm still waiting for the one to call me back since October 31 and yesterday! Cannot verify if a refund policy exists with company when I ask for one to be emailed to me (to verify # of days). I'm still waiting and full expect to not get my $750 back after 90 days. Not one thing I have been told by anyone on the phone with this company has been truthful. Very terrible business. I'll update once this concludes.

We have always had a great experience at this center. The front desk team is professional and friendly. The nursing staff is top notch, and we were impressed by the level of before and after care. For his last surgery,(knee arthroscopy) we were out of network for the facility, but the office staff (thanks Chris) there worked with us so we did not have to change surgeons or go to the nearby hospital which would have been a huge hassle. The facility itself was spotless, and the reception areas and other rooms look almost brand new. We would recommend having an orthopedic procedure here, the service is much more personal and the experience a lot less stressful than some of the larger facilities.

That is the only reason for 2 stars. That being said, there were major problems on surgery day. While I was there there was a visit by a state representative. Perhaps they were preoccupied behind the scenes with that, but I will never know. I received a total nerve block to my arm, and then was sent to the operating room and prepped completely and given the anesthesia. I was then awake and talking with the anesthetist who began to tell me we were in a holding pattern waiting. Waiting?? There was a piece to the equipment that was needed to perform my surgery that was missing. WHAT??????? They were unable to locate a replacement piece and my surgery had to be canceled for the day. These things are supposed to be counted and checked when the procedure is completed(the previous surgery) and initialed. So, someone was negligent in sterilizing and repacking the endoscope. Luckily no incisions were made prior to the discovery but I was put under anesthesia for no reason. I am a nurse and have never heard of this before. Oh they were all apologetic but that doesn't fix it. I need to complete the procedure, but I will NEVER go back there again after this is done. My physician was not at fault directly, but he does partly own the surgical center... PLEASE ask to go somewhere else!!!!!

But even worse, full payment was required ($500 insurance deductible) before procedure would even be scheduled at all. Billing department calling me at work insisting on credit card to run payment or procedure would not be scheduled. Informed them that I would not pay a cent toward a procedure that has not even been performed, much less even scheduled. This continued up to the day before the procedure was to be done, when I was basically told that in order to be scheduled, I could either pay in full or find another provider. Which as a matter of principle I am now in the process of doing. The insurance claim could not even be collected on until after the procedure but I was required to pay the full deductible before it is even scheduled??? I was willing to pay on arrival at facility, or even after being given the courtesy of being put on the schedule and informed of the time but the provider was completely uncooperative. I have never seen a medical provider that distrusted and disrespected the patient as this provider does. If the provider cannot trust me to fulfill my responsibility of payment without going to these extremes, I could not trust the provider to perform the procedure.

I waited over an hour past my scheduled appointment time, only to be seen by the doctor for what felt like one minute. I came in because I am dealing with severe back and knee pain, yet instead of taking the time to discuss my MRI and to thoroughly evaluate my concerns and discuss treatment options, I was simply recommended supplements. What concerned me even more was that I specifically told the doctor about a medication that I had already tried and that did not work for me. Despite telling him this, he still sent a prescription for that same medication to my pharmacy. That made me feel like he was not listening to me at all during the very short time he spent with me. Meanwhile, since my appointment, the office has been calling me almost every day encouraging me to start physical therapy with them. I wish the same amount of time, attention, and follow-up had been given to actually listening to my concerns and addressing my pain. I left feeling rushed, unheard, and disappointed. Based on my personal experience, I did not feel that patient care was the priority at this office. Never again!

On Thursday, I called the office twice to confirm the time of my Friday appointment and left messages. No one returned my calls. Friday morning, I called again twice and left another message. Still no response. On Monday, I called to find out what had happened. Again, no return call. By Tuesday, after multiple unanswered messages, I was understandably frustrated and left a strongly worded message. Ashley then told me that I had cancelled Friday's appointment--which I absolutely had not. I called back and spoke with another staff member, who told me, "Sorry, doc is on vacation." So, I'm left wondering what actually happened. Either my appointment was cancelled because Dr. Gerges was overbooked/unavailable, or someone in the office cancelled it for another reason. What I do know is that I did not cancel it. Mistakes and scheduling problems happen. What I find unacceptable is repeatedly calling an office about a scheduled medical procedure, receiving no return calls, and then being told that I was the one who cancelled the appointment. A simple phone call explaining that the appointment needed to be rescheduled would have avoided this entire situation.

From the moment you walk in, you feel that this practice genuinely cares about people--not just teeth. I was first introduced to Clearwater Family Dental when I brought my mother (75, living with dementia) and my 95-year-old stepfather. The entire team made them feel safe, respected, and comfortable, and both were extremely pleased with their extractions and updated dentures. That experience alone spoke volumes. After that, I decided to become a patient myself--and I'm so grateful I did. My experience here has been night and day compared to previous dental offices. The attention to detail, education, patience, and skill of Certified Registered Dental Hygienist Nicole Osika was exceptional. As a caregiver, I had admittedly neglected my own dental care, and she truly had her work cut out for her. I only wish I had taken before-and-after photos of my cleaning--I honestly feel like I have brand-new teeth! What stands out most is that this practice is clearly not driven by money alone. It's evident that management truly cares about their employees, their patients, and even the environment, embracing a more natural and holistic approach to dental health. I'm incredibly grateful that practices like Clearwater Family Dental still exist. Highly, highly recommend. Thanks to the whole team!

The waiting room had cushy chairs and even had a couple of sofas. A few days ahead of time, the Belleair Surgical Center staff call you to set your time to come in. They answer questions and acquire any additional information that they may need. If you complete the online pre-surgical history section of their web site, it will only take a few minutes to check in on the day. I did do that and my registration only took about 5 minutes. I have had this procedure before but this time everything ran on schedule. The pre-op prep went well as did the procedure itself. After they unplug your IV, there is a relaxing waiting room where you sit to speak with your doctor. Next time I go, I would rather speak with my physician in private rather than in front of strangers. I will request a private room for my physician's consultation. Since 'the fall', I have had 4 surgeries on my nose and in doing so, I have encountered some of the best medical people out there who really define the word 'caring'. I wrote a review on Bardmoor Surgery Center in Largo where I had one of my surgeries done but this review is concerning Belleair Surgery Center. It seems in addition to infrastructure damage in my nose, a biopsy revealed a basal cell carcinoma which my doctor said had to be removed. OK. It appeared to resemble a simple indentation one gets from wearing glasses so I was told surgery would take one hour and a few cuts would enable skin to cover the damaged site. Checking into the surgery center was so simple and straightforward. First off, it's an absolutely lovely lobby with tall ceilings and comfortably appointed with nice furniture. Everyone wore masks and social distance, as expected and the entire process went smoothly. Patty came out, introduced herself to me and said she would be my nurse for the preparation for surgery. Not real talkative but one of the fastest check ins I have ever had. When it was time to insert the IV needle, I warned her of how difficult it was to find a vein but I didn't know I was talking to the 'Queen of Phlebotomy'! Wow!!! One stick and I never felt it!!!!!! Usually everyone is in tears trying to get the needle settled firmly in place. Every single employee at that facility was unbelievably kind, professional and concerned about my comfort. The surgery itself morphed into more than anyone thought, but the staff was so gentle and concerned that I was not in pain and reassured me that everything would turn out fine as my doctor was one of the best! I needed that coddling, trust me! The usual follow up call was more than to reaffirm that I survived and the gentleman was concerned that I was handling the pain and taking medications on time. I honestly felt like we had known each other for a long time and our conversation lasted a good 20 minutes. See, that's fantastic medical attention and not just treating me like a number. The point is, after a month of having a flap that will cover the area of concern, I am returning to Belleair for hopefully my 5th and final surgery. On the other hand, I almost look forward to seeing the fantastic staff and rest comfortably, knowing I am in totally competent hands of people who are true professionals and treat the patient like she/he is the only one they are attending to!!!! It means a lot and I applaud their attitude, skills and kindness.
