My 7 year old daughter and I were followed around the store, being two of the few minorities in range I tried to be positive, and after spending over 150$ compared to those who came in and grabbed a couple of items you'd think I'd be treated with respect as a valued customer. NOPE, the self check-out clerk, (not even the person I checked out with as I went through the normal line due to having so many items) stopped us and asked if we had paid for our sodas. I checked the receipt as again I had worked with two other clerks who had taken care of such and verified I did. This was embarrassing, harassment, and terrifying for my daughter who spoke about the experience for days after. While all this occurred plenty of people continued to check out in the area she was supposed to be watching, where actual theft could have occurred due to her involvement in a situation that didn't concern her. This was on February 9th and the associates name was Daniela. I would have given two stars as it's a beautiful store but after reporting this to corporate the manager was supposed to contact me that same day . That never occurred, so to see them responding here is quite irritating . read more

Lately, everytime I purchase a premade fruit bowl, I am constantly noticing that the raspberries are moldy and the melons are too aged. Packaging says best through July 13 but it's only the 10th and things are already bad . Why are we packaging older fruit for purchase? read more

So I Revisited Tom Thumb On August 7th which was 1 week after my original review and things were different in a good way. This time they had T-bone steaks advertised and they were in stock, And that made me a very happy individual. I just wanted to let my review reflect the change. I will Make sure to revisit every time they have an exceptional item featured in their ad to make sure that this wasn't a one-off or fluke brought on by my original complaint. Hopefully, this is the new normal and they will continue to have their advertised T-bone steaks and ribeye steaks well-stocked as they were the weekend of August 7th and 8th 2021. Also on my most recent visit, I found something extraordinary at Tom Thumb that I didn't even know they carried, "Black's BBQ" which is a rather Famous BBQ restaurant that originates in the Lockhart Texas area. When I lived in that area I would visit quite often and I am happy to see that they carry their products. Now I don't know if they have these items from Black's BBQ all the time or if it's a seasonal thing or a one-off but whatever the case maybe I was super happy to buy some black original sausage. Last but not least I would like to mention that I have always viewed Tom Thumb in a positive light and a great place to shop Regardless of my original complaint in my original review So be sure to stop by and check them out. read more

It's the best grocery store in the area. It's easy to get to, and: - Has a top notch Meat/Butcher section where you can get really good deals on high quality meat. I love their weekly/bi-weekly deals on beef (ribeye, Porterhouse, NY). They also have Alaskan Salmon which is rare, and other seafood options that are not farm-raised. - Has a very well stocked and organized produce section. It's not farmer's market quality on the fruit, but it's better than any of the other grocery store as far as quality, freshness, and setup. - Has good weekly deals that you can get on your app - Has a good beer selection - The staff is always friendly. I've not yet run into a Tom Thumb employee who is grumpy, and we've been going weekly since it opened. Kudos to this store! read more

This store can be best described as a crappy boyfriend. When we first started seeing each other, he wooed me with fast, friendly checkouts and kind offers to walk my groceries to my car. There was a lot of love in those early days, and I felt like a princess! As our relationship progressed, my heart belonged only to him, but his attention waned. It started with longer checkout lines. Before I knew it, he wasn't even helping me bag my groceries. And I can't begin tell you the last time he asked to walk me to my car. This afternoon, as I stood in the single open checkout line, bagging a full cart of groceries on my own, I couldn't help but wonder- where did the love go??? read more

This is our local grocery store and they do have the freshest fruits/ vegetables. The store is very clean and and 95% of employees are very nice and helpful however there is a manager in the meat department by the name Joe that is very unprofessional and always has an attitude about everything . I have had numerous interactions with him and every time is the same attitude to the point where i can't enjoy the rest of my shopping. It seems to me that the meat department has gone down hill. I use to deal with a young gentleman named Gavin i believe and he was always very helpful and never gave me an attitude like Joe does. I now skip the meat counter just so i don't have to deal with him. Other than that the store is very nice just stay away from Joe! read more

I was just denied the Covid 19 booster shot by this Tom Thumb because of a stupid policy about when walk ins are accepted, which apparently is 5pm during the week. I'm trying to be understanding but there were no other customers in the pharmacy are but because of a technicality I can't get the booster despite the current spike in cases we are seeing from the Omicron variant. This store is the cleanest store around! They take great care to ensure the health of their customers! When you enter the store, there is a friendly staff member to ensure your basket is clean and help you obtain it from the cart storage. This person sets the mood for shopping by greeting you with friendly comments. Beginning your shopping is a pleasure as well. The store is extremely clean and neat. Friendly staff members around every corner. Deli food is very good and always fresh. Bakery has some of the friendliest staff. They always greet with a smile and are very helpful not to mention some great bakers! The meat department has the best meat and seafood. It seems that there is always an issue in shopping at this store, so I've gone back to Kroger, or elsewhere. There are never enough checkouts open and I refuse to spend an hour shopping, checking myself out, and bagging my own groceries without a discount. And woe be to the person who failed to "clip" a digital coupon before entering the store. The wifi doesn't work and you're likely to be admonished like I was with a, "Don't you "clip" the coupons before you shop?" like I was. On my last visit there were four or five very sorry heads of lettuce residing on the shelf. I asked an older man if there were any fresher choices. He brought out a box, I took one, and he piled the rest on top of the others without checking their condition. Clearly, I was the problem. If the store is going to give the best discount on items such as soda, it would be great if there was enough product to make that happen. The store was great when it opened, but things changed and this place isn't worth the hassle-and there seems to always be a hassle of some sort. read more

I tried their grocery pick up. All I can say is that it's awesome. Order was due at 12pm but they had it ready by 10 am two hours early! The manager is exceptional! She is attentive and friendly and goes above and beyond for the customers. I will continue to use this store and drop the other I've been using! Kudos!!! read more

We are so happy this store is open. It is kept very clean. The made to order food is great. We often make salads at their salad bar. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to help you. If you're going to lock a Door on a busy Saturday, Maybe consider not blocking the one for where disability parking is. My mother did not see the sign parked in a disabled spot worked her way out of the car to go to the pharmacy and your doors are locked in the middle of the day. I'm a regular shopper and I love the store but not the female manager. I finally got her name, Donna. She's rude to employees and acts like she hates her job! After she talks to the employees you can tell she has ruined their day! I understand you're a manager but leave the attitude and smart ass comments to your self! Terrible customer service. Don't waste your time ordering online to be picked up at the Tom Thumb in Heath, Texas. I've ordered twice over the past two weeks. I went to the store to pick up the first order. I was told they didn't receive their truck as it was canceled. No phone call from the store to inform me. I was told the order was canceled and I would need to place it again. I placed a second order with the earliest pick up date and time. The earliest available pick up time was three days later. My order was scheduled to be picked up today at 3p. I received a call from the store clerk telling me they received the items but had already sold them to the people standing in line. They didn't have my order since they pick orders three hours before you pick up time and their customers had already purchased the items I ordered. The items were non-perishable. I asked why they had not pulled my items and put them aside when their truck arrived. She said they don't do that. They pull orders three hours prior to scheduled pick up. So what's the point in taking your time to order online if they are not ensuring your items will be held for the pick up date and time they require? I asked to speak with the store manager. No surprise...not available. Back to Kroger...more reliable and lower prices. read more
