I love this place. I recently went vegetarian and I'm able to get the bulk of my groceries here for very cheap! I filled my cart for less than $30 here and had a couple weeks worth of meals. There are tons of meat free, organic, gluten free foods here. I love that the inventory is constantly changing. The produce is priced very well, making it easy to grab ingredients for meals at a fraction of the price you'd pay anywhere else. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. read more

Guys beware , I went there today thinking it would be just like the advertisements, however I was very disappointed, Most items i purchased had all expired dates on them. Make sure to check the dates when you guys are buying from this place. I will not be going to this place again, and I do not recommend it to anyone. They have good prices on produce and their frozen products. However, keep in mind they do carry items that are months out of date. You definitely need a meal plan to buy the items to cook and eat right away. Don't go if you tend to buy things and forget it. Also, just use your judgement. Yes, this place had a great selection on snacks and drinks. I enjoy seeing they have fresh produce too and sometimes seasonal food. They offer some foods in bulk. The seasoning section has a wide range of cooking styles. I do like the prices on ice cream treats too . Some good snacks treats for doggie and cat food is really good brand options . I love this place and I'm so grateful that low income areas, that I grew up in, have access to great produce and plant based foods for a lower cost!! It may not look like a whole foods but don't sleep on this place. My mother used to come years ago and everything was expired--NOW produce is fresh and they even have name brands that are organic/gluten free/and vegan. I am super specific about the products I eat, and was shocked when they had all of my favorite low carb high protein brands! My favorite Owyn vegan protein shakes were 50% less than the Target or Walmart price. The workers here are nice and helpful, it is a bit congested but everything is organized and easy to find. A few things may be expired but a quick date check is all it takes, something we all do in any other grocery store. I'll be back to check for seasonal fruits and veggies. read more

Finally made a stop at Grocery Clearance Center and I will be back! The prices for all the items I saw beat what I've seen in traditional stores. They had everything from collagen and health supplements to fresh produce and all sorts of items in between. This is a discount store with items close to expiry, and a few that have passed their "best by" date. Just be sure to inspect packaging. For this price point in these crazy economic times, Grocery Clearance will be a regular in my shopping rotation moving forward. read more

This place was so cool. If you are looking for specialty foods this places prices were incredibly good. I first Google the place and had wanted to go for months. I was expecting a close out cleanse food products. But got a huge surprise at the stuff they carry. Olives of all kinds at great prices. Real Greek yogurts and many types of specialty cheese. This store isn't for everyone but if you like good products that are hard to find this is such a gem of a find. read more

The items are discounted and their placed on the shelves in the best order possible but the deals are there‍. I saw some deals on some items that I definitely will not be going to Kroger's and buying anymore If you are in the neighborhood or you even close by you have to make this your priority just to walk into this store and walk around and look and see if you see what you really want to get. They've reopened after a very bad fire last year and they're even better than they were before. The entire store has been refurbished, remodeled and meticulously rebuilt to maximize the space. The shelves are taller, the coolers are bigger and the selection vastly improved. It's everything it was and more!! The owner, Gary, has brought it back after being closed 334 days. He is there everyday, with a smile and greets everyone he comes in contact with. He is truly happy you're there. This business has honestly saved so many people, including myself, a ton of money on their grocery bills. I dropped $50 there last week and it was easily $25/$30 cheaper than Kroger. GC is still Awesome! We bring our coolers now for each trip since we have to drive over 30 to 50 mins. Love their friendly staff! They have the biggest plexiglass at the cash registers for social distancing that we have seen!! We like to select organic and vegetarian food products and it has been easy to do that this summer. We highly recommend going on their web page to check out their current selections. They have so much selections that the owner cannot show everything, so we also try to look what's in his background during the video. Treasure hunting for deals! We checked out Grocery Clearance this weekend and had a blast filling our cart with stuff usually too exphad a suprising amount of quality items that cost much more at other stores. Only a few things were expired and they had well stocked freezer section with cheeses and hard to find frozen goods. We went for the first time today. We have five kids so are forever looking for ways to save money. The owner noticed we were new and sought us out to introduce himself. He was very nice. They have an extremely large selection of vegan, vegetarian and keto approved products. Lots of specialty things at a steep discount such as Swerve baking mixes, etc. We got lots of new things to try. We really came for the meats. We got $120 worth of bacon for $40. In this economy, that makes a significant difference for our family. We got lots of other meats, too. We also found some fun hidden treasures like dessert pizzas and super fancy gourmet cookies. We drove over an hour to get there and it was definitely worth it. The staff was all kind, knowledgeable and helpful. One guy busted our pickles and we didn't even notice because he ran so quickly to exchange it. Highly, highly recommend. read more

I have LITERALLY seen brands in here that I see at Whole Foods but for 70% cheaper. For real, for real. When I describe this store to people I usually compare it to the food section at Big Lots but way bigger and with better stuff. It's a surplus food store so some items are high end brands and others appear to be intended for use in commercial or institutional kitchens. And be sure to check expiration dates, especially on the perishable items. Now just a heads up, the parking lot has not been repaved in about 80 years and the building the store is in looks a bit sketch from the outside, but don't mind any of that. I came here on the recommendation of a fellow Yelper and my visit confirmed and even went beyond my high hopes. Grocery Clearance Center is my new favorite place to keep an eye on for unbelievable food bargains. It's one thing to have discounted goods; it's quite another to have inventory that I am either already buying or would like to buy. To get the low down on Grocery Clearance Center, look for Rhonda A.'s 5/2017 review. That's not something I would usually say; but she has captured the nuance of GCC and honestly, a year later, I have little to add. It being Labor Day Weekend, produce is still peaking and the walk in cooler is piled high. I would have bought more fruit; but I had already done most of our weekly shopping. Everything I saw was in beautiful condition. Raspberries 2 pints for $1 and Eggplants 49 cents a lb. came with me. I saw Name Brands carried at Central Market and Sprouts. I bought Nancy's Cottage Cheese for $1, Finlandia Cheese Spread for $1, Sabra Hummus for 50 cents, and a Jennie O's fully cooked 4 lb.Turkey Breast for $8.00. All of the expiration dates were for much later except for the hummus. I will say this. If you are a person who needs room around you; the walk in cooler is not for you when it's busting with so much produce! The aisles are no wider than a box of fruit which is why you have to leave your shopping cart outside. But it's a vault of treasure in there to be sure! One aisle of the store has freezers, there is a wall with refrigeration; but not too much in it at this time; a narrow aisle of goods in boxes and two or three more aisles of shelved items. There is a ton of coffee here and high end packaged snacks and convenience foods - Organic and non and so on; it's not organized by category in the aisle of boxes and the freezers have such a wide variety of items - both areas can make your head spin. We were really just testing the waters here, anyway; but I saw ciabatta in the walk in and a wedge of Fontina cheese for a $1 that I left behind. I had to draw the line somewhere. There are serious savings for seriously edible eats here. Everything was very clean and everyone was helpful and pleasant. Sometimes new arrivals weren't priced; but someone was happy to help. There are price labels on things vs. scanning and your items are punched in on the cash register and then you're on your way - for a whole lot less money. read more

You can get almost-expired items here for cheap. I spent $40 on something that would have cost me $150 at the regular store. Really varies from day to day. I suggest checking out their Facebook page in advance because they post what has come in. If you are looking to buy produce, wear a sweater or coat! They keep it all in a walk-in refridgerator that is quite cold! Be sure to check to make sure your items aren't fully expired. Today I googled for a discount grocery store. We found this diamond in the rough. On first glance you would think.....Ok this is the place. So you park, get out the car...look around, nice baskets. Go into the store see some familiar name brands, check out the prices. I was soooooo pleased to see items that I purchase on a weekly basis this cheap. My kids were happy putting items in the basket. We enjoy organic foods....Just not the prices...Until Now!!! The store is clean and organized with reasonable prices. The checkers and stockers are courteous and very helpful. I visited the Grocery Clearance Center for the first time yesterday, and was blown away. It's an overstock store, so most packaged food is past the "best by" date - though of course, that doesn't mean it's bad or rotten, as those dates really are just suggestions of when the food is at best quality, and food generally lasts much longer (https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/features/do-food-expiration-dates-matter#1) A surprising amount of their packaged food is organic (and some, but not most, produce), and I found an amazing array of vegan dairy, including high end brands that they don't even sell at my local Central Market or Whole Foods, for absurdly low prices. For example: I got Kite Hill vegan ricotta for $1 (normally $10); fancy almond-based vegan cream cheese for $1, Annie's boxed vegan mac n cheese for $1 (normally $3), Kite Hill and So Delicious Unsweetened vegan yogurts for $1 or $2 each, vegan almond-based organic dips for 50 cents each (!), aged cultured vegan cheese shreds and slices from Parmela for $2.50 each, and Daiya vegan cheese shreds for $2 (normally $4.50+). Oh, and Sweet Earth seitan for $2.50, as well as Lightlife frozen vegan dinners for $2. And organic crackers to eat with my non-dairy cheese bounty! The inventory at Grocery Clearance changes all of the time, so you won't find all of the same items each time you go. But based on how much vegan and organic food was there when I visited (and what other reviewers have said), I suspect their supply of high-end and plant-based food is always plentiful. read more

To paraphrase Forrest Gump, this place is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you'll find until you step inside. If you're ok with buying food products that are near or past their sell by date this place is a wonderland. A low rent wonderland to be sure, but a wonderland just the same. On our last visit they had Cliff Bar boxes of seven 5 for $10 or $2.49 each. They have a walk in cooler with bargain basement prices on such things as fresh mushrooms and yogurt. They had cage free eggs laid by "vegetarian chickens" (I kid you not) for $2.49 a dozen. Of course you've got to pick and choose. If you've got any doubts about an item, put it down. But everything is guaranteed. Although I didn't buy any this time, in the past I've gotten the big jars of Jiff peanut butter that was well before the sell by date. A health nut friend of mine told me about this place and raved about the amazing prices on gluten free and organic products. She told me that the store sells nearly expired/"expired" food that is totally still good and safe to eat. I'm so glad I gave this place a try. My family and I came in today for the first time and as we walked in we were greeted by the owner Gary. He is so friendly and sincere. He immediately told us how the business works and offered to help us with anything we needed. He shook our hands and thanked us for coming. Our first stop was the giant walk in refrigerator where we found a 12 pack of vanilla Chobani Greek yogurts for $1! I ate one when we got home to see if it was too good to be true, and it tasted perfect. Not the slightest bit weird. Next we continued to peruse the aisles and picked up tons of organic stuff for crazy cheap prices! I kept shaking my head in disbelief because I am used to paying three times the amount for the same products. Again, I want to stress that the products we purchased (macaroni and cheese, crackers, graham crackers) all taste completely fresh. If you didn't tell me they were "expired" I would never know. If you're on the fence you should at least come by and look around yourself. My husband and I have decided to come here first on our shopping runs every weekend. read more

Well Mama always said to keep your words sweet because you may have to eat them; and here I am eating my words!!! Thanks to the other reviews on this store I decided to give this place a second chance. Boy am I glad!!! Wow, wow, wow, what a transformation! The place was neat, clean and orderly. I found lots of gluten free items mixed in with the other items but not in disarray, it was more like gluten free cookies with the cookies, GF crackers with the regular crackers, etc. I did have to really look careful but it wasn't like the last time. So this place is tops on my list now. The staff is very friendly and I met one of the owners of the store and we have a mutual friend in San Diego. In fact he addressed me by my full name, much to my surprise, because we don't do last names on Yelp, but it was because of our mutual friend on FaceBook. I got great bargains and hugs today. I feel like I found a new secret... and I want to tell everybody! Grocery Clearance Center is AWESOME. It's packed with high quality products at incredible prices. We did 2 weeks of shopping there yesterday and saved about $200 over what we would spend at Costco. Plus last night, we ate the Brisket Burgers and they were delicious. The owner, Gary, is in the aisles helping everybody. They've been in business for 25 years, and once you go, you'll understand why. It's about a 30 minute trip for us, but well worth it! So Don't let this stores appearance fool you yes it's in an empty pretty much empty parking lot right behind the gas station but once you go in there they have a very very good variety of non-organic,ORGANIC and even VEGAN yes I said it! I've recently started moving into more vegan options and let me tell you it's not Cheap going to other grocery stores. But here I've found more NonDairy options like Almond milk for $1.50 instead on the regular $4.25. Daiya creamy ranch and Cesar salad dressing for $1.50 instead of $4-6. Snacks chips MEATLESS MEATBALLS $1.99 unheard off ! So Delicious ice cream regularly $4.89 here was $2 !!! TIP: keep an eye on expiration dates on things before you buy specially dairy products or things in the fridge section things from there can last you anywhere from having a shelf life of 5 more weeks to expiration dates months away. Located in Oak Cliff, the Grocery Clearance Center is classified as a food surplus and salvage grocery store. Now, dont let that title scare you. Their products are the same labeled, high quality food you have bought at the big name box stores. GCC products are over stock or inventory mish mashes of sorts that are perfectly safe. Their doors have been open since June of 1993 and they are still going strong. So they are definitely filling a void that consumers appreciate Business is bustling and customers are saving. A lot. Who has time and money running around to various stores for speciality items that are organic, gluten free, fresh, and priced right? Here, it's a perfect trifecta of high quality, convenient, and priced to move products all under one roof. One could drive right past it's humble presence, but judging a book or a store by its appearance is fruitless. Yes, the parking lot is a bit bumpy, so slow down. And yes, there isn't a high end look to the buildings facade. But, none of these things matter to my wallet or mind. The savings are just out of this world fantastic. One can easily cut your grocery bill in half by shopping here, all while getting higher quality organic and healthier food products. And for safety, item are still carefully packaged. Never have I had a stale or rancid cracker or pasta. Their fresh refrigerated produce is out this world heavenly. Organic raspberries for a $1.50. A big fresh bundle of Asparagus for $2. Greek style organic yogurts for a couple dollars. Big bags of grapes are $1.00 a pound. These are huge savings. And there is always tons to choose from. I know I will be buying in bulk and freezing for those off winter days. Now does this store have every item I am hoping for, not everything. But whatever they are selling fresh, is a welcomed item on my food menu. So buy and enjoy what is in season. Which tends to be healthier and more economical anyways.
