I came in for a consultation when things started opening up but there was a bit of confusion that may have resulted in a longer waiting time than usual. They took an X-ray of my teeth, instructed me to sit back down in the waiting room, and told me they would be right with me in five minutes. After calling me into a room, they showed me my X-rays while Dr. Herbst sat me down and gave me a detailed explanation of what was going on. They were ready to do the procedure that day but I had already had a full meal and was recommended to go under general anesthesia given that all four of my teeth were impacted and needed to be removed. There were problems with my insurance but, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me and for that, I am forever grateful. I then booked the procedure for the week after for 9 am, when the office opens. During every visit during this pandemic, only the patient is allowed into the office. They do not let you in until they check your temperature, and only if you have an appointment. I appreciate these things given the settings I've seen in other practices where social distancing is nonexistent. In times like this safety is a plus! They brought me into the room and asked me if I had any other questions before the procedure. They then introduced me to the team that was working on my teeth that day and then that's all I remember! After that, the only thing I remember is checking my watch and seeing that it was only 9:46 when they finished the procedure and I woke up, with them ready to escort me to the car. Dr. Herbst is such a warm, friendly individual and so is the rest of her staff! Would recommend going through them as wisdom teeth extraction can be a scary process but they made every step comfortable!

They called 6 months later stating there was an issue with the coverage and now I owe an additional 500$ out of pocket and it will shortly go to collections due to the timeframe. There are numerous reports of patients facing unexpected bills, even after the office made it seem that everything was resolved with insurance and payment. In April, I had my teeth extracted by Dr. Isabelle DeMatteis. This clinic was everything I did not expect as a patient. As a patient, you trust that the office will care for you, and this includes making sure you can afford the treatment. I read the reviews and felt hesitant, but I decided to trust the clinic because many times I asked about my treatment, and they made me believe it could not cost more than the amount indicated, as they were handling the insurance. Now, I completely regret not listening to other patients. From what I see in reviews, the clinic has a pattern of sending unexpected bills after treatment has already been completed, which leads me to believe that the office has little interest in giving patients information on how to get an accurate quote from insurance regarding the cost of treatment. I only confirmed my appointment after receiving the treatment plan, trusting that the office had checked with my insurance as I was told. At no point--neither in person nor via message--was I informed that the final cost could be so drastically different, or that I might need another prior authorization. At no time was I advised to check with my insurance or request a prior authorization myself. I ended up being charged over $2,000 for two wisdom tooth extractions. I had this treatment because of pain, and I feel shocked and misled--I believed I was being properly cared for, and now I feel deceived. Where are Dr. Paul Calat and Dr. Michele? It seems that the dentists at this clinic are not at all concerned with the many negative reviews from patients who felt misled by the office. Clear communication and guidance regarding insurance and costs would go a long way toward preventing unnecessary stress. I am taking steps to understand my rights as a patient. During my follow-up visit, my results were not out at the time, so the doctor assured me that the office will reach out to me via phone to tell me the results. Months past and I've followed-up with the office multiple times on the phone. Each time I called, I received the same "we are not in THAT office today, I will have someone get back you, tomorrow". The receptionist and I must have very different perceptions of "tomorrow" is because I have never heard back from the office. In addition, the office insisted that I pay during the day of my surgery for my co-pay and surgery fees because they've reached out to my insurance company and know "about-how-much-I-was-supposed to pay." I received a break down from my insurance company a week after my surgery and it turns out, the receptionist charged me 50% more than what my bill was supposed to be.
