We went to buy a car at the advertised online price. Once we went in we were told about almost $3000 worth of add ons that drove the price up. Apex GPS $995, windshield protectant $699, dent removal $ 495, paint and interior protection $499. The first 2 mentioned were already put on the vehicle and not included in the online price and we would be forced to pay for these things we didn't want. In another review they responded " We offer value-added options, as most customers find tremendous value in the offerings. If there was an option that was not already attached to the price of the vehicle, they are just that...options." These most certainly were not options and we walked away. See the attached texts from the dealer. For future customers, this is an illegal practice deemed by the Federal Trade Commission and you should, as we did, report this to the Department of Motor Vehicles. I just purchased a 2026 Ford Expedition Max Platinum from here and worked with Rod "The Aggie" Deason. We had a great experience. He was knowledgeable and worked with us on our trade in. I love my vehicle so far. I guess the only thing I'd say for anyone looking to buy this vehicle: I purchased it because it was almost exactly like the Lincoln Navigator I test drove. The Navigator just had too much tech (and I'm a techy person). This vehicle had just the right amount of tech without being over the top. However, I did not opt for the additional $7k upgrade and wish I would have. Rod mentioned that one of the differences would be road noise. During test driving I didn't feel that I heard much road noise, so I thought it was fine to save some money. It's not "road" noise I hear, but actual car noise. I'd imagine what I'm hearing is what Rod meant and I just didn't understand because I don't deal with this every day. Hindsight, I wish I would have upgraded $7k more. The noise isn't awful, but coming from a quieter Navigator to this, I can hear the difference now. I still love my car, but wish I would have test driven one with and one without the noise reduction to fully understand the difference. Oh well. All we requested was communication, and it was as if we were a burden. And the reason we could not pick up the car was the dealer's fault. Should have listened to the reviews and went elsewhere. We just bought a new car from Tomball Ford. Our salesman, Q, was great, David the sales manager was great, and our finance manager was great. However, their support staff could do better providing more up to date information to them. They will offer you dirt on your trade (I was offered nearly $8k more at a different Ford dealership) and you'll never get the online pricing. If you question them, they'll insult you and then just ignore you. They use loss-leaders...those nicely priced vehicles that always "just sold yesterday" but still sit on their website for MONTHS (VIN FTFW7L8XSFB38292 is a perfect example of this). They'll require dealer add-ons....they wouldn't budge on a several thousand dollar upcharge for a tracker that is only useful to them if you don't make your payments. Have yourself From getting screwed. All of the other dealerships in the Houston rate A- or higher with the BBB, run legitimate ads, are far more transparent, and will give you more for a trade if you go that route. I brought my F-150 to Tomball Ford after a starting issue that ultimately turned out to be a bad battery. Instead of proper due diligence, the service department escalated immediately to catastrophic conclusions, including recommending a long block replacement and initially floating charges that would have exceeded $18,000. I was charged $1,162.51 in "diagnostic fees" despite no meaningful root cause being identified. Basic steps--like properly load-testing the battery--were either missed or ignored. I was also given inaccurate and contradictory information by staff, including being told a starter had already been installed when it had not. An independent shop replaced the battery and the issue resolved. This entire ordeal caused unnecessary downtime, rental car expenses, and weeks of stress. Communication afterward has been slow and evasive. I have filed formal complaints and will update this review once the matter is fully resolved. At this time, I cannot recommend Tomball Ford's service department. UPDATE 1/17/26: After escalation to service leadership, Tomball Ford issued a refund that covered both the diagnostic charges and my rental expenses. The situation was ultimately resolved once the Service Director became involved. That said, this outcome required significant persistence and escalation on my part, and the issues I experienced were the result of poor communication, inconsistent diagnostics, and avoidable confusion at the advisor/manager level. While I appreciate the final resolution, I hope process improvements are made so future customers don't have to go through the same ordeal. read more

Incompetent, Dismissive While traveling through Houston I took my vehicle to Tomball Ford quick lane for an oil change and replacement of a broken key. After waiting 5 hours, Tomball Ford completed the work and I resumed my trip. Stopping for gas roughly 300 miles away I discovered that my original vehicle key would not start the engine. Tomball Ford had deprogrammed my original key when programming the replacement. I contacted Tomball Ford twice requesting reimbursement for the money I had to pay to have my original key reprogrammed. Tomball Ford has refused to respond, even to the Texas department of Consumer Affairs. Everyone makes mistakes, how a company responds lets you know their character. For an oil change and a new key, Tomball Ford charged $352.88 and tried to upcharge me on service. Not a dealer I would recommend. read more

TL;DR: Beware of the "required" Apex Protect that they force you to add for $995 on top of your agreed price but fail to mention until you're signing the paperwork. I purchased a used GMC Yukon from Tomball Ford in June. When I decided I was interested, I called the salesman, and after some negotiation over the phone, we agreed on a price. When I was signing the paperwork, I noticed they added a $995 charge for something called Apex Protect. There had been no mention of this up to this point and I had never heard of it previously. He described it as "LoJack". He said the first year of service was included so that I can track the location of my vehicle at any time from my phone, and it included Theft Recovery assistance. He also told me that after the first year, Theft Recovery would still work even if I didn't want to pay for the Apex service. (Note: I later called Apex directly, and they confirmed that is not correct and that if I don't pay after the first year, there is no service available at all, including Theft Recovery.) I told him I did not want this and that I had no need for it. I told him that the GMC has OnStar built in that offers real time vehicle location, along with many other features for far less than this. He insisted that it was "required". Required by who? The dealership, Tomball Ford. If it is required, why was it not included in the price that we discussed and agreed upon? The salesman claimed "every dealership adds fees like this". That is patently false. I had "drive out" quotes from four other dealerships (including another Ford dealership in Houston that same day). None had a "required" add-on fee that was not mentioned until after we had agreed on a price. After a lot of circular conversation and zero explanation of the benefits I was getting from Tomball Ford's required service, I was tired of wasting my time and agreed to pay $500, just to finish the deal. Honestly, I regret that I did. The fact that Tomball Ford utilizes shady sales tactics like this and blatantly lies to their customers is deplorable, and I wish I had walked away and continued my search elsewhere. Fast forward weeks after the purchase: I still had not received any info on how to activate Apex. As far as I know, the dealership still had access to track the location of my vehicle unlawfully. Even worse, I had to contact them multiple times before I was finally able to get the info to transfer the Apex service to my name so the dealership could no longer see my location. In the unlucky circumstance that you must buy from this place, be sure to tell them up front that you will not pay for Apex Protect or that it must be included in your total agreed price so that you are comparing apples to apples pricing of more honest dealerships. read more

Interestingly enough, they actually offered a good price on the trade and we agreed on a truck. Not done yet. After over 6 hours at the dealership I'm finally sitting down with the finance manager. Of course they tacked a few thousand dollars of additional protections/warranties in, which they are explaining without explaining the price. I told them I do not need gap insurance, as I have that option through my auto insurance. The finance guy told me immediately to cancel because there's no way it was cheaper. Well it's $12/policy term with Progressive or $1000 at the dealer. He didn't understand there are other options and it seemed he was quite upset at not getting that part of his commission. I am writing this review 3 years after buying my vehicle. This is to share my lessons-learned and help future buyers be informed. I take full responsibility for trusting what I was told. I should have read the fine print on what I signed. #1 - Apex GPS solution. The owner of tomball Ford and Tomball Dodge (same owner) also are owner of APEX. They use their dealerships to buy product from their other company. A good money-maker and I can't fault the owner for pulling this off. #2 - Apex GPS. The sales people already know you will not want it, so they don't disclose it until the very end of the process, knowing this will make you more likely to agree. They are told it is not an option to remove it because it is "already installed" - but in reality, it takes less than 10 minutes to remove (ask any good thief) and if you walk away from the deal they will eventually cave. #3 - Apex GPS. Fordpass app does 95% of what this does. Only buy it if you need the 5%...hardly anyone does. #4 - Apex windshield insurance. Avoid. Nanoshield/windshield insurance was sold to me as "fix any problem" with my windshield. I recently needed to use it, and it only covers $100 and expires after 3 years. I spent MUCH more than $100 for the policy and was lied to directly by the sales lady who insisted it would cover multiple windshield replacements. Read the fine print. #5 - Apex warranty. Avoid. If you want an extended warranty, stick with the genuine Ford extended warranty. That is accepted at any Ford location. The Apex warranty has many more limitations that will bite you when you need it. #6 - Ford extended warranty (ESP) - Research online before buying at Tomball ford. Tomball will try to charge you 2x or 3x more than what you can pay online. I will say that I have generally had a good experience with the service department and am comfortable in recommending them. My warning is for car buyers - learn from my mistakes, and avoid any of the addons that have APEX in their name. read more

Took my car in for warranty work and the perfectly fine headlight came home with water in it. I called about it the same day I picked it up and brought it back and they refused to acknowledge it could even possibly be their fault (even unintentionally) and called it "coincidental." The odds of that are pretty low. They also wrecked the front of my car when I brought it back in to get the light looked at and tried to let it go undetected. They are fixing that. read more

This truck was for commuting from Tomball to my farm about 2 hours away. Chris helped me narrow down my choices. I went for a test drive, and then we worked out the numbers. Avoid Tomball Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership at all costs. In 40 years of buying new cars I have never had such an incredibly awful/deceitful experience...I could never have imagined. My salesman provided me with a written sales price via email on a new Jeep after my first visit to the dealership. When I returned to have my trade in appraised the sales manager advised me that I didn't qualify for the manufacturer rebate I was quoted in writing....which coincidentally was approximately the same amount as the dealer discount I had been offered in writing. When I brought this to the sales manager's attention he began yelling at me and continued to yell at me as I walked out of the dealership...Outrageous! I immediately contacted Stellantis/Jeep's corporate customer service/manufacturer incentive counselor and was told that I fully qualified for the manufacturer's incentive and that the only requirement was that the vehicle be in the dealership's inventory. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Brought my truck in May for recall and sunroof fix. Went to pick up my truck and found body damage to my rear fender. No one disclosed this to us, we had to report it. We bring it back with the promise of it will be fixed and please don't leave us a bad review. If I could laugh hard online for all to hear this would be the time. My truck was taken to Tomball Collision (yes shame on them too) 7 times for corrections under Tomball Ford's supervision . Between paint color being off, air bubbles, additional dents, scuffs, etc. It was an absolute nightmare. The 8th correction to the body work was done on site. Additionally, on one attempt to pick up my truck we found a random dog bowl in my truck that didn't belong to us. To this day no one has given us an answer as to why. They also damaged my back window American Flag Decal. Clearly, they do not care about their customers, their money, time or belongings. We hardly received updates. Most importantly, I never recieved an apology until 2 months after when I finally picked up my truck from a gentleman who had never been involved. This was today! I'm still awaiting a follow up from management regarding the dog bowl and damaged sticker. Valentine was the person supposedly "managing" the situation. He is rude, cocky and will tell you nothing is wrong when it is completely wrong. He also lies to your face saying management isn't on site and that's he's never seen you before. Funny how when we met the first time it was messed up. He also stated "well it won't ever be perfect". Wrong answer when your dealership did the damage to my truck. "Retail customer cash" refers to a rebate or incentive offered directly to a customer by a manufacturer when they purchase a product at retail, usually in the form of a cash back amount that can be applied towards the final price of the item, essentially lowering the cost for the buyer; ..." I explained what I just said and he then waived me off to leave. A young man asked in the lot if I was helped I told him what happened.He said please let me get you a supervisor. Sherief came out to tell me I was trying to help you. He seemed very aggressive and argumentative. They sent out another sales person instead of the manager or someone in charge. I went to leave They sent out another gentleman Kenneth the finance director. I told him all of what happened he agreed it was bad and wanted to make it right. He grabbed a sales guy Devin and gave him all my information. Devin was going to call me with what they had and give the numbers. No one called me . When I called back in I was told Devin was not in and I should call back. I asked to speak to the finance director, and got transferred to a guy that just answers finance.
