Unlike most pawn shops, this one carrys a lot of new handguns and long guns. All of the major brands and with competitive pricing. I would have to think that this store may offer the best selection in the Tomball area. These guys sold me a handgun and didn't complete the legally required paperwork for the sell. Then they started calling and harassing me 2 months later telling me I needed to drive back to them (hour and a half) to sign a paper that they were responsible for. They told me that I would be arrested if I didn't go back in lol. Completely inaccurate and harassment. Eventually one of the managers decided they needed to drive to me to get the document signed. They didn't do they're job, then tried to scare me into going back in to fix the mess up. Lol read more

I really liked their selection and service, but was not too impressed with the layout and organization. Of what we could actually see, their prices were incredible, some of the best I've seen. The guys behind the counter were top notch and were eager to greet us, help and answer questions, but the problem was actually getting a chance to get close to the case to look at their selection! There were way to many customers blocking our view that we got frustrated and left. We'll be back during the week when it might be a little less crowded and we can actually get a chance to hold a gun and talk a bit with the staff. I've bought several guns from TPJ and have always gotten a good deal. I can't comment on the pawn side of things, but the gun department has a wide selection and if they don't have it they will order it, and you still get a good price. Some of the other local stores don't seem to want to hassle with ordering guns they don't have in stock. I've never had any problems with the staff or ever heard any inappropriate comments. I understand how that can put you off, but don't let one bad apple spoil the barrel. read more

Should be called Tomball Gun and pawn because it's essentially a gun store. An overpriced gun store although you can negotiate a bit. But a good selection of guns and gun accessories & ammo so you pay for that convenience. They have new guns but they're marked at full retail, although I'm sure they'll negotiate. I have bought from this store but only because I was in a pinch. They're a popular store and I believe they capitalize on that with their pricing. They do have a good selection of various items. Who knew this little pawn shop in out-of-the way Tomball was one of the best places in Houston to buy new guns at a deep discount? I live on the west side of Houston but my boss lives in Tomball and he is always raving about Tomball Pawn for new handgun purchases. Their opening hours make it a bit awkward to visit, but it may very well be worth it. Their prices are $50-100 less than anywhere else on handguns, even compared to gun shows. I recently bought a new S&W .38 Airweight for around $425 -- a full $100 less than anywhere else. Give them a call to price a handgun and see if it's worth the drive. read more

Well lets see, I decided to obtain my chl this year and finally decided on a hand gun to purchase. After several recommendations I came here. Spoke with a guy about the gun which they didn't have but could order and have it by the end of the week. Great, I leave all my info and the guy "placed the order". I call back at the end of the week to see if I can come pick it up. The person on the phone informs me they have no gun on order for me. SO i place the order again......and I'm quoted another week. This time I go up to the store to pick it up and what do you know, they've got nothing for me. This time in the store I'm dealing with another gentlemen on the gun side. He seems to be in a pretty crappy mood. Whatever. He writes down my info on a small white piece of paper and just steps away to another customer. Really rude, and as I head out I notice this guy side eyes me really hard. So another week passes and really I'm not expecting anything different and they did nt let me down. Nothing. So I concluded, for whatever reason, these people would not order this hand gun for me. BTW I have a crystal clean record and no problem passing an FBI background check. I've since shared this story with everyone who brings up this place. Maybe they work well with "Some" people, but this it literally the worst experience I've ever had at a Pawn Shop or any store here in Tomball. read more

I dealt with two older women. One with grey/black hair and one with grey/blond hair. both of them just kept bitching and whining and complaining about every little detail of the transaction. Very rude when I asked questions about their unorthodox procedures. At one point, the lady with black hair wouldn't take a gold chain of mine because it was stamped "585 Italy". Which for anyone who knows anything about gold would know that's 14k. Just goes to show she clearly didn't know much about the business. They both took forever with the transaction because they kept messing up the system and having to call a man to come fix it. As for the other men with whom I only had brief interactions with, they seemed to know their shit and have a much better attitude. The store should definitely trim the fat (two older women) from the payroll if they want to keep their good reputation. read more

This place came highly recommended, unfortunately I do not agree. They have a great selection of new/used guns. I have tried to order two guns from them, which they gave me a two week time frame on. Here we are three months later and nothing. They are "all talk", I was ready and willing to spend money and expand my firearm collection, yet they are not competent enough to fill the order. They will not provide any feedback or status on the order because they don't take the orders seriously. When I call to inquire, they have recommended for me to try and buy my guns somewhere else. What is this place?? My recommendation is to wait for the gun show to come to town, don't waste your time at Tomball Pawn. They do not practice good business! read more

I've had nothing but great customer service from the folks at Tomball Pawn. I was in the market for a conceal carry pistol and wasn't sure which would be best for my situation. One of the employees talked with me for a while and gave their opinion on which they thought would work best for me and helped me decide to get the the Shield 9mm with crimson trace. I was fortunate to hear about these folks just shooting the breeze with someone at Wal-Mart. So far I have purchased a rifle for me and a pistol for my wife from them. Excellent prices and relaxed but always helpful staff. Even when I am just browsing and not ready to purchase they are very professional and answer any questions I have. When I bought the pistol I called from a gun show in the GRB convention center. I wasn't thrilled with the prices or "Attitudes" at the gun show so I called Tomball Pawn to do a price check/stock check. The price was great and they had it in stock. I said I was on my way there and the guy asked my name and said ok it's set aside for you just ask for me. I plan on buying all my firearms from these folks in the future. read more

This pawn shop is a JOKE. I am a pawn broker from Chicago and I went to this pawn shop with two very fine jewelry items just to see how they would evaluate my items. Well these people are nothing but a pawn shop fill of con people. I knew what the my items was worth but they tried to tell a line full of BS. This is the worst pawn shop I have visit since I been in the good state of Texas. Before you go to this shop know what your item is worth and you will take a hit on the price, but these people try to cheat you and treat you like a fool. read more

I have been to this establishment multiple times and have never had a problem with the gentleman behind the counter, as you will read in other posts a large part of their business is gun related. I will support those posts as well as far as stating that their prices are very competitive. But last time I checked, their business name included "pawn & jewelry" in it and not just "Tomball Guns & Ammo"..... The reason I say this is that I recently went in with some non gun related items and was spoken to by a woman by the name of Linda... She was extremely rude and ignorant, she scoffed at the items I had making comments to the effect that they were worthless. I promptly left the store and went elsewhere to an establishment was educated and could see the value in what I had. Due to this incident I will no longer be returning to this establishment and I feel that others should know what type of service they are to expect.... read more
