She showed me the new Arch range with a built up orthotic arch which I had read about via an email from Skechers. I tried a few pairs of sandals on and found a pair that was exactly what I was looking for (not too soft, with a cup heel and adjustable and a good arch plus comfy and great ankle support) and even better, they were on sale :) Yay! Amber checked in with me while I was trying on sandals making sure I had the right size, etc without being pushy about a sale. When I was ready she was waiting at the till and did a fast check out for me which was appreciated. She had been helping other customers during this time too and everyone was looking happy and satisfied with her customer service. So, 10/10 for Amber! I bought a really expensive pair of orthotic sneakers at Island Feet a few weeks ago and I hate them as they are uncomfortable and rub everywhere and give me back pain. I think I will return to Skechers for a pair of their Arch range sneakers to wear instead as I have always worn Skechers and somehow they just fit right and don't give me fugly feet too much grief when they are new. The shops at Wailea have a robust program of Hawaiian dance, crafts and music and I guess I will go there future. I remember that you could access the Safeway store at the corner from the mall. But now you have to go out of the mall and into the Safeway. And the Safeway is a large, super Safeway.

Sometimes I feel like a wild woman, so I thought I'd check out this spot. I was on the hunt for a bikini - Maui has fantastic bikini designers, but I wasn't in the mood to spend $160 per piece. Spending over $300 for a bikini just seems wrong, at least in my book. This shop carries a wide variety of bikinis - especially ones for those over 30 who don't want half of their butt cheeks hanging out. There is even a bargain basket where I scored some bottoms for $10. The patient, helpful owner of the shop helped me score a very cute tropical print bikini that was 50% off. All three pieces came to $71. Score! The shop also carries crystal jewelry and other accessories. It's small but well curated. Highly recommend!

The sand was so egregiously, sizzling hot, it melted the soles' glue which kept the Keen's soles and the top half of my shoes together! As a result of only packing my Keen's as my sole hiking/H2O Shoes, I became so desperate and irritated with myself failing packing another pair of water/hiking shoes as a back-up pair; it's time visiting FAMOUS FOOTWEAR for substitute shoes-STAT! In my utter disbelief, I couldn't get over the fact, my Keens shoes just incredibly blew two flat tires while hobbling throughout two Hawaiian Islands! While at Famous Footwear, I found a pair of Puma H2O shoes which were markdown, $14.00 from the regular price and also, I found a pair of Earth Origin, Blue Suede Shoes which I know I'll be hiking wearing these shoes everywhere. Upon returning to NorCal, my Keens are now currently in the Placerville Shoe Repair Hospital.
