Mostly upscale stores. I agree with someone said that the paid parking is ridiculous and it was interesting to note that only some stores validate and you have to make a minimum spending amount. Good thing I was only there for about 5 min and dropped off. I came for a lei making class on Tuesday 11 am - 1 pm. No one was there. I waited 5 min past the starting time. No one seemed to know where it was and some stores said the crafts schedule is "inconsistent". No customer service desk or anyone to help. Parking will be your challenge here so be patient. At $4 for 30 minutes, it pays to buy something and get the validation. At Honolulu Cookie Company, you have to spend $35, at CocoNene, I spent that and got the validation! Many cute shops selling island made goods in addition to the two shops I mentioned. SoHa Keiki is absolutely irresistible as well as Blue Ginko. Lots of clothing shop to choose from in addition to Hula Grill for a beach front meal. Saw this on the map before arriving to the resort and figured this was a place to visit or walk to since it's 7 min walk for me And let tell me you it was way bigger than I thought in fact it's a full fledged outdoor mall! There are two levels in fact Most of the restaurants are on the beach side which makes total sense right? This mall was very conveniently located near our hotel. Prices would vary from more expensive at the Louis Vuitton store to slightly less expensive at the ABC store. There was a wide array of restaurants, shops, and Entertainment you could walk to if you were staying at the nearby hotels. read more

I love coming to Whalers Village this mall is located in Kaanapali. It's such a beautiful drive fun upcountry to the west side! Right now they have road work in front of the mall so be careful of driving. As you enter you'll need to get a ticket to get into this place. Parking stalls are small and always packed. You'll need to share it with the beach goers. To me it's a pain in the rear to find a stall because of this. There so many places to shop at, to eat at. The selection us pretty good! Also the value of certain things you can't find anywhere else. There's something here for everyone. The Service you receive is friendly and kind. There are a few levels of shops. Also they have some pretty good restaurants here! Come here if you're in the Kaanapali area. Many hotels are located close to here so you're able to walk. Which IMO is much easier then finding a stall. Oh abs make sure you get your parking pass validated before leaving here. read more

Came to this shopping center on a Monday afternoon. It was not too crowded and had a good window shopping vibe to it. I liked the beach Hawaiian themed decorations and seats. Lots of shops, pretty much all pricey (for example, there is an LV store), but relaxing to walk around window shopping for a couple hours. Parking is too expensive ($4 for every half hour) unless you spend some money...so I went to Island Vintage Coffee and ordered $25 of stuff I didn't really want (you need to spend $20 there to get parking validated). One play structure that is crawling with kids. My toddler went in and it was very stressful because older kids don't really take care to avoid running over small ones. And she got scared a few leaves up and I couldn't go in to help her down so that was not great. I guess that's on me and maybe I shouldn't have let her try to go up (but there was a smaller baby in there and I thought she'd be okay...). The few restaurants have very long waits so if you plan to eat there, put yourself on the waitlist first before you go shop. For example, Monkeypod had 1.5 hour wait on Wednesday evening, and there was even a line just to add yourself to the waitlist. read more

This is a nice upscale outdoor shopping mall with some high-end tenants and a variety of stores. Although parking in the lot is expensive, buying one item at one of the stores gives you two hours of free parking. Ask before buying if they validate however. I really enjoyed about an hour of my time just window shopping, and ended up buying at Crazy Shirts, which has been around since at least I got married, around 35 plus years. The cool kids hang out here, and many are swimwear attired, which is unusual in Los Angeles .I'm sure the mall was designed for those staying in local hotels which seem like skyscrapers in the horizon. read more

I shopped at Whalers Village twice on my last trip to Maui. They have an abundance of excellent jewelry and clothing stores. The prices are reasonable and the selection is outstanding. The ambiance is very "Maui " with lots of grass and trees and benches. There are several good restaurants as well. read more

Very beautiful shopping area just off the beach and surrounded by many hotels. There is a decent spread of shops to choose from including the only ABC store in the area. Other shops include Sephora, Gucci, ITSUGAR, etc. Things in the mall are very pricey (see Gucci for example), but I guess that's par for the course in this section of Maui. We're not totally sure if the restaurants count as a part of Whalers Village but the proximity to them either way is a plus but beware they do get very packed and finding a table as a walk in will typically take some time. read more

Open-aired mall, common in Hawaii, and so much fun. Great selection of restaurants and shops to pass the time. Opens up to a view of the beach and sunset on the west end. There were also a good selection of kiosks. Hilo Hattie, LV, surf wear, hats, trinkets, shave ice, coffee, t shirts, collectibles, makeup, jewelry, and all kinds of stuff. There's also a parking garage next door with super aggressive drivers fighting for spaces. Best restaurants are Hula Grill, Monley Pod, and Lahaina. And they have a chill little courtyard with an interesting okay structure and even okay a movie at night. Awesome place to hang out if you're staying in the area. You can find inexpensive and expensive values. Pretty good service wherever we went, like Ono Gelato. read more

Walked to Whalers Village a few times during our latest trip to Maui. It is located in a great location right by the beach in Lahaina. This outdoor retail shopping center is on the smaller side, but it does have a nice selection of shops. Had fun exploring the place and browsing. We ended up making a purchase at only one of the stores because most of the shops were too pricey or high end for us. The dining options were alright overall. Dropped by this morning for a lookee loo. It's $4 every 20 minutes parking unless you get it validated. We didn't eat or drink or shopped. We paid total $8 parking. I found out the Whale museum is gone. About seven years ago. It's been replaced with the Hawaii wildlife discovery center. You pay what you want as admission fee. We skipped it. I was told some of the whale artifacts are inside. Today being Sunday there was a lot of foot traffic especially at sit down restaurants. read more

This was a perfect place to get some shopping done and for food. We love Monkey Pod my fav. We also went to Leilani's and hula grill all great places to eat. Leilani's has a more casual dining outside or nicer dining inside. I love all the shops there. My favorite store is Mahina I like how they accept a military discount. I also enjoy the Aloha store where you can buy a nice bag or even a hat. If you buy something for the first time you get 20% off your first purchase. They even have high end store like LV. The outdoor shopping center was kind of overrated. Even though most of the mall was open, there were still a lot of stores that were still closed around 9:30am. While the stores were fine and had a little of everything for everyone, the parking was a bit ridiculous. $4 every 30 minutes and your parking validation is only good for two hours the minute you park. If you want to use the beach... go straight to the ABC store, get your validation, and run for the beach so you can use the time efficiently! read more

The Good: *Ka'anapali Beach is spectacular and a great spot for sunsets. *Both restaurants we ate at here, Leilani's and Monkeypod, were both fabulous. *They do some free community events like Hula lessons, movie nights, basket weaving, and more. Check their website for upcoming events. *Lots of high-quality eateries and shops The Meh: *They charge for parking ($4/ 1/2hr), but most restaurants validate for up-to 2hrs. The Ugly: *Parking lot can be a shit-show during busier times, especially if you have a large SUV. TLDR: Lots of great shops, but be prepared to gird your loins when it comes to parking. read more

Parking attendant was absolutely rude. The group of girls in front of us lost there ticket and then took 10 minutes to resolve the issue. This caused us to be over the 2 hour validation by 4 minutes. When asked if he could fix it, he responded can't you afford $4. The amount is not an issue the arrogance and disrespect was definitely an issue especially when the let the girls in the car in front out of the car after paying to flirt with him. This review is for the temp tattoo kiosk on the beach side of the mall. Anastasia was phenomenal! Wow. She freehand drew flowers and a turtle on my ankle and same with a forearm band for my 13 year-old son. My youngest got a dragon, which was also fantastic (unfortunately we did not get the name of the other girl there). I saw Anastasia drawing other temp tattoos freehand as well and was just floored by her artistry. We love coming here and spending some time and money lol. Pros- great shops from high end "crap" Rolex Louis Vuitton sorry not sorry you don't need that JUNK yes junk on the island. The majority of people who I observed shopping there are rude and disrespectful from the adults to the kids/teens. I could easy drop a few grand on the crap but I rather spend my money on locally made items. I would love to see more locally made products around the island a lot of the little shops you go into have wood carvings but sadly shipped in made I. China with that said make sure when buying wood carvings that you see the artist !! They are around so don't settle. Stay humble people it seems a lot of tourists forget their manners ! We really liked this outdoor plaza and came a few times. This outdoor mall has nice shops, one of them being an ABC Store that my friend, daughter, and I just love! There's also a food court with a nice selection of eateries. For fine dining, Leilani's On The Beach is the restaurant I would recommend. We dined there and loved the food, ambiance, and service. This is a beautiful setting that is within walking distance to the beach. It's a nice place for people of all ages. On the 2nd floor is a Wildlife Discovery Center that is a cool place to check out. read more

The businesses in this mall fail at a rapid rate. Parking is a complete rip off (as is most of Maui) and the people who work for the mall ( parking concession etc) are extremely rude . Other than a few original tenants most of the stores carry overpriced junk. The restaurants have ok food but the prices are actually comical. I wish I could say there are better places to visit in Maui but the whole island has become an insult and a bit of a bad joke read more
