Normally, I'm not a fan of going to Ross Dress for Less stores. In my experiences, everytime I've visited any of their stores, they've always been cluttered, disorganized, and super crowded. I hate crowds at stores. Guess I've been going to the wrong Ross Dress for Less stores. The experience at this location in Lahaina, Maui was a nice one. There were no crowds to navigate through. Their merchandise was very organized. There was no long lines for the registers. Prices were affordable as tends to be the case in all Ross Dress for Less branches. Store was very clean. Wifey found what she needed in good time because they were so organized. Only thing keeping this experience from being 5 stars is that the customer service was just A-okay. Definitely stop by this Ross in Lahaina if you are in need of something. read more

Youngest kid was wanting some toys while we were in town for vacation. We just finished shopping at Foodland and saw Ross across the parking lot. Swung by and went straight to the toy aisle to grab some affordable toys and stop the kids from whining. A win for the adults! read more

My husband grabbed a pair of shoes that he wanted to purchase. He asked one of the associates in the fitting room area. What the price was and she said just grab any pair of shoes and go to the front and they will just use that price for the shoes. That was not the case. They denied him and told him that they didn't know the price for the shoes. After I was done with my nail appointment, I came back over to Ross with him we bought the associate and let her know that they're not honoring the price that of shoe that he grabbed. One of the other associates told to the managers that he could have possibly tore the tag off those shoes that's why they're not honoring it. I couldn't believe that she actually would be accusing him of doing such a thing. The end result was us walking away, not purchasing anything and the management has zero Customer Service skills because obviously we are returning customers and we were being accused of taking tags off the products when that was not the case. I'm very disappointed in the Ross companies I will be going contacting further to corporate with this situation. read more

The good: Don't snooze on Ross when vacationing! Come here if you're looking for cute and affordable Hawaiian-souvenirs! I saw turtle plushies with the word Hawaii on it, lots of Hawaiian shirts, dresses and tanks, Hawaiian totes and insulated lunch bags, Hawaiian-themed water bottles, and much more. I came to get some sandals for my baby and was able to find several cute pairs. There's plenty of parking here. The store was well organized and easy to navigate. Everything was generally tidy. 6/28/2021: What a chaotic fiasco losing my bathing suit plus, other clothing items via a TSA Luggage Inspection which is NOT cool TSA pilfering, stealing my belongings; I had to buy bras, a swimming suit, another beach cover-up, and purchase a dressy outfit because I packed so very little clothing! The majority of what I packed were my dive gear, i.e., pro dolphin fins, snorkel, mask, 5-mm wet suit, dive hood, dive gloves, dive boots, personal documents, my coffee press, coffee grinder, my coffee Espro, and food. Acknowledging, the Kailua-Kona Ross didn't have the rest of the clothing I lost; as a result, I decided purchasing the remaining items I lost at the Lahaina Ross Store: Both Ross Stores have a plethora of clothing and boast affordable, clothing prices but, Ross can't possible retain designer clothing within their inventory which are exactly the expensive clothing I lost! Regardless, I'm grateful I can immediately purchase clothing from Ross; at least, Ross sells affordable clothing despite, the inability selling Uber-upscale, designer clothing. read more

I stopped in Thursday morning to find a quick pair of sneakers. I went hiking a few days before and my sneakers were filthy. After trying to clean them I realized I probably made them worse. They got trashed! My family planned on doing another hike or two so I needed a pair of sneakers and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for them. I opted to come to Ross since it was right down the road from where we are staying. Upon arrival I was greeted by two very friendly employees. The shoe section was right there as soon as I walked in. Everything was clearly labeled and organized so I was able to find my size section quickly. There were a couple options in my size and I finally picked the ones I wanted. The lady who checked me out was very nice and quick. Overall, I got exactly what I needed in a timely fashion. The shoes were reasonably priced. Before checking out I even felt like shopping some more but I really don't need more clothes! read more

It's like any other Ross you go to. On this particular day it was fully stocked. I guess that they're ready for Christmas. Which is a good thing. They had a lot of clothes in stock. The aisles were a little crazy as there were a lot of people shopping. The staff were doing there best to tidy up after people. Friendly cashiers and the line moved pretty quickly. Stopped by here the other month during these COVID days. Nothing too different compared to other Ross locations on the island. There were a lot of empty shelves (I assume from all the weird shipping issues and delays due to COVID), but there were TONS of clothes at amazing prices. I seriously don't need anymore clothes, but at the prices they were selling at, I couldn't resist. I scored an awesome Tommy Hilfiger blazer that's really nice and at just $8, it was hard to pass up. I also scored a Karl Lagerfeld coat for under $20. Where am I going to wear a coat on Maui? Not sure, but it was a good deal. Lol. All in all, everything I got was a steal for business casual wear for the workplace. I was also able to snag a few things for my son. I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area, but I wouldn't exactly drive out of my way for it as there's other locations on island with similar selections. It seems that they've been getting shipments sporadically, so one week could be very different from the next. It's a luck of the draw, but lots of deals if you're willing to take the time to look and sift through everything. read more

Yes gangies, Ross has opened up a beautiful store (about 2 weeks ago) in Lahaina Town, at the Lahaina Gateway strip mall. I just happen to be working in the area, and since Ross was just across the street from where I was working......... I decided to pop on in to look for a pair of work kicks. Like with anything about shopping at a Ross Dress For Less, it's basically a hit or miss...........just gotta be there at the right place, at the right time to catch that special treasure. In Bruddah Fran's case, he stuck GOLD today! Finding a cheap pair of work kicks is just what I was looking for! I was so happy for the people on the west side to have a store like this. There was a need for a place where you could buy affordable bedding, pots & pans, decor, etc without having to go into town. Unfortunately though, this Ross seems to more clothing focused as compared to the others on island. The space also seemed way larger when it was Office Max, not sure if its because the way space was utilized? I've only been in here twice now, but both times it seemed a bit empty. They don't have a very large shoe area, which I thought was odd as there isn't too many places to find a little dressier type of footwear in the area. There was one odd mirror that I passed by that just was not flattering. It was like a fun house mirror that made you look wider. Once again, with the tight aisles! I guess it's just a Ross thing as I've witnessed the same thing on the mainland. At least they have down sized the size of their carts & don't really have the wide ones anymore. I have never been to a Ross store that was so purely mis-managed. The store was a mess! No one seems to care that the alarms from the high end purses were going off. I don't know how the employees can stand it! I was there in the morning and returned and the alarm was still blaring when I went back in the afternoon. The hangers and clothes are on the floor in every isle which is liability if someone trips and falls I think you are waiting for a lawsuit! read more

Dirtiest store! This store has been like this since it opened. Shocked management lets their store get this unkempt. It looks like a second hand store, things tossed around not in their proper location, clothes laying on the floor in isles, the check out line is a disaster with things pawed through by people then tossed back in like a dump pile. This would never be allowed on the mainland management. It surprises me that the locals bitch and moan about their Kuleana of the land and how precious it is and it should be respected. Their the first to disrespect the land, tossing trash on it, abandoning cars, furniture, appliances etc to rot in the side of the road and their homes as well that look like a junk yard and trash dump. So don't give me this bs about our land here, respect it keep it clean, not trash it and stores as well. read more

The selection is actually pretty decent...not great though. If you need last minute items to travel back to the mainland this establishment is as good as any. Now when I say items I mean an extra suitcase...snacks...toys for the kids...and even a few souvenirs. You need to keep in mind that this location is very new so that easily can explain the lack of selection. I think if it stays around long enough things will only get better. Pleasantly surprised that I didn't have any problems returning an item of clothing instore. The changing rooms have been closed since Covid hit (bit silly as other stores have changing rooms open and everyone is trying garments over their clothing in the aisle regardless) so it is hard to make sure your purchase is 100% right. Previously when I have returned an item to the RDFL in Kahului they have been a bit snotty and said you are only allowed 3 returns per year. Not this time, I don't know if it is due to it being the Lahaina store or because they have relaxed their policy but I didn't receive a lecture or any problems, just a smile and great customer service and the return done without a fuss. I was staying away from RDFL because of their unwelcome return policy and attitude but I'm happier to shop with them now knowing returns are easier. I don't do many returns but when I do I want to know that I will receive good customer service. Lahaina did exactly that. read more

I was in need of children's toys for my infant and had been to 4 stores with no luck. A local recommended I check with this Ross store nearby. Not only did they have the best selection of children's toys than entire kids toy stores, but the prices were 50% off what they would have been on Amazon! On top of that, the staff was incredibly nice and the store was CLEAN!! Will be back on our next trip :) read more

We thought this was a great dress for less location. Was looking for a belt since I forgot one. No souvenir shops carry any. So this fit the bill. Great little shopping area. But be warned only public restrooms are port-a-johns near the vitamin store that are held in disrepute. read more

I'm so happy to have a Ross Close by. The prices here are great, and it's fun to see all the new things. One thing that is really hard for me though to shop at Ross because when we have kids with us the store is too hot and makes the kids cry and not be able to shop. So it's very limiting to shop at Ross and I probably don't shop there as much as I would if it wasn't as hot inside. I am sad we have this issue because I'd love to shop there all the time. read more

I was so excited to see a store open on this side of town. Talk about a difference of the store than the Kahului Location. I have always loved Ross stores. I currently live in California and will shop in any of Ross's location EXCEPT For this one. Talk about RUDE AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I feel sorry for the employees that have such bad leadership. It was such a disappointment to learn that the one person that gave me such a bad experience was a supervisor and she was training a new employee simultaneously while doing my return. I am not one to expect exceptional service but I do believe as a loyal patron should be given common courtesy. This employee got really annoyed with me and displayed it with her tone of voice and comments because I misunderstood her for a credit back to my card instead of a credit to purchase(even though I did qualify for a credit back to my card) I even apologized for misunderstanding. As I look back, the transaction was not even completed when I asked for a credit back to my card. Correct me if I'm wrong am I able to change my mind on the the type of tender being returned to me? I still love Ross but FORGET about this location!!! read more

After a night of Xmas shopping we bought a wagon load of toys...after checking out we realized the wagons they use cannot be brought out to your car. I had 7 large bags so I asked Randal if I could have help carrying them to my car, to which he replied it is not allowed, company policy...no customer service? Really? At first I was thrilled to see we had one on this side of the island. I also have one down the street from my other home on the mainland in Palm Springs Ca. I was shocked to see this one here in Lahaina after just under two months of being open looking like a junk store. The manager should be ashamed of their store. Clothes all over the floor, broker hangers sticking upwards and out, things knocked over on shelves and in wrong locations and some clothes, items and things in piles. I was extremely disappointed and so looking forward to shopping in there but it was so disorganized I stayed 10 minutes bought socks and left. If corporate reads theses reviews, I would make a surprise visit. As a previous store owner myself and a designer I was not pleased with my shopping experience. When I mentioned it to the checker, she shrugged it off with no apology and just replied well at least we were here and you didn't have to drive to the other side, have a nice day.
