They got a new set of people in the service dept and wow what a difference! The new crew was friendly and super helpful!

I've purchased 2 boats from Boulder Boats which is now "Tommy's Boats" - and can say that the change has been the absolute WORST EVER. When you're a Buyer, they treat you great, like royalty, but when you're a Seller and you place your boat on consignment with them, then they sell it and tell you that you'll have a payment sent to you in 30 days but never send the payment, nor will pick up the phone to speak to you and when you finally get an attorney involved they say they'll send the check, but do they??? NO they don't, just more excuses. In my opinion Tommy's Boats are THIEVES and haven't a single ounce of integrity. It's no been over 65 days and Still NO Payment - this isn't how you treat a customer who spent over $250,000 on the past 10 years with you. read more

We bought a boat from them and on the day we went there to pick it up, it wasn't ready or detailed which we requested. After boating season, we prepaid for them to pick it up and store it. We were told to meet them at a launch in early November. It was freezing but we drove our boat to the launch and on our way they, they called and said they couldn't meet us. $500 battery I didn't realize that the 2nd battery in the boat was in place to run the lights and radio and when they were not working, I called for service. They were prompt enough to come out within a week of my call, but then told me the reason the things were not working was a dead 2nd battery. All told, with the only ta single battery being replaced and I am pretty sure well within an hour of service, I was billed $500.44. For what I am certainly hoping is a brand new marine battery and a service call. FYI fellow boaters, a fool and his money will be separated and Tommy's is there to assure this outcome. A good friend of mine in the military has paid for a service for his wife in the states and they have not completed. over 6 weeks now they are still trying to get boat delivered. Worst customer service. Purchased a new wakesetter and none of the options installed, sales guy is nonresponsive. Dead batteries at put-in with no backup. Blow off response when asked when all options would be installed. You'd think when spending 100k on a boat you would have some decent customer service. Tommy's = never again... disaster experience. Unfortunately my review is the same as these others. I am totally disgusted in Skiers Pier and the new "Tommy's". New name, same terrible service. Well actually I would say the service is worse. Do yourself a favor and NEVER deal with these people. I had nothing but problems with them with my old boat then got talked into buying a brand new boat from them. Well guess what, nothing but problems! I have been calling for 3-4 weeks to get my boat out of storage and delivered to my boat slip which was already paid for. Was harassed in the parking lot multiple times asking for a cash deposit. After I refused I was told to take the boat home for the week to demo/show my wife. 3 days later the cops show up at the house saying I stole the boat. They took the boat. Turned out the boat had already been sold to another person. The dealer/salesman was lending out/sell a boat that was not even there's. Now the dealer/salesman is trying to hide/cover this up. I will not be the dealers/salesman's fall guy for this. Wow !! What a sketchy place. Nothing but lies lies and more lies from this place, stay far away. read more

Not trust worthy! Stored our boat over winter! Key was lost, so we dropped another off. Preseason boat start was done on day boat was supposed to be delivered. Phone call saying boat not running right and lower unit needs to be replaced for $3500. Decided not to fix it and just have it delivered to have our regular boat repair person look at it. Charged $470 for boat start, delivery ( at least double of what it used to be). Our repair guy came out and did whole diagnostics and found nothing wrong except the lower unit needing an oil change. Would never go here. Miss Skiier's Pier! We always trusted them! Storage was also very expensive!! read more

The ABSOLUTE worst experience I have ever had with a company. My boat has been a nightmare from the day it was put in the water. Electrical problems, dents, scratches, motor mounted incorrectly, depth finder broken, and stored over the winter without being shrink wrapped. They will NEVER honor any warranty work. They also make appointments and never show up. Even under new management they are completely incapable. We have filed complaints with Avalon/Tahoe, The Better Business Bureau as well as WDIV. New name, Tommy's Detroit, same old usual dismal Skier's Pier service. This service has done the usual customary winterization of my boat previous to even this last season. And then, they forgot to connect a critical hose to the engine almost sinking my boat. Never did i get so much as an apology let alone a real admission of their wrongdoing. I looked around for a better option but no one in the area will even touch a Malibu boat for service. So apparently, when you buy a boat, you are stuck with the service (and the unfortunate mishandling) of the manufacturer in your area. This season, i entrusted the care of my boat to this place and it was returned to me with a critical part (a plug to seal the hull so water does not get it) broken in half and taped to my steering wheel. All without even a short note telling me what had happened and leaving me with a boat i cannot put in the water. When i called the service desk to ask what happened, i pretty much got the usual tepid response with an announced intent to get a replacement plug to me that evening. well, the next day, no plug, and unfortunately, i cannot even get the service desk to return my call. Tsk, tsk, Tommy's Detroit. You are new in the neighborhood, but you are going to fit in just fine with the idiocy we as consumer's have had forced upon us by the manufacturer in years past. read more

**DO NOT DEAL WITH SKIERS PIER OR TOMMY'S (new owners)** We did not want to post this until we got our boat BACK because we wanted to really think about it and were concerned about retaliation. We met the sales people at an in-water boat show in 2016. Salesmen,Ron and Jessie, were GREAT. We bought it NEW in 2017. It was a custom @ 6 figure retail unit. At delivery, there were a few minor issues they promised to remedy. Yet-They DID NOT. Dozens of calls. NOTHING. After sending out a shop employee with no knowledge, experience or ability to repair anything, in the fall, management recommended they take it in TO THE SHOP (50 miles and 1 1/2 hours away) for the original delivery repairs we had been waiting for since APRIL. For our "inconvenience" they would make the warranty repairs and we decided they should just keep it for the winter in INSIDE STORAGE by that point. Fast forward April 2018-We had been calling for delivery for a few weeks. It is being "cleaned" "we will call you" Finally, after weeks of calling,we are told the reason they won't deliver it is because we have three open invoices??? WHAT? The billing reps are rude and demanding. Turns out they have duplicated the invoices. No kidding. They charge us, credit us, charge us for random items, INCLUDING the warranty work. But whatever. After arguing- we just pay the @ $1000 something bill we arent sure we really owe (and that's after they deduct other baloney charges because we are objecting vigorously). FINALLY, we get a delivery date for TODAY. "pm" We take off the afternoon from work. But there wasn't any reason to because "PM" it is.. We meet the delivery fella as directed a few miles away from our home--it's close to 8 pm at a public park launch. When TOMMY BOATS arrives, we are SHOCKED. Not only does the delivery trailer have a FLAT TIRE, the boat has clearly NOT been stored inside!!--it most definitely has been sitting in the water- for a long time- and OMG there is little doubt it has been USED, (there was gas when they picked it up- there's no gas now- and unrecognizable personal items not sure are ours on board) but WORST OF ALL, the 'toons' are scratched, full of algae(we store in a LIFT) and nothing is where we stored it. Not the mooring cover, Not the poles, Even the potty area has clearly been disturbed, if not USED. We are so so so disappointed, insulted and violated. We feel like they took advantage of us, lied to us and abused our prized investment. We were bringing several friends TO them after so many compliments last summer, BUT NOT NOW. We recently had our 2004 21' Malibu Wakesetter XTi serviced here and were very pleased with the result. We dropped off the boat on a Sunday evening and covered it. They called promptly on Monday and ordered the replacement part (a tracking fin) with 2 day shipping. Installed the new fin and called us Thursday stating that the boat was ready. We picked it up on Friday and not only was the service completed but the boat was cleaner than when we dropped it off. They had gone through and vacuumed, wiped all the surfaces down, shined the tires of the trailer and put the cover back on. And lastly, the price was very competitive and reasonable. If we need service for this boat in the future we will go back. read more

Very unorganized....it is one thing to sell a boat, but when you need service and you get the run around. It is crazy. Is it possible to give Tommy's a Zero? Old owners pre Feb 2018 of Skiers Pier (Joe Wolf) was never even close to the incredibly-I-can't -even-come-up-with-a-word-they-are-so-bad as Tommy's (the new owner). The excuse that "Well we bought the place in February so we are just figuring things out." is just so lame. I could have run that place with an excel spreadsheet if I had one month. "Oh the boats are stored in different locations and we don't know where they all are." WHAT? GO THERE AND TAKE A PENCIL AND SHEET OF PAPER AND WRITE DOWN THE LOCATIONS AND THEN PUT IN ON A COMPUTER. I mean, have none of these people ever worked in a business? I'd gone there several times in person (30 minutes drive one way) over a 6 week period to find out the status of my boat and there are always literally a bunch of people just standing around with no direction. Person A is standing one foot from Person B and they are not relaying any information to each other. It looks like there are about 1000 sticky notes all over the place and no one is managing anything - there's a guy behind a glass door eating a sandwich on a phone and bankers boxes of what look like files all over the floors. It's rather fascinating to watch the circus. Have used old Skier's Pier for years: bought boats, skis, equipment, from them and they were great! I am laughing actually, because I don't think you could even try to be this bad at running a business. I won't even bother with my specific details but all other reviews are spot on. It must be that the new owners, Tommys, are intentionally being terrible to all used boat owners so they will all leave and then they'll only have to sell new boats $$$. Easily found a new place to store and service boat. Also found a place not associated with Tommys to buy new boats and equipment. I'm so glad they had time to logo all their trucks up, because whenever I see one from now on I will remember how lipstick looks on a pig. As a business you need to be good to people in good times for them to keep using you during bad times. That was the glory of old owner at Skier's Pier, he treated you well during good times, so we stayed with him/them during bad times/downturn even though they were a little more expensive than other places. read more

I had my pontoon boat stored by Skiers Pier last winter. They picked it up and everything seemed ok. They are not the cheapest storage and winterizer in the area, but I wanted a place that I could find and talk to real people in person. I started calling them about 2 weeks before Memorial Day to get my boat delivered. I left several messages and waited to get a call back. I never got one. A week before Memorial Day I went to talk to someone directly. I spoke with an employee and asked when I could get my boat delivered. He said how about Friday(The Friday before Memorial Day) at about 1pm. I said that would be great and went home thinking everything was working out since I was having people over for Memorial Day weekend and was planning on taking them out on the boat if the weather was nice. The Friday before Memorial Day 1pm came and no call and no boat. I had taken the day off because I knew the times were not exact there was always something that could come up to change things. At about 3pm I called skiers Pier and explained that I was expecting them to deliver my boat at 1pm. They said they were sorry and were backed up. But said they would get it out that day. When I called Saturday asking what was going on they asked me to give them a description of the boat, which I did. Then they said they would deliver it "today" (the Saturday before Memorial Day). Sunday I called and explained everything and someone there said they would try to get it out to me since I was so close only a few miles from their location, but he had a skeleton crew working on last minute things for people. I spoke to him again about 7 or 8pm and he said he wouldn't be able to deliver it until Tuesday. I called Tuesday 5/31/2016 and asked about it being delivered and they asked for a description again and said they would call me back. Got no call. I called 6/4/2016 at 3:20pm and spoke with someone who also asked for a description and promised a call back. I drove to their location and spoke to someone who told me that my boat hadn't been tagged so they couldn't find it, but now they knew there was only one pontoon left so they would deliver it that afternoon. I called then about 7pm that day and they asked if I still wanted it. I said yes and they delivered it about 30 minutes later. When they delivered the boat on 6/10/2016 it was missing the Bimini top and when I asked where it was, the driver said they broke the frame and they were going to see if they could fix it or order a replacement. I called on 6/17 asking where the top was and they said they were working on it and to call them back. I called 6/23 and asked where it was and they said they were working on it that Saturday and to call them Monday 6/20/2016 and they would know if they had to order parts. I called them yesterday 6/28/2016 and they said they would be out that day and install it. They wouldn't give me a time since by their own admission they were horrible at delivering anything on any kind of schedule. It's 6/29/2026 and I still have not received a call and my top is not on my boat. When I called the girl who answered said the service guy was out to lunch and would I like him to call me back. ROTFL. I intend to drive up there today and ask again where the top to my boat is. I just noticed that all of the Yelp reviews for Skiers Pier are not recommended except one. The one is a positive review then reviews that were not recommended were mostly negative reviews. I wonder if this review will get recommended or not. My next stop is the better business bureau. I think if those reviews were all recommended I might not have had Skiers Pier store my boat and I would have had it for Memorial Day weekend and I would not still be missing the top. And having to take time off work to deal with this snafu. Once again playing the waiting game for their service department. I have a written and signed promise for them to fix the top Wednesday. Do not go here. Your pontoon will probably be left outside all winter if you're not friends with the owners. All they care about is getting money in there pocket. They will over book storage since they get at least $500 per boat. They still owe me $15,000 in pay and I haven't been with them for 2 months now. Your mc #s won't be on your boat until 6 months after you purchase it. Your boat you trade in will still be in your name until they HAVE to do something about it. If I could give them a zero I would. We had 1 prop re-machined 2 separate times through them. Both times they told use a week to a week and a half. 3 weeks later and several calls w/o information they were finally back in. Then we ordered 2 drysuits from them. We were told a week and they would be in. Paid upfront for them. Called a week later several times and was always transferred to a number that no one ever answers. Called and asked for a specific person after the endless ringing and was told they were out of the office. Why are you sending me to a phone that no one answers when you know they are out of the office. I mean really??? Finally get someone and they couldn't order the suits because they don't ship to the USA. So they ordered 2 other ones. Waited a week with no call and had the same phone call issues, no one answering the phone we were transferred to. Finally reached someone and they were in. Drive there which mind you is 1/2 hour each way. Just to find out they ordered wet suits. We made it clear in the beginning we were ordering DRYSUITS. Will never go back there for anything again. I hope you this saves you the hassle of dealing with them to. I am more of a positive reviewer because I don't feel there are enough out there, but this time I could not hold my tongue. read more

NEW NAME, SAME TERRIBLE SERVICE. I called last Tuesday to arrange pickup of my boat out of storage. After being put on hold forever, I finally called back and left a message. After no return phone call, I called on Thursday and I was told it would be ready Saturday or Monday for sure. When I called on Saturday, they confirmed it would be ready for Monday and thus I took the day off of work. However, I then learned they no longer rented trailers and would have to pay $100.00 to have it delivered. When I called Monday to arrange the delivery time, they mentioned they new nothing of my boat being ready for today and was not on the schedule. They assured a quick return phone call. After not hearing back, I called again and was notified again they new nothing and was assured another phone call back. Today is now Wednesday and I called and asked for the manager who was not available and still....no return phone call. read more

The worst sales/purchasing experience I have ever been through. Mis-lead and lied to by a number of their sales staff including ownership. Communication was horrible and after sales support is completely non-existent. I would not recommend anyone purchase or deal with Skiers Pier. read more

I give Skiers Pier 0 stars. In Fall, 2015 they told me that they winterized my boat while they had it for another repair. In June, 2016 I discovered that they did not winterize it and the engine was ruined. I spoke with Joe, the owner, and he said that he is a "straight shooter" and would fix it. I took it in immediately. They had the boat all summer of 2016. I called every 2-3 weeks and was given no information of progress. I was told that I would receive a call back each time and I never received the call back. I spoke with Brian almost every time. In Sept, of 2016 I spoke with Joe (owner). He said that he would fix it the winter of 2016/17. They did not work on it at all and did not protect it from the winter elements. I called many times Spring, 2017 and did not receive a return call. I spoke to Sara (owner's wife) May, 2017. She assured me that she or someone else would call me back. Nobody called me back. I filed at small claims$ court. They did not show up at the first court date. They did show up after they received notice that I had won the judgement. They then appealed and we went through the process. In August, 2017 I was awarded $5,000 plus court costs. They had 21 days to pay. After waiting more than 30 days I subpoenaed all of their business financial and property records. They finally paid.
