We have been going to this location for several years. There is a big sign that says if you're dissatisfied that says "beautiful. But if for any reason you're not completely satisfied, please let us know." Well, after going through our car was not clean and so we went around to ask to go through again and a very stern unfriendly manager said that the satisfaction guarantee was only for subscription members. we mentioned that the sign should clearly say that and it doesn't. She continued to say that every Tommy's is different in their policy. We asked for contact information for the franchisee owner so that we could express our disappointment and she refused to give it to us. Even though we don't have a membership, we spend a lot of money at this location on our cars and are now going to rethink whether we will be returning. read more

This is probably my favorite location of Tommy's Express Car Wash. The people who work here are incredibly kind and patient. They take the time to explain things and are sweet if you have any questions. It's pollen season, so I was very excited to get my car nice and shiny again. I got the #1 Works which comes with tire gloss, ceramic body wax, red hot cleanser, rainbow coat, 3-step wheel cleaning, Tommy guard, and underbody flush. The customer service is terrible at this location. They are extremely rude. You have to pay extra to purchase a rag to dry your vehicle off...other car wash offer complimentary towels. Buying the premium wash didn't matter. The car was still dirty! However, the Short Pump location service is commendable...go there instead! Service provided was mediocre at best, wife's SUV was still dirty on the back. Vacuum system and attachments are lame. Having to pay three dollars for a rag with a couple of wipes for cleaners as a rip off considering the size of the rag is not much bigger than something to clean your sunglasses with. Been to other car washes like carpool that have better service. Sam's express is actually one of the better ones as far as customer service and clean results on the vehicle. Won't be going back to Tommy's car wash in the future! read more

I came in today for my first car wash at Tommy's Express on Arthur Ashe Blvd. I had a small issue on MY end and was helped by an associate named Rose. She was kind pleasant and extremely helpful. One of the two mat washers is broken and the other has been removed. Half of the vacuum stalls are frequently closed so that there's a line to use the vacuums. Some of the vacuums are broken and have not been fixed . One of the express lanes for cars with membership was recently closed because the arm fell off . This place is poorly run and maintained. I'm considering canceling my membership. read more

I have been a Car Pool customer forever. I will continue to be a Car Pool customer; however, Tommy's will also get my business, especially when I need a wash fast and don't mind doing my own vacuuming and interiors. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy and quick the process is. The window attendant was helpful and courteous, and I was in and out in a breeze. Tommy's is located close to home, and the price is right. So it will definitely be a regular spot so I can keep the whip spanked! read more

Loading my car is an issue when no staff is there for guidance. It really concerned me when no one was there to assist with entering the car wash (which was the majority of the time). I recently cancelled my membership because of this. read more

After a 10 hour trip the keep was very dirty so we stopped in for a wash. The staff was very friendly and didn't try to sell us the monthly package which I appreciated. We bought a #2 and the car wash itself looked neat. It did get the dirt off but didn't dry as well as as we thought it should. All in all would still go back. read more

Was excited to give this car wash a try as it is literally down the street from my house. But just sat in line for almost 20 to 25 minutes waiting to try and pay for a car wash with a single truck in front of me. I watched as at least 10 other cars went through the auto lane. Finally asked the car behind me to back up, so that I could back up and leave because I got fed up with waiting! Can't even begin to imagine what one car could possibly be doing to take that long but I don't have that kind of time to waste! read more

i don't normally have issues here but did today. i drive tesla so to shift gears you have to pressed the break-- they said i was driving inside the loading dock and that i had driven so far up that the front of my car wouldn't get washed-- i've been a subscriber for over a year and wash my car multiple times a week i know how to load my car. the issue was no one was out there and because my car was rolling on a belt that obviously was moving they tried to place the blame on me ... ultimately the end result is the staff lied to their supervisor and he called me saying i threatened his staff (lies)-- but i'm use to this being a black woman who stands up for herself. long story short, don't go here choose another location. i ultimately decided to cancel my subscription because there's car washes everywhere these days. enjoy your day. read more

Terrible car wash overall. Aside from the fact the car wasn't that clean, the wash also caused a scratch on my new vehicle (less than 1000 miles). They confirmed the scratch was not there before entering but tried to blame on me drying my car with a microfiber towel. Finally I had to ask for a refund after they denied the claim despite their 100% satisfaction guarantee. Sounds like I'm not the only one with this experience which prompted the review. Came through Tommy's Express car wash today just for a normal wash. I'm not a member, so I went through the line where you receive help and I was lucky enough to be helped by Tre! I was given the best customer service I've had in a very long time. He was excited for his sales pitch, was excited to help me and was even more excited to continue giving my dog treats! People like this in customer service are the reason why us consumers want to continue coming back and for him I will continue coming back to this car wash time, and time again! WORST CAR WASH EVER!!!! My spouse and I both had a membership. This week, the car washed ripped off my spouse's back wiper (we didn't realize it at the time). The next day, the car wash ripped off both of my front wipers and cracked my windshield as it did it. We both filed a claim with the manager. They review the video and confirm that the car wash ripped off both my front wipers. They admitted that my wipers were OFF when I entered the car wash and that the car wash grabbed my wipers. But they said that because the wipers moved after the car wash grabbed them, they weren't responsible for my wipers or the broken windshield. (My wipers were turned off, but my vehicle has an automatic function that if they are moved by wind, or from being picked up, they will try move themselves back to the down position.) I have gone through literally hundreds of car washes, and I have NEVER had this happen before. Next they also confirm that the car wash grabbed the rear control arm on my spouse's vehicle and ripped it off completely. They agree to replace it. I drive to two different locations across Richmond to find the parts and give them the receipts. They only reimbursed for the exact amount of the parts, AND REFUSED TO PAY THE TAX FOR THE PARTS!!!! So unless you want to be out money to replace your windshield and multiple wipers, FIND A DIFFERENT CAR WASH!!!!! read more
