I parked my car on pine straw last night and cam out this morning to a flat tire. I called Honda Roadside Assistance and they dispatched Tommy's Towing. They arrived and needed to get the vehicle onto the truck and the driver was going to drive the vehicle off the pine straw onto the road and onto the truck bed. I said that that would ruin the tire and he told me it would not. The vehicle was taken to the dealership, the screw was in the thick thread, however, and they had to replace the tire because the sidewall was damaged. Don't believe the towing company who will not tell you the truth. read more

My motorhome lost all air pressure, which meant no air brakes, and could not be moved easily since it was a 12' high, 43' long, 41,000 lb diesel pusher and low to the ground since air bags deflated. I called Triple A for a tow (starter out). The ETA was for 11:39 am. Great. After waiting and waiting and waiting. I made calls to Triple A and Tommy's. I was finally given another ETA of 2:03. Excuse after excuse from Tommy's dispatcher. Incredibly defensive. That's all that would be required would be a heads up text or phone call. No one was being rude but the employees of Tommy's. Once arrived and picked up we reminded where the truck should be dropped. Thirty minutes later (a 4 minute ride) he showed up. I had called to ask where he was. Asked if he stopped for lunch. This Bailey Douglas guy got out of the tow truck screaming and cursing that he doesn't take a lunch, with HIS CHILD IN THE TOW TRUCK! I should ask triple A to send someone else out. ABSOLUTELY. I would not work with this company. This was all done in front of several employees as well as the owner of the garage I brought it to. Then he peeled out of the parking lot. Apparently that showed me! I would rather push the vehicle to the garage then be subject to such disgusting behavior and poor service. Triple A may "be paying for the tow" as I was reminded by the dispatcher, however they are paid on a yearly basis, which comes out of my pocket. I called AAA to have my car towed and a flat tire replaced, and they sent someone from Tommy's Towing out. The gentleman came quickly and took a look at the tire and said there was a nail in it, and he might be able to repair it. He found not one but TWO nails in my tire, patched both holes, inflated it and it was PERFECT! I'm due to get new tires in the next year, but this saved me the $200+ I was going to have to spend to replace one tire today. COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! Thrilled with Tommy's Towing (and with AAA for sending them out!) - will definitely be stopping in when I'm ready to replace all four tires. read more

DO NOT EVER USE TOMMY'S TOWING. **WARNING** Our company has had a terrible experience using Tommy's Towing where they have basically held our driver hostage and would not stop to let him out of the tow truck. They do not care about people, customer service, or doing honest business. Tommy's Towing will hardly answer the phone and only cares about your money. Both phone #'s they gave us to authorize the tow truck to stop continued to ring with a busy signal and then once i authorized the tow truck to stop and let our driver out, the boss/owner refused. This is a holiday week and our driver needs rest and at the least be at home with his family. I wouldn't recommend Tommy's Towing to anyone, if i couldn't find another tow truck company i'd rather pull my vehicle by hand with a rope down the road. read more

They take advantage of people in accidents and try to charge them double. Their drivers are dumb, rude and lazy. We ran off the road in the rain and needed a wench to get us out, and the lazy #$! drive set in his truck and said he could not get us out, he didn't even bother to get out of his truck prior to telling us this. My thoughts, he was to lazy or to dumb to know how to do it. We called another towing company and they had us out in less the 10 min. They were going to charge us over $300 dollars for what the other company charge $150 for. read more

Very dissatisfied with service provided by this company during a roadside assistance call for a dead battery. They arrived much later than anticipated, and the driver was very rude and unprofessional, blaming a previous driver for not being able to find us-although we recieved no phone call. He appeared to be taking his frustrations with his coworker and our warranty company out on us. He was able to jumpstart our car and blamed me for not pressing the brake in hard enough, or the car door being open. He then left, complaining of doing his job and coworkers too. Our battery issue persisted and a competitor towing company was able to provide prompt, professional service and when testing battery addressed the underlying issue which allowed us to get to a dealer and correct the situation-service not provided by this company. read more

He said he'd put my key in the drop box with my info and was angry when I asked if I should follow and put my OWN info. But as a southern tourist I was annoyed and very inconvenienced when a scheduled 2.5 garage hour job took them three full days to complete. And they likely would have kept my vehicle over the weekend if I had not insistently stood by into Friday evening to get my car. Their response was one of cool, detached indifference. read more

My car wouldn't start and had no power. The dealership sent Tommy's Towing to come pick it up but didn't mention that I couldn't get the car into neutral without power. The tow truck driver tried everything he could think of to get some juice to get in neutral but nothing worked. He left and came back with some tire dollies and someone to help and they were able to get my car onto the flatbed. Both men were courteous and polite despite the frustrating situation. They even said they would send someone to power-wash the driveway where the truck had leaked some fluid. Excellent service and would highly recommend them next time you need a tow. read more

Yes I received a jump start for my ford explorer when the guy came out he was unprofessional looking and then he tried to jump it but he said it wasn't working it was my starter well I called another company to tow me home and I started to call around for a starter my buddy cam over he took out his jump starter and he was able to jump it it has worked fine for weeks now you need to get better equipment for older vehicles read more

These guys were AWESOME! Called AAA, we were broken down along I95. They called me as soon as they got the call from AAA and said someone was on their way. They said there was a mechanic that would be available as soon as we were towed in. They called two other times to check in on us and to give an ETA due to stand still traffic. Towed us to the shop and someone fixed the problem right on the spot. They made sure we were ok before we left and made sure we knew how to get back on the highway. The staff was kind and courteous. If I cloud, this would be zero stars "0" I called Tommy's Towing and Tire per AAA after our car broke down in southern South Carolina on our way home from Florida. Initially things started out good, they came to my car and towed the car back to their lot in Bluffton, SC (Saturday, June 24th @ 10:00am ET - I was already at the lot with our rental/that's another long story). Mind you, we were (my wife & I) there in their building on their lot face-to-face with the person tending the front desk and the driver of the tow truck. I proceed to explain the situation, car broke down, transmission has totally failed, I won't be fixing, getting a new transmission as my car has 164,300+ miles. The two attendants were very friendly and cooperative throughout the discussion and wished us good luck and safe travels on trip back to Massachusetts, at no time was I presented any documentation nor was any explanation given to us regarding terms and conditions of leaving our vehicle in their lot. Come Monday morning (June 26th) I started the process of getting a car transport service to get my car back to Massachusetts. I called Tommy's Towing service and spoke directly to Tommy that Monday morning. He did ask if I was going to have the transmission repaired/replaced and I told him it wasn't worth the costs considering the vehicle had 164,300+ miles our car. I continued to explain the situation we were in and that I would know more by mid-week about getting the car picked-up for transport back to Massachusetts. Again, nothing from Tommy (the owner of the business) about terms & conditions while my car was in his lot/property. Finally by Thursday afternoon I had made arrangements through a dealer where I had bought a new car to have my stranded vehicle picked up from Bluffton, SC (Tommy's Towing). The only remaining obstacle was the July 4th holiday hence they couldn't get my vehicle until Wednesday, July 5th. when I called Tommy's Towing about the pick-up arrangements, all of a sudden I'm told that there is a $400.00 storage fee. I asked to speak directly to Tommy about this and was refused. I was told that they wouldn't release the vehicle until the storage fees were paid. I proceeded to ask them why I hadn't been told this while I was there face-to-face with them back on June 24th, nor did Tommy discuss this with me while I was speaking with him the Monday after (June 26th). I did not get an anser and I as I said, Tommy refused to speak with me directly regarding the situation. Tommy's Towing is not a professional business. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone nor should AAA. We were stranded, in a difficult situation and Tommy's Towing showed a total lack of consideration and courtesy towards us. read more

They are very dishonest people. We were stranded and needed a tow. One tire in a ditch and I had triple A, triple A said no problem, as long as I was not more the 50' off the road. We were only 45'. (that was said by the policeman and the towing company) The tow tuck gets to us two hours later, didn't get out of the truck, my son goes to him and he states he can't pull us out, not even getting out of his truck. We let them know triple A said we could get it pulled out and than he said that he would do it for $300 and we would have to pay him right than and there. The policeman working the accident laughed at the man and said if he had a four wheeler he could pull it out. It was raining the tow company thought we would be desperate and pay the money. We are no Fools!!! We called Allen Towing from Hardeeville, SC and he had us out in less then 5 min. The driver was rude and lazy!!!! Most dishonest company I have ever had to deal with. read more

They sent a guy out for our truck and he couldn't even speak english, because he told us he drank to much moonshine and smoked to much pot until he had to stop because he was bleeding through his mouth and back end. Yes, this is the guy they sent out to repair our truck. Carl back at the shop is a complete tool! HE is a liar and he loves to rip you off. They charged us over $1,100.00 to tow our truck because he said his guy hooked up a computer, their tow truck guy couldn't even see straight. My guys told me that he never took anything out but an ohm meter and he didnt know what to do with that. So I called Carl back and said he didnt do anything, carl argued with me on the phone and said this is South Carolina and we do things different in these parts of the states. HE wouldn't let our truck down until our owner got on the phone and wired him the money. We were stuck between a rock and a hard place even though I know he was ripping us off. The tow truck guy took my guys down the back roads instead of the freeway, when they got to their place it was a junk yard with 2-bays, POS place. The we said tow it to cummins, they towed it to freight liner instead of cummins because the tow truck driver didnt know where he was going. This was all in 2-hours, with in 60 miles of 3-places with a charge of over $1,100.00. Don't Ever, ever call this place. Tim, my knight in shining armor changed the tire to the spare, and I followed him to the shop because I decided to buy a new tire then and there. Was out the door in an hour. Broke down Christmas morning 2013. Yes Tommy was great getting us towed to his shop with horse trailer and horses in tow. Took us to the Holiday Inn which was a great place and low price. That was a Wen. he had his drivers pick me up to care for my horses each day. My truck had a fuel line split. Got the truck fixed and we left on Fri. Truck wouldn't go any faster then 35. Made it 40 miles from his shop at a Walmart in Georgia. Turned the truck off and that was that. Had to spend the night in my truck with my mom. Had to find someone to come pick my trailer with horses, my mom and myself to take us the rest of the way to Fl. I was told that Tommy would have someone pick my truck up in the afternoon since we needed to pull my truck out from under the trailer. That didn't happen. I don't even know when they finally picked it up. I didn't get my truck back until 3-20-14 after a tank of fuel and more then 270 miles was put on it. Only to get on my way home and not be able to go faster then 70 mph and found that one of the parts (c3 pump) was leaking fuel everywhere! I called him and called him. I am always told that he is not in the office. Leave a message and he never calls. $4,407.74 worth of work and it is still sitting in my driveway because he can't even seem to supply a Chevy receipt to me so I can have it replaced. Makes you wonder just how honest Tommy really is. Maybe he is to his locals but not so much for travelers? read more
