Front desk lost my appointment as I was waiting and had my appointment wrote down I called back and they couldn't find the appointment we made, the gal at the desk had the Adesa city to ask me if I wanted to reset an appointment? I reset the appointment and Repair guy was late said he already had 10 appointments ahead of mine didn't have any time to look at anything else, catchy he left his tools inside the Washer and found them when he did the repair but then he closed up the machine and also closed up the drain hose for regular maintenance which I couldn't get to unless they took the machine apart, we had to trade the machine in on another machine and paid Out of money to replace it. Never will I use this Repair joint again. Next time I'd rather buy new then have a nightmare on customer service and repair work catchy, and it's not even Friday the 13th! read more

Our large freezer started making a weird noise and then stopped cooling. We first called another company that we were told to go with by friends, they couldn't make it out to us for over 2 weeks. This was not acceptable with the amount of meat that we were looking at loosing. I saw the reviews for Toms, and remembered always seeing the van down by Holiday Market in Cottonwood, so had my husband call. They let us know they would fit us in sometime the next day between appts, and would call when on their way. Perfect. Tom called late the next morning and was here within 10min. My husband explained the issue to him and he got right to work. Within about 5min, he found the problem. He explained to me what happened and how to fix it if it happens again, as well as some other tips and tricks of our freezer that we had no clue about. He got to work, fixed the issue, and was on his way. So thankful for Tom and getting us back up and running so we didnt end up possibly loosing a ton of meat. These guys were super nice and helpful on the phone. Scheduled me the next day and really tried to work around my schedule. They showed up on time then quickly and easily fixed our dryer. Cost $89.00 to tell me he had to totally remove dishwasher at cost of at least $79 more and really...it would be best to get a new dishwasher...and off he went. with the $89 bucks. Repairman was NOT Tom Dishwasher was a BOSCH brand. read more

I have nothing but praise for Brad who came out to repair our 2003 Whirlpool Duet dryer. He was prompt, professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. He started with the most common fix, cleaning the lint from numerous areas including the heat sensors. He said this fix may not be the answer, but, try it out, then call back if it isn't running properly and he would return and not charge an additional service call. Twelve days later, I needed Brad to return. He called me to explain my few options left. And he had already researched the cost and availability of the part which was most likely needed. Unfortunately, the cost of replacing that part is a little less than a new dryer. In the end, I'll get by with my dryer until it totally crumps, but I so appreciated Brad's honesty, preparedness and foresight by providing me with options and facts so I could make a decision! If you are looking for an incredibly honest and knowledgeable appliance repairman, Tom is your go-to person. The icemaker stopped working on my 2-year-old GE side by side refrigerator, and the whole freezer compartment became covered with large iceberg formations. I defrosted everything with my hair dryer, but the ice formed again within 24 hours and still no ice in the icemaker. I called Tom, who was able to come out the next morning (I had called other places and was told I had to wait two weeks to a month for service). He said to take everything out of the freezer and refrigerator (luckily I have a garage fridge I was able to move the food to), unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours and let it defrost, then plug it in and everything should be fine. I was incredulous, but he said these refrigerators have a design flaw, he's seen this happen often over 34 years of working on them, and to just trust him. Sure enough, it worked like a charm, my icemaker is making ice and no ice buildup in the freezer compartment. A repairman could have told me I needed a new icemaker or other component and charged a fortune to repair this, but for a $99 service fee, Tom gave me an honest appraisal and got me all fixed up. By the way, the appliance store where I bought the fridge was going to charge me $129 just to come out, which would NOT be applied to any subsequent labor charges. I will recommend Tom to everyone I know. read more

If it were possible to leave a zero star review then I would.. after having my appliance for more then 10 days... they still had no answer for when I would get it back. Just like everyone else all I could do is call everyday and ask for an update and everyday they still said.. "I dont know".. and the lady that answered the phone actually hung up on me!! My father's 5 year old Whirlpool oven went on the fritz right before Thanksgiving. He called some local Jefferson County appliance repair people: one said he lived too far away from them (next county over), one never had an answering machine, one never called back. I read a review about Tom's Appliance Service online and gave them a ring. I left a message and they promptly called back. She was very knowledgeable, helpful, and honest about how soon a repairman could come out. The repairman came out for an evaluation and told us they could order the part and it would be in by Monday---and it was. All fixed! I was very impressed with their knowledge and attentive service. Thank you Tom! I called another business and they said that they could possibly come out the following week and look at the problem, go back and order a part if needed. My freezer outside had started to defrost, in our weather, our meat would have been spoiled and we would have lost a good amount of money when it was thrown away. After calling Christine at Tom's she said she would get right back to me. The call came and within less than 1/2 hour Tom was at my door. He let me know what the problem could be, he went to work on it and because of what he did and what he recommenced that we do, nothing was thrown out and the freezer is working like new. I have a fridge with dual ice makers. I live 16 miles north of Redding, and a lot of Redding businesses will not come to our mountain. Anyway, i called before Memorial Day, and the soonest Carmona's would schedule a trip was 6-4. I called right after Memorial Day to Scotts Appliance repair. It took several calls just to get a return call. I explained the problem and provided the model number. He said he would do some research and call me back. He NEVER called back, even after I left more messages. I called Tom who called me back within 5 minutes. He came to my house the next day and made a preliminary diagnosis. I had to leave the fridge pulled out with fans behind it to verify the problem. After several days, I called him with current status and he ordered the necessary part. The part arrived yesterday afternoon, and he came out this am and made the repair. I did not pay anything until today. Very happy with this company. I will use again, and recommend to my neighbors. read more

Brad was able to assess the problem immediately and provided an effective "McGiver" fix until a factory freezer door could be delivered. I want to publicly thank Tom for the terrific service we got from him. Our refrigerator went out just before July 4th. Tom's young assistant came and diagnosed a broken compressor. They tried to get a replacement but the refrigerator was over 30 years old so one wasn't available. (Yeah, Mom has had this frig since she moved in. They don't make them like they used to.) Tom had a used almond Kenmore that would fit in the space we had at a good price. After seeing what was available on the Internet, I decided to go with Tom's offer. Mother would very much have preferred to fix the old one; at 93 years of age and having a great fondness for HER own frig, me getting a new frig was a BIG deal. After all of the ruminating, it ended up being the 4th. Despite the holiday, Tom and his young helper showed up the morning of July 4th and swapped out the old frig for the new/used one. Frankly, I was holding my breath. If this new/used frig didn't work in one way or another, I would be in for years of chiding from Mother. After all, there were multiple ways Tom could have taken me. Now 3 months later, I have to say that not only did I get a good refrigerator at a decent price, I got it delivered on a holiday by two very nice men. Mother still sees it as foreign but I haven't gotten any negative feedback from her. read more

My newer fridge leaked and stopped making ice. Tom came out to diagnose the problem. Charged $74 dollars for service call. He ordered a part and returned to finish the repair. Charged additional $225 dollars for parts and labor. Total $300 dollars. That's great except my fridge leaks and does not make ice! After playing phone tag for weeks (months), my wife left a poignant message to call us back. I explained to Tom that I have been without an ice maker and filtered water for Thanksgiving, Christmas and two visits from out of towners. Why am I continually running to the store for a sack of ice when I paid him over $300 dollars? He did not like my tone and stated " why should I fix your fridge" and " I don't know where You guys are from.....". He hung up on me. As for the previous reviewer....she stated after seeing the positive reviews she decided to call Tom's Appliance Repair. News flash.....there was only ONE review for Tom's appliance. HER'S. Also, if Tom could fix her fathers fridge right before Thanksgiving than why couldn't Tom fix my fridge. So yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday and guess who had to go out and buy ice. Beware!
