I would HIGHLY recommend them and their methods - you can tell they genuinely love working with dogs and it's made a huge difference in giving my dog the chance to find real rest at home. They send DAILY updates with photos and videos which was so nice. My senior doggo, Xena, got a simple bath and grooming appointment with toothbrushing (extra $10), for the grand total to come up as $77 (so $67 for the wash/grooming). The process to get a grooming appointment may seem daunting at first, but I assure you, it goes fast and is all online. You go on their site and fill out a form for grooming, your information, your pup's information, and create an account where you can fill in your payment information. Then, all you have to do is email your pup's up to date vaccination records to Bone Jour (they will tell you these steps if you call or email them as well). I believe they are doing this for safety reasons, which puts me at ease that my dog won't get any infections here. She came back happy, smelling very fresh even 2 days after, and they even sent her back with a nice red bone bandana. The overall appointment took about 3 hours and it looked quite busy since I saw 3 other people dropping their fur babies off as I was arriving. They are staying safe with COVID protocols and assigning people generous windows of time to drop off their pups (ie: we were assigned the 7-10am slot). Bone Jour is staffed by friendly, organized, and efficient dog lovers, everyone spoke so well of Xena and I could tell they were gentle on her weak teeth and detail-oriented with her grooming!

We brought him home as an 8‑week‑old puppy and trained him daily, but he presented challenges beyond what we'd experienced before. Over the years, we've had seven dogs--five Sheepdogs, a Malamute/Wolf mix, and a Jack Russell/Terrier mix--and successfully trained them all at home without issues, so we are by no means amateurs. However, Artie was a true challenge. We even completed a six‑session training program with another trainer, and on "graduation day," Artie scored a D+. We missed him every day he was away for training, but the daily reports and pictures from Gina made the days bearable and reassured us that he was in great hands. Before Ridgeside K9, he struggled with excessive pulling on walks, jumping, biting, ignoring commands, running to the neighbor's house, and barking for no reason. Under Gina's expert guidance, he now walks calmly on leash, listens attentively, and responds reliably off‑leash--he's truly a new dog, a complete 180 from how he was before training. Gina demonstrated exceptional professionalism, communication, and genuine care throughout the entire process--providing detailed updates and ensuring we had the tools to reinforce his progress at home. The first two were an appointment canceled 1 hour before it was supposed to begin. The other was the worst haircut a puppy had ever received. But both of those things happen. Someone has a bad day or emergency circumstances. Today's interaction was entirely unacceptable and unprofessional. We arrived for a bath and brush after we had spent the weekend at the shore and the dog was playing in the water and dirt. My dog was visibly shaking as she is fearful of this place from previous grooming appointments. When we check in, we see a groomer who is shaving a small dog. The dog is audibly crying and the groomer is making fun of the dog to their coworkers. Just my luck, it is that same groomer who comes to take my dog. She touches my dogs ear and then the back of her legs and says "nope we can't wash her today. She needs a cut. You must reschedule." Turns around and walks back behind the counter......that was it. No explanation, no discussion, no working with us to figure out how we could get her washed today. This worker was incredibly rude and I hope other dogs don't have the misfortune of being groomed by her. We will not be back to this Petsmart. If you need grooming, I'd search elsewhere. Our family highly recommends Controlled K9! We adopted our boy Mortimer last year after he had been…read moreliving as a stray, and we were really struggling when he came home with basic manners, reactivity, and having him settle in with our other dog. We ended up sending both of our boys for a six-week board and train with Kelia. It seemed to only make sense to send both dogs so they would have the same baseline training. Kelia was amazing! She kept us informed just about every day with videos and texts so we could see that the boys were happy and making progress. When Kelia brought the boys home, she spent a few hours with us, showing all the commands and techniques that she taught them, so we had a seamless transition. The "place" command alone has been lifechanging. (Although as you can see in the picture, they sometimes refuse to use separate mats, LOL.) We use the command before we feed them, initially when guests come by, and when we just need them to settle down a bit. It has reduced the stress and chaos in our house tenfold, and we actually can see the boys relax when they know they have a place to go and chill out. Kelia also gave us the tools to make leash walking and general obedience so much more successful. There are a lot of options out there for training.
