If you know me, you know my wife and I eat out quite a bit--it just fits our lifestyle better than cooking at home. One of our favorite little hidden gems is TNT Pizza in Buchanan, Tennessee. It's about 10-15 minutes from us, down at Paris Landing. Coming from our direction, we cross Kentucky Lake to get there, and the scenery alone makes the drive worthwhile. Now, let me be clear--this place isn't fancy. But the food? Almost always delicious. When I order wings, I get some of the biggest ones around--huge drummies, huge flats. And my favorite pizza, hands down, is the Italian Stallion. (No, not Sylvester Stallone--though after eating it, you may feel like running up some courthouse steps and raising your arms in victory.) It took me a few tries before I realized what made it so different--it doesn't use marinara. Instead, it's made with Italian dressing, and that gives it a unique, unforgettable flavor. The service is fairly prompt, the staff keeps things moving, and the place is almost always busy. Not so busy you can't find a seat, but just the right amount of busy to let you know folks genuinely enjoy coming here. If you're in the area, don't pass this one up. Absolutely unacceptable service. I placed an order at 6:40 PM and didn't receive my food until after 8:35 PM -- nearly two hours later. I was understanding and patient, even called to politely check in. I was told the pizza was "just now going into the oven," despite the ridiculous delay. When my food finally arrived: * My 2-liter drink was missing (despite a $10 tip to the driver) * The crust was incorrect -- not what I ordered * And to top it off, the woman I spoke with on the phone called me a "b**ch" while speaking to her manager, loud enough for me to hear. That kind of unprofessional, disrespectful behavior is absolutely inexcusable -- especially when the customer has been more than reasonable under the circumstances. This is the only delivery option in the area, and it's honestly disappointing to see how little they care about quality or respect. I won't be ordering again unless ownership addresses this level of customer service. Update: "When the driver finally brought the forgotten drink, it was so over-shaken it exploded when opened -- and it was completely flat. Not only was I disrespected by staff and underserved, but the replacement item was practically undrinkable. I tipped generously and was treated like an afterthought. Again -- do better." read more

We picked up the Hawaiian eruption minus the hot sauce on thin crust. It was very tasty. Got the garlic bread dots as someone else suggested and they were great. Only wish we had a second marinara sauce to go with the garlic bread dots. Will definitely eat there again! read more

I run with the Bethel University crowd and regularly eat at TNT Pizza on Tuesday nights, when the shop hosts Trivia Night. The event itself is a great deal of fun and attracts about eight teams every week. I recommend the pizza as the shop uses fresh ingredients and piles on the extras. I do not recommend the chicken wings at all: they are rubbery and clearly baked rather than fried. No shop in the area makes real Buffalo wings. Service here can be hit or miss, as servers consistently get my **unsweetened** iced-tea order wrong, but everyone is friendly and as attentive as one might expect at such an establishment. Definitely check out the pizza and the trivia. I'll be on the winning team. read more

Stopped here on Fri night and met Teresa, co-owner of TNT. We had a HUGE, delicious pizza fresh from the oven along with a few ice cold draft beers. The staff was exceptional and really made us feel welcome. read more

Pizza was good. We got a 14" TNT Deluxe with pineapple. We chosen the hand tossed. It was larger than expected with a heap of toppings. Toppings were good quality but not high end at all. Would have liked a layer of cheese over the top to hold it together. Good pizza. Definitely better quality than a chain. read more

A little pricey when we get delivery. I have only had the pizza, but the pizza sauce is very tangy and acidic. I recommend light on sauce because they use a lot of it. Good for the country though. Recommend for sure. read more

Let's not neglect the McKenzie, TN location! My wife and I went for dinner tonight and she opted for Chicken strips and curly fries, which she assured me were excellent. I chose a bacon cheeseburger and fries which was BEYOND excellent! Now in all of my 70 years I can't remember ordering a second burger... but I did tonight, and will probably do so when I go back tomorrow. It was THE BEST burger I have had in a long, long time. TNT Pizza has very good pizzas, the thin crust TNT Explosion is outstanding. One thing I have observed is that the amount/quantity of toppings on the Pizzas decreases considerably when the Ky. Lake tourist season is going on. I guess tourists don't know/don't care about it, but as a year round local, that patronizes TNT throughout the entire yr., it's quite noticeable. The "Summer Time" pizzas aren't nearly the bang for the buck that the "off season pizzas" are. Now that tourist season is about to end, I hope the owners of TNT Pizza will once again start producing pizzas that have a generous amount of toppings, NOT the scrimpy ones they've been putting out this Summer. read more

Great food. The pizza was loaded down with toppings and the thin crust was perfect. The only reason they are not getting 4 or 5 stars is the service. Only 2 employees in the whole place and it wasn't enough for the crowd that developed. I will try it again though and hope today was an anomaly. read more
