Tom's Pizza is hands down one of the best places to eat in DeLand. The Tom's Combo is outstanding and always loaded with fresh toppings. Not only is the pizza excellent, but everything on the menu is delicious. The staff and owners are some of the friendliest people you'll meet. They genuinely appreciate their customers and make you feel welcome every time you walk through the door. What really keeps me coming back is the consistency. This place was a quick bite stop before going to court. I did not get to try anything because my nerves were high. I did take photos to share. The outside seating was nice to have and the to go window. Every pizza place should have one of these. The service was friendly and quick. I always go here on special or not special occasions, that ranch kicks serious.. uhh, can I even say that word? I remember when they served wings before, they were pretty good, until they stopped.. Apparently a local favourite, and obviously for good reasons. Here's how we went: - slice pizzas: got Tom's Combo (meats and veggies) and Tom's Veggie (veggies only). $2.25 per slice, you get your own little pizza wheel which was a great fun to use, all the toppings were tender and tasty, with nice thin crispy base and crust. We did NOT like that the pizzas were not hot enough. - Italian sandwich -in the photo-, very dry, so we had to ask for extra Italian dressing which made it a lot better, but the sub itself lacked flavour. For any Italian sub connoisseurs out there, we would not recommend this. - cheese bread: the server lady described this as a pizza turned inside out, and she was spot on. This was freshly made and we could tell because it was piping hot, plenty of cheese, came with salsa and ranch sauce. Have been eating here since I was a kid. Every time I come into town I stop by. Absolutely love the pizza and the bread sticks.

This is one of those restaurants that you will never forget the people or the food. The owners are amazing and have well trained staff that enhance the experience exponentially with their friendly approach to everything. The food is nothing short of extremely delicious. For $5 you can get an ice cold beer and fantastically fried onion rings! The pizza is different from everything you have tried before. The perfectly sauced, square sliced pie is always topped with a healthy amount of fresh ingredients. My favorite is the Ham and onion! (See the pic!) The bar has huge flat screen tvs so you can either come grab some beers and a quick bite to watch the game or you can simply be entertained briefly while they fetch your To Go order. This is the best pizza place I have ever been to!!! If this place delivered I would never cook. I was correct in my original review this place ROCKS!!!!!!!' I have been going to Tom's Pizza since we first moved to DeLand back in the 60's. To me there was no better pizza!! Over the years it has changed hands/owners. The pizza continues to be good but I have to say, we moved out of state in 2011. Every time we returned for a visit we would stop at Tom's for our pizza fix, and I was never disappointed. However, we moved back to Florida and on our most recent visit, I ordered a large pizza (12 pcs.) and two cheese steak subs, also one of my favorites - the bill came to over $30.00!! I was surprised to find the pizza tasted more salty than I remembered and the cheese steak, well the steak & cheese were hardly noticeable - way more bread than substance. For the price, we were disappointed with the amount of steak or cheese in our subs. This is the second and likely the last time I'll order a sub from Tom's and I hoped on our next visit the pizza isn't as salty. It hurts to write this critique since I have been a fan for nearly 50 years!! I won't stop coming to Tom's and t's my hope they were just having a bad day - but I certainly hope this visit is not going to become the norm!! I really hope the owners will read these critiques and take some action. Ways they can improve their restaurant: 1. Food should be served on plates, not in sheets of wax paper. 2. Pest Control and other bug pictures should not be displayed on walls. Customers can lose their appetites by a bad interior. 3. Servers stare you down as you eat. Not ideal. 4. Tips should be done in privacy, not with server looking over shoulder. 5. Pizza seems like it was frozen and bought at dollar store. With a little creativity, passion, and VISION they can turn this place into a restaurant to be proud of. read more

Wife and I stopped in on Tuesday around 4.30pm because my wife likes their one salad that has all kinds of items on it like pecans, chicken on romaine lettuce etc...I got their Chef Salad (huge disappointment) regardless what they say are the ingredients , they're there, but the smallest miniscule amount possible and it came in a bowl the size of a side salad..I asked the server if this was their $10 chef salad, she said yes and because everything has been going up in price was her answer...Now, they didn't loose a huge frequent customer but they lost a casual one.!!! read more

The price for a slice of pizza was very shocking and super cheap. After the pandemic and you sell slices for 1.25???? That's the only reason I'll be back. Honestly the pizza was very unremarkable and i was disappointed when i opened the box. But it wasn't horrible, it was just average. Not the place I'll go back to unless I'm low on money. I ordered from here last week to aid in my husband's quest to find the best pizza in DeLand, but unfortunately the journey continues. I opted for the mild boneless buffalo wings which I thought were really good. Even though they were mild they still had a bite, the breading was crunchy while the chicken itself was moist and tender. I didn't try the pizza, but my husband said it was "okay". If he feels like having pizza we might here again, but it's certainly not the kind of pizza that he will get a craving for. Cannot recommend after our experience. They got 4 out of 6 orders either partly or totally wrong. Two people had missing or wrong toppings. One person's chicken parmigiana sandwich had next to no cheese. For me, they put cheese on a salad after I specified dairy allergy, no cheese. Maybe they got it mixed up? This was one of my favorite places down town to get a sub or salad , however I got a chef salad tonight to take home and I was extremely disappointed the container is about 1/3 as big and it wasn't even full. The taste was still very good but after eating it for supper I was looking around the kitchen for something else to eat! I worked at Tom's in the 60's and the pizza is still pretty much the same I loved it then and I love it now. If you want NY or Chicago Style go somewhere else but if want to try an Orlando icon try Tom's. Next I will try the cheese steak and Italian sub to see if they're the same, this was the first place I tried the cheese steak sub as a young man and it was awesome. The staff was attentive and polite there was a lot of locals adults and high school kids there and they had a large lunch crowd.
