Honestly, I'm not very seasoned with chiropractors, but I took my fiance in to see one as he's had pain before and there was a deal going on. Win win! This establishment is small, but mighty. I've never been inside a sports chiro before, but there's some gym equipment available which enables you to show technique and see what can be aided, which I thought was nice. The area is very clean and also cold lol When we discussed with Dr. Ton about my fiance's ailments, I really liked how he was incredibly thorough. He not only asked follow-up questions, but he gave examples to help us better understand and verify information. He works off an iPad with a whole bunch of information and will go from top to bottom of the entire process. As for the cracking involved, my fiance came at a time when he actually wasn't experiencing any pain, but he did feel better afterward. We actually don't workout too much nor do we actually participate in sports, so this experience might not have been best suited for us, BUT I will say that Dr. Ton takes great pride and joy in what he does. I was searching for a place that focused on sports therapy and came across Ton Sports Chiropractic. My left shoulder wasn't feeling right, so I made an appointment. For some reason, I couldn't get under a squat rack without feeling a pull on my left shoulder, and Dr. Ton was able to diagnose my issue. He showed me some exercises to do (make sure you do them as your homework, you have to make sure you do your part to heal) that wouldn't irritate my shoulder as much. After doing the recommended exercises at the gym/home, I definitely felt more relief. He also does deep tissue massages during the sessions, and in his words, he doesn't use a massage gun because it feels like he's jipping people (people can just buy one at home and he wants to provide a service that HE can provide). His deep tissue massages help a lot. After a follow-up appointment, I've been able to get under a squat rack without any more issues. I messed my shoulder up and came to see Dr. Ton. The first exam was very thorough, with a lot of questions and a lot of movement tests. Dr. Ton has a pretty calm presence and took his time to avoid any major discomfort--just enough to know what the issue is, and what corrective action would improve it. After the exam, I felt pretty confident in his diagnosis. I didn't even mention that I felt like my arm was coming off when I'd throw something, but the way he described the issue with my arm was very much aligned. Afterward, he provided soft tissue treatment, adjustments, and prescribed a few therapeutic exercises. I know you can probably find a good routine on Youtube etc. but I didn't want to risk further injuring myself if I focused on the wrong thing, or had improper form. It's also nice to have another set of eyes point out things I'm not aware of in my form (like elbows hyperextending). The second visit was like a PT session. I was not expecting to work hard. (Tip: wear comfortable workout clothes.) The exercises felt really good on my shoulder and I'm happy I can add them to my knowledge bank. The second half of the session was more soft tissue work, and I got an adjustment at the end. Overall, I find Dr. Ton very knowledgeable and easy to work with. I like to ask a lot of questions and he gives great answers every time. He values his patients' time and will do his best to make the best of every session, according to what his patient would value. I've been having back problems for a long time now. I'm a 29yo female, I pole vaulted and sprinted in highschool, was always active, and probably messed up my back even more from deadlifting. I used to go to the gym about 4-5x/week and always pushed myself a little too far. Now, I'm a full time student in an accelerated program and sit for long periods while I study. Most days I'll sit for 8-12hours; and NEED my back cushion lol. I always felt pressure on the lower back after the fifth hour. Sometimes I'll even stand for a while just to relieve the pain or do a dead hang. Every morning I wake up and stretch my back and repeat this throughout the day. When I used to have a 2hr commute, sitting in traffic bothered my back so much, I would constantly wiggle around in my seat to help relieve the pain. Now, when I drive, I use a seat cushion to help relieve the pain. During my consultation phone call with Tomy, I could tell we were gonna get along! He asked me about my entire health history, any past injuries, etc. I didn't feel like I was giving information to a health care professional; I felt like I was talking with a friend who was actually concerned about my life! He wanted to know more about my 10x/month migraines, the triggers, what I do to relieve them, and how I treat them. During the first visit, he walked me through what we were going to work on, what to expect, and asked me along the way if I had any questions or concerns. We focused on my neck (recent whiplash from a snowboarding trip) and my back, and requested that I update him on how I feel over the next few days and throughout the week! He wrote me a note to give to my doctor so that I can get referred for an MRI to rule out anything that he suspected that I had going on structurally in the head region for my migraines. He educated me on his thoughts about my migraines and even reached out to another professional to get more information! After my back was adjusted, I went about my day, and noticed a HUGE difference! After having sat down for 4hrs, I realized that my back was nowhere near in any pain. I had forgotten what it was like to be without back pain. I got up to walk around a few times and still nothing! I felt like I was born again It's been three days, I PRed on my deadlift yesterday, and my back still feels great! A little sore of course, but doesn't hurt as much as before! Tomy is great! I was referred to Dr. Ton by a friend of mine. I came for my right knee that had been bothering me. It was my first time ever seeing a chiropractor so I wasn't too sure what to expect. He did a thorough assessment to find out exactly what was going on and made it a point to ask me if I had any questions frequently which I appreciated so much.
