Buying ink cartridges from Tonerland is risky. If the cartridge is bad - they will likely refer you to the manufacturer rather than handling a return for you. We've been trying to resolve the matter of replacing a $32 HP 61XL cartridge for about a week. Clearly Tonerland does not support their long-term customers. Buyer beware. UPDATE: HP eventually sent me a new 61XL cartridge and that solved the problem - Tonerland lost me as a customer because they refused to be helpful in replacing a defective product. read more

Sorry, my experience wasn't that great. The web site advertised my HP compatible color cartridge for $16.50 and I was happy with that. When I got there, I learned the price for customers at their store was considerably higher, $24.99, in fact. If it were a few dollars more than the Internet price, I could understand. But even if you add shipping to the Internet price, it is cheaper than the walk in price. I guess the lesson is to call before you go to make sure of the price. read more

I WOULD RATHER SWIM IN SHARK INFESTED WATER THAN GO BACK TO THIS STORE. (Yelp you should really think about adding no stars or negative stars function.) This is our first and last visit for this business. We bought over $300 worth of ink (6 boxes) for our business. When we got back to our office to use the ink. It didn't fit our printer. Mind you that the box said that it was compatible with the type of printer we had and the staff there gave it to us! When my husband went back to exchange it. That's when the party started. At first the staff didn't want to exchange the items we brought back. How do we know they weren't going to exchange it? Let's just say one of the employees flat out said NO. Um....you gave us the ink! My husband finally gets to speak with the "manager" of the store and what a joke! He was just as bad as the 1st person. He just had a manager title. 20 mins later my husband gets "the exchange" (3 boxes of ink vs. the original 6 boxes of ink) and a $50 credit on our card. That's of course after he had to argue with the entire staff there. My husband usually doesn't do confrontations but the staff there got him so worked up that he had to say something. Tonerland you guys must have pissed him off and pushed his buttons the wrong way. Oh....there was another customer there that was just as frustrated as my husband. He told my husband, "This place has the worse customer service." When the girl behind the counter gave him the evil eye. The customer said, "Yes I'm talking about you." You know there is something wrong with the business and staff if there are other customers in the store and they don't come to your rescue when you are being yelled at by other patrons but rather join the other frustrated customers in yelling at you. If you need toner go to Staples, Office Depot or another supply store. Why give someone your money if they don't care to treat you like a human being. You get 0 stars Tonerland! read more

Won't be back. Purchased a 564XL cartridge on Friday and as of last night (Saturday) I can barely see the words on my pages! I mean I didn't even get 20 prints! I won't be back. I am so upset as I homeschool my children and spend the weekends getting our assignments ready for the upcoming week. My whole week will be thrown off because I will have to use part of tomorrow to go out to get ink instead of doing work! I've been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The ink is as good and color-rich as the name brands but at low, low costs. It makes no sense to buy the expensive brands. Also they take back my empty cartridges. Can't be beat in this area. read more

It's 1:40pm on Friday and I'm out of ink in 2 cylinders of my printer and nothing will print...although, I only need to print black text. There's a place that sells ink cartridges less than 2 blocks from where I live in Inglewood, and a number of Staples and Office Depots in the area as well. However, since I have had a good experience with CSI Tonerland in the past, I decided to continue making the long journey to Gardena in 30 mph traffic to patronize this store. I am waited on by the General Manager, so I'm later told, who looks up the product that matches my printer. I purchase 3 original cartridges and 1 generic, for a total over $50. Trying to make it back to print and submit the material needed by 4pm. I get home and discover after inserting 2 of the original cartridges, that they were incompatible. At this point, I remove them and get back on the 405 freeway in heavy traffic. After a couple of miles, I call ahead to inform them that I was given the wrong cartridge, but the invoice displayed a different part number. The person that answered the phone was very unprofessional and rude. When I asked if the person that sold me the product was there, she informed me that he (the GM) had left for the weekend. Upon arrival, everything for me continued to go South. They initially told me that since I had opened 2 of the boxes I would only be allowed an exchange and would not refund the remaining 3, since I decided to simply return everything. I asked if they could contact the general manager to get it cleared, due to the obvious mistake and inconvenience. One of the 2 blurted out "you know what, I don't even have to serve you". I found this to be very a distasteful way to conduct business. However, she squandered to the warehouse portion to make a phone call. No sure if she was calling her general manager of the police, I waited for her return. The other attendant said that she would only exchange the products for the correct ones and I could address the matter with the GM on Monday. I'll accept the loss of time and opportunity and move on from this point, but after this incident and now reading all the other bad experiences here on Yelp,..I will certainly take my business elsewhere. This place is a minus infinity in customer service and courtesy. The store manager is a bully and has no manners ethics she discriminates and she threw me out of the store for no cause. She came out of the store and told me she is calling the police on me because I asked to return some recycled ink. I Would never ever go to this place there are plenty of other places to go. All this place likes to do is have people's cars towed away because that's the only way they make money. They receive a kickback from the towing company . I think it's immoral for them to do that especially if your not parked right in front of there business. Strange experience. I was in a hurry and almost finished with my purchase when an employee said the manager wanted the woman that was waiting on me to go to lunch and she should take over. I had to start again with the purchasing process and while I did I suggested that the next time possibly she could wait and let the process end rather than making the customer wait. Instead of an apology I recieved a explanation on the necessary lunch time proceedure. I called later to talk to Richard (the manager)but he didn't have time to talk to me. Excellent Customer service..............i was never treated so good in the world of generic ink cartridge and toners.....Bill was great very knowledgeable and very very helpful for me to decide on what printer to purchase. Highly recommended, not like a cartridge world shop in Pasadena by arroyo seco parkway...very rude it is like buying a camera in Manhattan...he wants to hassle you and make you feel like he is the supreme guru of generic ink toners, i guess he has a very BIG EGO that will turn off customers wanting to get good service and good price. read more

Do not buy ink here. Bought a "dried up" ink cartridge and they would not exchange. I am out $15 bucks.

I have bought toner cartridges here on at least three occasions and each time I have been asked what I wanted I have had to repeat it at least twice. Today i had to repeat it a third time because the young lady behind the counter was talking to her associate about what to order for lunch. When she asked (for the second time) what I wanted, the associate butted in to ask another question about the lunch order and so I had to repeat it a third time. For God's sake don't these people realize that they have no people skills and shouldn't be allowed to talk to the customers? read more

These guys and gals are as good as it gets. I needed ink for my old old printer and they had in in stock and at a price that was less than half of what I was paying. I told the office manager for my company and she says they will save $$$ every month. I don't know how they do it, but they do. Not sure what the others are saying about poor customer service. I have always had excellent customer service here. This week I had a problem with a generic toner cartridge and it was replaced no problem. They have a great selection of products and seem to accommodate the customer promptly. I have been there numerous times and my most recent resolution was managed by Bill. He is very friendly and customer orientated. Customer service unfortunately is sometimes nonexistent in today's retail environment (i.e. Frys). With Tonerland you get both; great prices and outstanding service.
