Don't go here for any sort of education for hair, first the teachers want to be your friends. Dont…read moreteach at all. They repeat the same exact thing every single time they do try to teach you. They do blowout boot camp and it's basically the only thing they really do, do. The one teacher Katie literally stinks so bad. I don't understand how you can hire someone for a beauty program who can't even keep up with their health. It's so bad respectfully you gotta plug your nose. The teachers don't even do their hair. They look a mess which is crazy to me. The front desk girl they had while I was there, the red head (didn't care to remember her name she doesn't deserve to be remembered) . Good god. She needed to be fired asap. She would legit argue with us like she had a right. She didn't. She was so snotty and everyone hated her. Austin tried but he needs to maybe try to start being a teacher and not our best friends. They force clients on you and then say they will help you but then have 2 teachers out there who when they do help you, make it look horrible and god. When it comes to toners good luck. They don't know nothing. They hide the bleach so you can't practice with it on the floor. the environment is so hard to want to stay. If they want to have a good place where you actually learn and people want to actually be there, then they need more people like the Ashley. She actually takes the time and shows you exactly what to do step by step. Being in a HUGE class like they do makes it so hard to focus. Goodluck. You pay all that money to just count down the days to be done.

Took my daughter here to get her hair done for Homecoming. A student (I believe her name was…read moreKelsey) was assigned to my daughter's hair that day. Long story short, it was awful. There was so much hairspray in her hair that it looked like snakes coming out of the back of her head. I had to take her to another salon and have it completely taken down and redone. Not even an instructor at Scott's came to look at it before she was sent out the door. Side note- I understand that these people are students and have quotas to make, but they need to have better instruction and supervision. For the price I paid to have my daughter's hair done twice, next year I'll skip the college and stick to a regular salon.

I remember thinking that this was unusual but just tried to pull through. When I completed the core theory coarse with all the obstacles such as no books I moved onto the practical coarse. I had a rude awakening!!!! I sat in class for weeks starring at myself in a mirror because the owner Joe Mamone wouldn't give me my kit to learn the hands on portion. After sitting there tired due to being a working mother I realized things weren't right, especially for the money they charge. In that time my instructor spent most of her time painting her nails or booking vacations instead of teaching us. We had to beg for trash bags and then be denied even small things like that to fill his trash cans (weird), then at one point an instructor took a pair of gloves out of the trash washed them off and have them to a student to do a service on a client due to not being provided with gloves let alone trash bags. I realized I will not be paying for a trash education for that money. I dropped out after begging for my personal file and never getting a response let alone something that is mine and by law should be provided to me at any time. I went to elite academy of hair design and was informed I had to start completely over due to not being taught . Don't make the mistake I made!!! Don't trust Scott College Of Cosmetology!!!! Now I'm being threatened financially by Scott's to pay them for something I never received. Also the day I walked out of Scott's as a senior on the floor I yet to receive even a hair dryer. There is so much more that happened but it's too much to type end result I wasted time away from my child, cut back at work, miles on my car, being harassed daily by crack heads in wheeling , and lost all that time to gain nothing from this school. Word from the wise choose elite!!!!

I understand they are learning but do not also get confused by "junior/senior" or "freshman" because it's only a one heat program to learn these things. and the inside is so messed up she asked me what toner i wanted for my hair when that's suppose to be her job. terrible terrible do not go there

Averie was inexperienced at Spiral Perms (I was her first one ever and she'd not even practiced it…read moreon a mannequin!). She got very little guidance and because I have had several spiral perms, I assisted her through the process. It took from 10 am until just prior to 4 pm for my perm. Again, this was due to her inexperience and the need for her to be guided more than she was. The perm turned out excellent. She did so well for someone who had never done a perm on a person. She said she'd only done perms on a mannequin, but they didn't use any product, so I'm impressed that she was able to do it. I am unhappy that it took 6 hours, but I have a lot of kudos for Averie. Not so much for her teachers whose job it is to guide her throughout the process. I heard them complain to Averie that it took all day and I heard the one teacher complain to another that Averie was still not done (help her, maybe?) I'll definitely go back and give them another shot and I even hope that I get Averie again (although I am sure she is sick of giving perms lol).
