Ordered takeout from Tono and had a pretty mixed experience. We got the Don Carlo pizza with burrata, and unfortunately it didn't travel well. The burrata was completely melted by the time we got it, which made the pizza really messy and kind of soggy. It ended up being hard to eat, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the flavor of the pizza itself was still decent. The Italia salad was a highlight and really good. Ordering was super easy and convenient through their online system, and everything was ready quickly for pickup. The staff was also really nice, and the space looked great. Plenty of seating if you decide to dine in. I'd probably try it again, just maybe opt for a different pizza next time or dine in instead. read more

Came here for a low key date night and it was great! Plenty of free parking! You can either order with a person up front, or there are computers when you first walk in (love that!) We used the computer and got the Tono and Don Carlo. Both were amazing! The Don Carlo however won my heart! This made it onto my "best pizza in Minnesota" list! It's creamy with the cool burrata cheese, salty, sweet with the hot honey(not too hot, Mn friendly) crunchy! Oh my gosh I was raving about it for days! We also got the beast mode fries. Those were VERY filling, and you get a lot! Also very tasty! If you have never been, this place has a ton of free sauces that you can just grab from the pick up counter or cooler! And alllll of them are good! The people who brought the food out were friendly and polite! Our only major "I wish they had" was more diet soda options or even better, zero sugar options on the fountain soda! If you haven't been, give this place a try! read more

I've been wanting to try Tono Pizzeria for a long time and finally made it! I've been looking for a good cheesesteak sandwich so I ordered the supreme. I ordered in store to go. You can customize the sandwich to your preferences - meat and cheese options with additional toppings. The server was a bit cold and seemed annoyed when I asked for recommendations on customizations. I chose the steak with cheese whiz and skipped the jalapeños. Everything is made to order but cooks very fast. I maybe waited 10 minutes. The sandwich was a shareable size. Lots of toppings on a sturdy hoagie roll. The steak was the consistency of ground beef and could use some more seasoning. I've seen other reviews that mentioned a garlic aioli that would likely take this sandwich up a level. The fries were really basic and not anything special. While I waited on my order it seemed like the majority of customers were getting the pizza. I will have to try the pizza next time since it looked really good! read more

We came for Tono Tuesday's BOGO pizza and drink. Our margherita pizzas were as phenomenal as all the other Tono locations we've tried. The sauces were also tasty as usual! My daughter and I both got balsamic sauces, but mine was thick like jelly and hers was thin and runny like soy sauce, so there was some inconsistency noticed. The patio was adorable and I loved the sails above that provided us with great shade. Service was great. I had asked for lids to take our soda drinks to go. Since they were out of lids, they asked if I wanted some bottled drinks instead. read more

We really liked Tono in Highland Park, but this location isn't quite the same. The biggest thing is that your order seems like more of guidelines than an actual order. For example, I ordered a full sandwich and my wife a half sandwich, but we both received the same size. I paid to add Peppadew peppers, and there might have been 1 in the whole sandwich. We both ordered garlic aioli on our sandwiches, and I'm glad I grabbed a side cup of aioli, because there was none added to the sandwich. Fries were soggy and sandwich was bland. Value for price is low. read more

What a great find for Neapolitan pizza! You can order at the counter or self order with the touchscreen. Upon ordering, you will receive a number for your table, and your food will be delivered. Great for families and large parties. Overall, easy and seamless experience. Staff were very helpful and very nice. Surprisingly, our food came out pretty quickly and everything was incredible. Our favorite was Don Carlo! The steak sandwiches were really large with interesting options. The Pretty Boy is definitely a must try! Wish they had this chain in the East Coast. read more

I personally had a great experience Sunday night. They welcome you in as soon as you walk in the door. My husband and I ordered a Fraser pizza and the Tono. We both loved them! We grabbed one of every sauce to try (they are free!) there's 3 in the fridge next to the fountain drink machine and 3 unrefrigerated on the checkout counter. My favorites though were the garlic aioli and the tono tangy sauce. Highlight of the evening was the beast mode fries. I would just get these next time because the portion is SO BIG. We will definitely come back anytime we are craving a brick oven pizza! read more

Did a take out order he other night and it was so good. Service was stellar I walked in and ordered 2- cheesesteaks with extra cheese and a sausage and onion pizza. I like about 10 minutes away and was worried that it would be super cold by the time I got home. The pizza was still warm and hot he cheesesteaks were gooey according to my kids. I love their pizzas and subs. The ambiance is loud af though. The ventilation sounds like a jet engine and will blow all your napkins around the store. It drowns out some faint Drank Sinatra in the corner and the kitchen is a cacophony of the chefs slamming down their spatulas making the cheese steaks. Welcome to the neighborhood. Went there on Sunday and tried the classic pizza and it was amazing, it reminded me of the pizza back in NYC. Crunchy crust, salty cheese a lil chew to the dough. Went again the following day and got the classic and the margarita and classic cheese steak. Pizza was off tasting the 2nd time. It tasted like the pizza wasn't cooked all the way through, it tasted like flour that was not cooked, which over powered the taste of sauce and cheese. The cheese steak was good. We will go and try their pizza again, I'm sure their pizza will taste amazing once again. The service is fast and served with a Genuine smile. The sweet balsamic with the spicy oil was delicious to dip the pizza crust in. Punch Pizza got some competition. Will rate again on our next visit. I have high hopes. read more

Tonos just opened nearby, so we gave it a try with the Philly Cheesesteak (steak, white American, fried onions) and the Pepperoni Bianco. The cheesesteak was flavorful and well-balanced -- melty cheese, savory onions, and a soft roll that held up perfectly. Despite how it looks in the photo, the bread-to-meat ratio was just right. The Pepperoni Bianco had great flavor, with a crisp yet tender crust. The slices had a bit of that classic Neapolitan "flop," thanks to the generous toppings -- no complaints here. Only thing we'd do differently next time is eat it fresh at the restaurant instead of waiting till we got home. read more

I was really excited to try this new location and unfortunately was not as impressed. We ordered the tono pizza and the prince cheesesteak. The cheesesteak prices for $15-16 are pretty pricey in my opinion, so I was expecting it to taste fantastic. The bread itself was dry and the flavors were just not there, it tasted like ground beef with some tomato sauce topped with lettuce. The only good thing working for it was that the meat was plentiful. The Tono pizza itself was okay, I liked how thin it was but the crust was not as light and fluffy as the ones from punch pizza. Not sure if that is how it usually should taste, but I've had other Tono location pizzas and liked it a lot. read more

I met fellow yelper Rhonda here for late lunch as I was technically working til 330. Thanks to following yelp and Jim L's photo, I knew Tuesdays were buy 1 get 1 free for pizzas. You also needed to buy a fountain pop for $3. I chose ham and mushroom for spouse's pizza and Goodfella for mine. Goodfella has pistachio cream sauce, chicken, bacon and charred tomatoes. The first pizza arrived with a few burnt pieces on the crust. Server took it back and remade it. The second one seemed to have more char but I digress. She seemed to have attitude after she brought the second one. I only ate 2 slices and brought the rest home. My spouse ate all but 2 slices so he enjoyed his pizza. For some unknown reason these pizzas tasted better the 2nd and third day. I also liked dipping the crust in garlic aioli. I may want to try the cheesesteak as it comes with fries. Please have ketchup in bottles not packets for the fries. Please have more variety in pizza such as brisket, pickle pizza, gyro. I received a birthday email for $10 off my next purchase. read more

It's been awhile since I've been at a Tono's and I suggested to Michelle A. that we should try it. Let's say that any Tono's is better than none. We both took advantage of the Tuesday special and our spouses got a pizza for dinner. There are instructions you'd better tell them at the register. First if you don't want pizza very charred on the edges or the bottom. They had to re-do hers that she ate on site. Next, I had a Philly cheesesteak with whiz. Whiz was mixed through but none slathered on top, it didn't look right to me but it had been so long since I had one I couldn't place it, until I just scrolled through the pictures. Everything did taste great though. This location isn't as large as the others, just as well since it wasn't as clean and tidy either. Dirty tables, floor needed sweeping, chairs not straight. We met at 3:30. It was nice to see the dinner hour fill up about 5. This location has been a revolving door of chains, but I still have faith that Tono's will stick around. What an amazing day to truly welcome Tono Pizzeria officially to the neighborhood. It was a chilly one, and my sons & I came & waitied in line for the event. Being Philly born, we get a sense of taste everywhere, but when you moved to a different state, you always miss that. After ordering our free pizzas(Thank you so much), & our free cheese whiz fries(no, they weren't free, but had to have them, and so should everyone). We order another Margherita pizza, the Pineapple Express & the Pepperoni Bianco. I had already been here 4 days in a row, so for a fresh perspective, I gave my pallet a rest. But, The Margherita, I could eat it all day. The Pineapple Express, was a suprise. Previously eaten all sorts of Pineapple pizza styles, this one caught me. Overall, it did seem to have more of a bite with the sweet chili sauce, compared to a bbq type sauce, whereas the pineapple was super sweet. It was good no doubt tasty, but perhaps my pallet is stuck on a sweeter type bbq sauce, but could change with time. Lastly, we have a new favorite that really blew me away. The Pepperoni Bianco was awesome. Your first bite has some hints of spices, but then the next bite was as sweet as candy. I was really pleased with that one. Even my sons voted this pie was the best of our 3 pizzas we tried that day. And I could stop there. Although, my wife was working, we came in with a Tono Pizza box with 3 different slices for her lunch. She was even astonished on the flavor that came in the Pepperoni Bianco. I can't wait to return to try another item. Also, I just want to say that on my 3 day there, I ordered a special cheesesteak that isn't on the menu. I wish it was. But, when given a side cup of the pizza sauce, and after trying as in, I felt like I was in my own Pizza place back home. It reminded me so much of their sauce, not to compare, but to be delighted that I don't have go East across the states back to home to get it. That was truly a great day for me. Just feeling right home. Who knows maybe just like Norm had his barstool at Cheers, one day I may have chair at Tono. Thanks again guys, you have made us most happy with your food. read more

Cheesesteak was a huge pile of unseasoned chopped meat that was too heavy for the bun so it had to be eaten with a fork. Nah!!! This isn't Cheesesteak! Jersey Mikes still does it better than anyone in these parts. Salt and pepper is tied up in a take out fork/knife bundle. This new spot is a must hit!! The food that we got was the pepperoni Bianco. I love that they have containers of hot honey, which goes amazing with the pizza!! The pizza is hot and fresh and the crust has the perfect texture and char, and the pizza itself is not too heavy or doughy but still has a great chew factor! Best pizza I've had in the Midwest. 100% reccomend. We also got the pretty boy cheesesteak. All of the toppings complimented each other, the bread was fresh the bacon went SO good with the meat and lettuce and the jalapeño jam and jalapeños added a nice kick. Sooooo saucy and a little messy but so tasty. And it came with fries, which were so good! They were perfectly crispy and salty, and they were just perfection. The employees were nice, not anything particularly special, but you can see them making the pizzas if you look, and that's a treat! The inside was cool, a good amount of seating in the venue.
