Ive let it slide for years because I just wanted my child to have consistency and he's a decent barber. However, lately Ive noticed that he will charge some of his male customers less than the prices listed...and I started feeling taken advantage of so I just started giving him exact change ( because tips are optional and at the will of the customer). A good businessman would never take a tip. Today, my son got his hair cut and once again I gave him $12...and he lost it! He told me that the tip that he's been TAKING is for me to show my appreciation for cutting my son's hair and if I can't tip, he cant cut his hair. Needless to say....we will NEVER patronize his business again.

I was on Calumet and was waiting for the guy to get back from lunch, as the sign on the door…read morestated. It was raining and I had about 15 minutes to go and then realized that there were 4 other guys waiting in their cars and another came around from the front. Good, bye! There are about a dozen barber shops on 6 between Calumet and Torrence. I have tried 3 of them, that I will not be returning to. I spot this joint and Lou is all by his lonesome! I popped in and there was a younger lady behind the counter. I was seated right away and we got on our way. He started talking to me like we were old friends. Nice guy. But when he was cutting my hair, it seemed as though he was just flying thru it. Not in a hurry, he just knew what he was doing after 90 years in the business. he shaved my neck and thru the whole process kept sweeping the hair off my face. He also had a damp towel that got rid of the rest before I left. It's been years that I haven't left a barber without half the hair that was cut, still on my head. Lou is my new guy for a high and tight.
