I don't know about the other food here but the pizza was horrendous. It's extremely sweet and sugary which is unsettling. There was so much red sauce it was like a soup on top of soggy bread. We threw it away and didn't eat it it was so bad. I had high hopes but it was so disappointing. I hate leaving bad reviews but I wouldn't want anyone else to go here and end up just as disappointed and upset as I was. read more

This pizza is certainly unique. One you either love or hate. I personally LOVED it!! I have only had it frozen and cooked at home(stupid Covid), which I will note from previous experiences with other restaurants generally taste different. This was delicious however softer than most pizza dough/crust. However the crust is AMAZING, it's like pizza on top of a Texas Roadhouse roll simply AMAZING!! This has been a favorite of mine since I was little. My entire family loved Tony and Ann's and when the original owner's family re-opened in Dracut we were all extremely happy. Now this pizza is certainly one which will NOT be everyone's cup of tea! The sauce is SWEET. With some topping choices it seems as if the crust is almost non-existent because they put SO many toppings on. If you are trying to pick this pizza up with your hands anytime before you are down to about your 4th or 5th bite remaining you are doing it wrong! If you are eating in they are giving you a plastic knife and fork for a reason. Use them! Everything here is great and all is a good value. Have yet to try the calzones but the pizzas, subs, french fries (fresh cut, especially), chicken tenders, and meatballs are all great and served piping hot. The frozen pizzas are great for those times when Tony and Ann's isn't open (Sun - Weds) and you need your sweet pizza fix. Note: If the sweetness of the sauce turns you off ask for light sauce. If the crust is too soft for you ask them to cook it a little longer. They will absolutely cater to your request and serve you the pizza that YOU want. Great people and great food! I was craving pizza on this cold, blustery New England night. We usually go to Vic's, but decided to venture out and try other places. H did what a good man should and checked Yelp for reviews of decent pizza places in Dracut/Centralville. Seeing that Tony and Ann's had a four star rating and was less than two miles from our home, we decided. Yes. Let's do this. This pizza establishment is easy to get to/from as this is one of two "major" streets in town. It's located on Broadway across the street from CVS and has, what looks like, three designated spots assigned to the pizza joint (although I'm sure you can park anywhere if you're in and out). First off, H and I called three times to make an order. The first two times were met with an answering machine... and after hearing the regular business hours and then the holiday hours, there would be no way possible for the restaurant to be closed at 4:15 on a Saturday afternoon. Well, I guess three times is the charm. My call was answered by a hasty boy asking for my order- a large mushroom/pepperoni pizza for pick up. The wait was 25 minutes.. but whatever. It's Saturday night. Upon arrival, I can't help but think that the pizza was made sloppily and with absolutely no regard to the customer. The texture of the overall pizza was soft- EVERYTHING was soft. The crust and edge of the pizza was soft, nearly soggy (I NEVER eat edges because I don't like how it's usually so brick hard. Tony and Ann's pizza had the opposite effect.) and barely kept its shape. The cheese did not ooze off the slice, but slid off due to an abundance of sweet sauce and layers of cheap cheese. The pepperoni was not at all crispy and firm, but soggy and messy beneath the cheese. The mushroom was CANNED and goopy. (I prefer it fresh, but hey that's me). My plate was left with huge stains of red oil.. Blech. But the thing I can't get over is a LARGE pizza is a 12" and the stupid pie cost $14 + tax/tip? Yeah. Definitely pass. If you live in the Lowell area it's more than likely that you know about this local legend. The pizza served at Tony and Ann's is a one of a kind. The pizza has a sweet sauce and unique cheese blend that you won't find anyplace else - and this CAN NOT be overstated. In addition to the unique taste, the place has a storied history, with three generations involved in the business, and several spots on the Simpson's in the 90's. Tony and Ann's spent the majority of it's existence in North Chelmsford, before closing it's doors in 2002. However, the grandchildren of the original founders reopened the restaurant in Dracut early in 2010. And through it all the recipe and many of the faces behind the counter have remained the same. Some personal favorites of mine are the plain pizza, and meatball sandwich. Worth noting is that they also sell frozen pizza's. In the past Tony and Ann's used to close in the winter, so people would stock up with "frozens" while they were closed. Used to like Tony & Ann's. Used to travel an hour to get it after they opened in Dracut. However, since the Pandemic, even though everyone else is completely open, they are only open for 7 hours a week now (on Fridays) to get a hot pizza. A lot of us have to work on Fridays so your tough out of luck I guess. On top of that I need to eat Gluten Free & always brought my own crust so I could eat their pizza. That is no longer an option since they are only open 7 hours on Friday. I emailed them to ask if it was possible for me to bring my G-free crusts on Saturday to get a par baked pizza since you could (at the time) pick up par-baked pizzas on Saturday. They never responded at all (not a yes, not a no, no answer at all). Apparently any type of customer service has now taken a back seat. To me it looks like they are slowly in the process of going out of business, otherwise they would care about their customers (not to mention being open for more than 7 hours a week) who used to go out of their way to get a hot pizza from them. read more

I have Tony and Anns since i was a teenager.I believe it was 1955.Later after leaving the Air Force and going out with my future wife and our life together we went to get Tonys famous cheese pizza and and a veal cutlet sandwich .Those were great years we loved the food. Hours must be funky, tried calling on a Saturday around 5:30pm and kept getting voicemail stating that if you are hearing this we are on the other line.... Gave up on them after about 45 minutes and went somewhere else. Thing is, had to drive by Tony and Anne's to get my alternate pizza & saw that they were closed. I love Tony & Ann's! The pizza is great (though definitely an acquired taste). If you love sweet sauce (and lots of it), this is your place. I always get the chicken parm pizza. It's delicious! The T&A fries are a great snack as well. Also highly recommend opting for the fresh cut fries over the crinkle cut... it really makes a difference! The family that runs it are very kind. This is the sweet, floppy lifetime favorite of my husband that I became a fan of once I moved to the region from NY. It's nothing like NY pizza,so don't go there thinking that that's what you'll get. Rumor on the street is either you like Tony and Ann's or you don't. The sauce is thick and sweet and when I first tried it, I didn't like it. I've tried a few different pizzas at Tony and Ann's but have settled on my favorite of the Hawaiian. The warm pineapple and thick cuts of sweet ham go perfectly with this sweet sauce and I'm game each and every time. This was the first time I've walked in to order, their website makes it clear you'll get food faster if you order in AND it even gives you instructions on how to handle the pizza after you get it. Over a week ago. Two pizzas and BOTH had hair in them. There was a big unclean hairy fella behind the counter I'd never seen before. I suppose he's the culprit... I emailed and they were apologetic about it and told me to come back and they'd make it up to me. Nope. I told them they could mail me my $41.50.. they didn't ask for my address, I guess that's a no ! lol. I'll never go back. Went here today for lunch, it was the first time I had been here in about 5 or 6 years. It seems that the pizza has changed but only a slight bit and in my opinion for the better. Or maybe I am just crazy and don't realize that it didn't change at all - LOL. But I thought that it was not as thick and not as sloppy as it used to be and the sauce not quite as sweet. However it is still a sweet sauce - which I like. I got 2 slices of meatball pizza, which were actually 4 slices, a small order of fries (which were so many I couldn't even finish them ) and a bottle of water and it was $12. A bit pricey for two slices and fries in my opinion.. The meatballs were probably the most tender and flavorful that I have had in many, many years. When I was little, my parents used to bring me and my sister to Tony and Ann's pizza. We went in, Tony gave us a dum, dum, and then we were allowed to eat only one slice of pizza in the car (because it's messy!) The smell of the pizza in the car was so ridiculously good. Tony started to get old and had to wear an oxygen tube in his nose. He was still excited to see my sister and me, and always engaged us in warm conversation (and gave us a dum dum!) Not too long after, we went for pizza and was greeted with a notice on the door. It explained that Tony had passed away. I'm fairly certain every single member of my family cried that day--because Tony was a great man and we were losing a wonderful pizza joint. Tony and Ann's shut down and for many years, we hoped that it would reopen. Then, one day, I got an email from my mom, saying that there was a new pizza joint, and it was trying to replicate the Tony and Ann's recipe. It was pretty good--as soon as I took a bite I was brought back to the good-ol-times. But it wasn't quite perfect--the crust was to granular. THEN, I got another email from my mom....and then my aunt....and then my sister.......Tony and Ann's was reopening!!!!! Not immediately though....they made us wait! The day it opened, I got a text message from my mom with a picture of her standing in a loooong line. Then, another picture of her eating the pizza! I had to get home quick!! I needed to have some pizza! Soon enough, I was able to travel home. Obviously, my mom bought some frozen pizzas, so I popped one in the oven.....WAITED...AND THEN CONSUMED... FEROCIOUSLY. I may have cried a little. It was so good. Then, I had the chance to go to Tony and Ann's personally. LET ME TELL YOU. I didn't think it could get any better. Having a slice right out of the oven is ridiculously spectacular. Our order came to about 100 dollars. You may think, "Wow! That's expensive pizza." But do not fret, we just bought about 20 frozen pizzas to go. Our trunk was dragging on the road....and we had to buy a new fridge. BUT IT IS WORTH IT! Tony, I miss you. Darn it. I didn't want to be the first one to give a not-so-stellar review of this place. Tony and Ann's is a legend in the area...and most will nod their head in agreement as the story is told on how it had originally be open in North Chelmsford...open for years on end, closed for 7 years and just re-opened thanks to the grandkids...tales of brutally long lines and having to order hours ahead of time...why wouldn't I want to love this place...I truly did. And get this...the place is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday...that's it, so plan accordingly. They take credit, so no worries on hitting an ATM. I was SO looking forward to trying this pizza, I had a food happy high all week before I went. I wanted to leave this place, trying to determine in my schedule when I would come back. My friends and I ordered two large pizzas...one cheese and one Tony and Ann's "Special"...which consists of a typical Supreme Pizza anywhere else: Onions, Peppers, Sausage, Pepperoni, Mushrooms. About $17 for the Special...and $10 for the Cheese. Went between lunch and dinner on a Saturday afternoon to avoid any crazy lines, etc. So...as you're all aware, the sauce is sweet. As we say in New England...wicked sweet. Like holy-crap-did-they-spill-sugar-in-the-sauce sweet. I've had sweet pizza sauces in the past...and I am actually a fan. This one is...well...wow. So down the hatch went a cheese slice...ok, it's really sweet. Keep eating. Second went a Special Piece...better...the herbs, meat and veggies help take a bit of the edge off. Really greasy...not sayin' that's a bad thing, just making an observation. By the 3rd piece, I really was not diggin' the overwhelming taste anymore. I must admit...it's unique. Have not had a pizza like this one. Now I have heard...you'll either love it...or you'll hate it. Well, I really cannot say I hate it, but even these two stars might be more of a 1.5...just not sure I would crave it enough to go out of my way to make it back there. Maybe it's a nostalgia thing? This is the worst pizza I have ever eaten in my entire life. The sickeningly sweet sauce was a total turn off and ruined it entirely. I choked down one piece before calling it quits. They would need to cook the pies longer at a higher heat, add more cheese, and remove the massive quantities of sugar they add to the sauce to make it palatable. I know a lot of people grew up with this place when it was over in N Chelmsford...and that's fine....nostalgia is a great thing. But....IMO....this is some of the worst pizza on the planet. I HATE pizza. Never liked it. Ever. So when friends and family over the years and growing up all wanted to eat pizza, I had to just suck it up and go hungry. I'm 44 years old, and this past year my husband just introduced me to Tony & Ann's pizza, which he's been talking about for years on end. I wasn't interested. However, he convinced me to give it a try during the grand re-opening... and I was HOOKED. Sweet sauce? Who knew it existed?! I don't even have a sweet tooth but I love the contrast between savory cheese and sausage and their sweet sauce. I absolutely CRAVE this pizza. For the first time in my life I get excited when a pizza comes home. I can't explain it, but I damn well love it. Thank you Tony & Ann's for making pizza a part of my mainstream diet. We drive 44 miles to get this pizza and take home frozen pizzas to make at home (take home is good, but not as amazing as eating it fresh) I first had this pizza when they were in Chelmsford and instantly fell in love... was disappointed when they closed and longingly awaited their re-opening - hoping it would taste the same... And it did! So what is so unique... And will you love it or hate it? - the sauce is sweet - the cheese is smokey flavored - I wish I knew what cheese blend they use - the pizza can be soupy, lots of sauce, but I love that! You really need a fork if it's fresh out of their oven, you can also ask for light sauce... But why would you? My favorite pie is a pepperoni and onion... I'm not sure what all the rave is with this pizza place. I've been dying to try this pizza for months and finally broke down and did it. I ordered a large peperoni pizza for pick-up. Brought it home and took my first bite - it was good but the sauce was way too sweet, but still it was good. Then I realized why is all of my cheese and sauce falling off the dough and I realized that the dough was sooooo soggy! They have this pizza in this plain box, which I kind of like a pastry box and under the pizza you will find tinfoil. Not sure why, prob. because the pizza is so dam soggy the pizza box will just disintegrate if left too long w/ the pizza in it. It also seemed like the pizza was not fully cooked and this may have been the problem - or just bad dough, who knows. I had heard "you either love it or you hate it" in reference to their pizza - mainly because of the sauce - it's sweet. Yes, in terms of my New England upbringing - it's wicked sweet. I agree with others on here - I didn't HATE it - it's more along the lines of it's not a pizza that suits my tastes. The sauce is sweet (very sweet to me). However, this sweet sauce is exactly what makes my good friend (who isn't even crazy about pizza) absolutely love it! Guess we have different tastes in pizza. I love that it's locally/family owned and operated. Service was fast & friendly - a nice neighborhood establishment. I'm glad they have a local following and do so well in their business - they obviously work hard and produce a product that is popular in their community. I admit that I have a soft spot in my heart for Tony and Ann's as I have so many fond memories of my parent's taking my brothers and I to their old North Chelmsford location many years ago, with Tony leaning out the window chatting up a storm :) We loved their pizza then, and my wife, kids, and I love it still. Unlike the cookie cutter Greek style pizza shops that are so common in the Merrimack Valley, Tony and Ann's pizza is unique. Their signature sweet sauce stands out in a very positive way. The pizzas may not be perfectly round, slices not all cut the same size, and a bit on the oily side with cheese swimming loosely on top of the pie making it difficult to eat by hand, but this only adds to the pleasurable experience. Their options have the standard run of toppings, but also a few additional no so usual, such as hot dog, shepards pie, and baked ziti. My personal favorite is their buffalo chicken pizza. The heat of the buffalo chicken and their sweet sauce compliment each other perfectly. In my opinion, it is the single best pizza in the area. My wife and I keep going back for this terrific pizza. But you can't go wrong with any of them. They do have calzones, subs, fresh hand cut fries, meatballs, and a few other sides. But the pizza is the main attraction here. I strongly recommend you give it a try. And if you go for their buffalo chicken pizza, tell Paul that you heard of it from Barry. read more

For a town of it's size, Dracut seems to have an inordinate amount of pizza shops (well over ten, by my Google-assisted estimate)... When Tony and Ann's announced their comeback after a few years' hiatus, the Lowell Sun made it sound like the second coming. Though intrigued, we were kept at bay by the reported hours-long wait when the place first opened. We finally got the chance to try Tony and Ann's this evening and while the sauce is unique, I was neither blown away, nor turned completely off. Price / portioning is reasonable; we ordered a large cheese pizza ($10.95) for our family of four (two kids under the age of four included) and everyone ate their fill. The restaurant is not fine dining by any means... an average pizza place in every sense of the word... business hours are limited to Thursday through Saturday evenings, so don't plan to make it your go-to pizza shop unless pizza nights are restricted to the evening. My wife went in to pay for our take-out order, so I cannot comment on the service, but she did not come back offended... Bottom line, get there early or be prepared to wait. Pizza sauce is definitely unique, sweeter than those of the other pizza joints in town... not sure if it will be enough to keep people coming back, but they do seem to have their faithful loyalists... read more

Ok. So I like pizza. Alot. If I could have one "junk food" for the rest of my life, that would be it. The husband and I waited for some time to try Tony and Ann's, due to the massive lines and odd schedule. The pizza was good. Not great. I usually do not like sweet sauce, but this was just right. My one complaint is that the crust is SO doughy. I prefer crispy pizza, and all the cheese slid right off the soft and doughy crust. I was a little worried when we got the pizzas because they are so small- well I had two pieces and actually felt a little nauseous after because they were just so filling. Glad I tried it, but probably would not go there again. My favorite remains Dracut House of Pizza. read more

After hearing all the hype about this place from friends and how popular it was I figured to had to give it a shot. I had a slow Friday night and was expecting a very long wait based on the reviews. Phone was picked up fast and my 1/2cheese 1/2pepperoni would be ready in 30 minutes. Not bad at all. Living at least 20 minutes away I left right away. When I got there it wasn't busy at all. Either the hype was dying down or it's not the same as it once was. There was plenty of parking and I walked right up to get my pizza. Staff was friendly. No lines at all. Got it home and when I saw the amount of sauce I knew my wife would not like it. Lots of sauce and lots of grease whice neither of use really like. After my first bite I thought it was way to sweet for me. I like sweet sauces but this was over the top. My wife didn't even finish her slice as it was just too much sauce and way to sweet for her. I only ate 1 slice and half of another just because I was hungry. We ended up ordering takeout from somewhere else instead that night. I do think this is a love it or hate it place. If you like very sweet sauce, then you will probably love Tony and Ann's. I'll stick to my local pizza places around here instead of going back here. read more

I don't hate it, but I don't love it. I live in Dracut, so when they made this announcement that Tony and Ann's was coming back there was crazy excitment. I am not from the Merrimack area, I am a transplant...so I wasn't as excited. My friends faithfully waited for pizza on opening day, and waited HOURS. We were trying to give it some time to slow down before we tried it. The pizza itself reminded me of beach pizza, but you are in Dracut...not by the beach. It isn't the worst pizza I have ever had, and in fact it seems like a "treat" for some nights as it is VERY Sugary and I think if I got it all the time I would get sick of it FAST. The opening kinda turned me off from going. Their lack of customer service seems astonishing to me that people were still going out in droves. I heard so many stories of people waiting for hours only to be told they would have to wait longer. Is it me...or doesn't a pizza take 15 minutes to cook? I didn't have the patience to deal, but then again I did not grow up with it so I feel like an outsider when I ate this "wonderfulness" where all I saw was hours for a pizza. read more

Okay you either love it or hate and I loooooooooove it. May I suggest extra sauce and tell them to take it easy on the cheese. Took me awhile to figure out what I like best. Excellent pizza and great subs. No cold cuts here though folks. Some cons. Location needs some work on the inside. Not enough tables and looks like it was decorated by a kid. Ask for parm cheese or hots and they give you some Kraft and red pepper flakes that look as if they were picked up at the dollar store, but hey I'm just glad they are back after closing for so long. Wish they would move back to the old North Chelmsford location. Owner always post on facebook which is nice as his grandfather in law Tony was a real people person.
