I hit them on 3/14-- not because it was Pi Day, but because I love their pizza and happened to be nearby after my real lunch. So I had a second lunch (two slices from a whole pie that I'll finish another day). -- Pepperoni Pizza: I've come to expect high-quality and that's what I got. Lightly charred crust with a fairly firm base, neither done to an extreme. Unexpected was a bit of sourness to the cheese, which was actually a plus, adding complexity. Robust tomato sauce is there in greater supply than most, and I like that. Pepperoni isn't as thick as Tree House, but it's noticeably thicker than most, and much more flavorful. If there's a weakness to this pizza, it's that the crust is more of a vessel (though a well-cooked one) than flavor provider, but it delivers structure. There's more than enough flavor everywhere else. -- Chocolate Chip Cookie: I always covet them but today I took the plunge. I expected good, but not necessarily great beyond pizza cookie standards. It's fairly thin, very bendy, and very moist, with so much chocolate that I feared it would detract from the dough. Not the case: despite a slight resemblance to supermarket bakery cookies, this dough emphasized butter, not sugar. And a fabulous butter at that (probably brown butter), bringing a darker flavor with nutty hints of caramel. Salt crystals on top are cliché nowadays, but restraint ensured they'd enhance, not distract. The flavor got better with every bite. Excellent cookie that would put many full fledged bakeries to shame. Back to the pizza: If you're not into the tomato, the char, or the lack of seating (2 booths), this place might not be for you. But I'm all for the first two and don't mind gambling on seating, because tailgating is always a worthy last resort for pizza this good. read more

Garlic Breath is fine. I think this style for pizza just isn't for me since I like a thicker crust that isn't charred. I've gotten pizza from here twice and both times the crust was overdone, even burnt in some spots. I ordered via the Toast app and there is the option to ask for a lighter bake which I wish I had done. Both times I ordered a pizza with pepperoni and mushroom with garlic bread crust which was about $30 after tax and tip. The pizza is large but still on the pricey side. The garlic bread crust seemed like it was just garlic powder seasoning so it doesn't add much flavor. However I appreciate that they are generous with the toppings and aside from the crust, everything else was good. The location is a pain to get in and out of because the parking lot is small and it's located on a busy spot on 114 next to Stop and Shop. read more

Like many others I bet, I heard about this place thru social media/word of mouth. As someone fairly well traveled and spent many years in Boston, been to NYC many times...even New Haven a few, I find most suburban pizza sub-standard. Solid 4.5 pizza, and to me, that's basically 5 stars because I respect pizza and I think 5's shouldn't just be thrown around willy nilly. The crust is supportive but not overdone. It's a little charred, but not so much you question it unless you're a pizza-wimp. The pepperoni and sauce MAKE THE PIZZA what it is. The taste is a little spicy or savory-it may be the only pizza I don't add ground pepper too. If I had to explain it to a stranger it reminds me a little bit of Romano's (Methuen and Salem) and Regina. It's obviously a bit garlic-y more than normal pizza...which I am all about. Now with all that said, the crust on my pizza was such that I didn't eat the very end...perhaps because of the char...but the rest of it was very good. Oh and service was very good. The crust is perfect crisp, the sauce is slightly tangy and sweet, and the pepperoni is addictive. The hot honey and garlic bread crust are really the cherry on top of an already good pizza, but beware that this makes for one greasy pie! My only complaint is that I wish the interior of the restaurant were a bit more accommodating for guests.. it's clear that most of their business is takeout only. The fire Marshal Bill Pizza is quite good. Best take out pizza in the area that we have tried. Worth driving 20 minutes for. No real seating in the restaurant but not an issue since take out and all. Grabbed a large half cheese/half mushroom pizza and two cookies to go. Pizza was excellent. The mushrooms are fresh mushrooms but roasted before cooking on the pizza-they were so good! I'm not a fan of fresh(uncooked) mushrooms or canned on pizza, so I was very pleased that these were roasted to perfection! We drove from Garlic Breath to Burlington and the pizza was still somewhat hot and in good shape after the drive. When we got back to the house my mother in law said "I'm going to skip the pizza, I'm not that hungry" but I told her we bought her a chocolate chip cookie and she could try it and save it for later. She ate the whole thing and said it was delicious! Service was friendly and quick! It's a very small place with only a couple of booths but decorated 80's style. Passed this place a number of times till I ordered and found this tucked in the back of a long circuitous drive and strip mall. Super crowded and parking is limited but not too bad. The crust is thin NY style with garlic baked in and the sauce is sweet and perfect. Had the pepperoni that comes completely full of meat and cheese, had to try a sausage with onions and peppers, and the cheese is a classic on their red sauce. Good NY style pizza - for me a 4 star rating means that its worth a trip to visit this place. (5 is reserved for best in class anywhere and 3 means good local pizza but not worth a drive). There's an interesting video on YouTube where the owner explains how they decided to run the business and some of the choices and tradeoffs that he made to get the business going. He seems to be really sharp about taking a focused approach to running the business. I'm going to compare Garlic Breath pizza to Joanie's in Chelmsford. Garlic Breath is as good as Joanie's, but different. Both have crisp crusts and good sauce and cheese. However, I like the crust a little better on Joanie's because their crust can have large blisters and char. Whereas Garlic Breath doesn't go that far with their crust because they determined that their local customers don't want the blisters and char. I would say that Joanie's is closer to Pepe's style of crust due to the blisters and char. Whereas as Garlic Breath is like NY pizza and to some extent like Sally's because it's crisp, but doesn't have the blisters and char. I always taste test with a sausage pizza and Garlic Breath has chunks of homemade sausage scattered across the pie, whereas Joanie's crumbles the sausage to uniformly cover the pizza. I prefer the sausage on Garlic Breath. Finally, Joanie's is easier to get to because it's close to the highway exit whereas Garlic Breath is a bit of a drive to get to North Andover. However, Garlic Breath seems to have more capacity to produce pizza. I called them at 5PM on a weeknight and they could have my pizza ready in 15 minutes. Whereas Joanie's seems to be more difficult to get with longer waits and selling out of dough. Overall, Garlic Breath is great pizza and I will go there again - when I'm in the general area. read more

This little pizza shop offers NY style thin crust pizzas by the whole pie (18") or slice, plus gluten free pizza (12"), meatballs, and cold drinks in the cooler. I took a quick break and stopped by Garlic Breath Pizza recently and picked up a slice of Cheese Pizza ($3.75 with tax), which was reheated in the pizza oven. I enjoyed my hot pizza slice here. The slice had a thin crispy crust with a bit of soft moist dough topped with a slightly salty red sauce and browned melted cheese. A Hidden Gem We were coming back from Canobie Lake and were looking to grab a quick bite. We had heard good things about Garlic Breath and figured why not give it a try. Unassuming and tucked away in a strip mall, you might not give it a second look. We got there a bit late and they were shutting down. However, my wife and I with two kids in tow must have looked hungry. Showing that there is still some legit kindness in the world, the staff member said "Sorry we're shutting down. But we have some slices left and you can have them on us. We'll heat them up for you." Well, we couldn't turn that offer down and loaded up on some drinks and grabbed a seat. The smell was heavenly. There just isn't much better than the smell coming out of a busy pizza oven! The pizza slices came out piping hot and looking perfect. A combination of a few cheese and a few pepperoni. The crust was perfect. Crunchy but with a good amount of "give". The sauce had enough zip without overpowering. The cheese was cooked perfectly and add some nice saltiness. My daughter said it was the best pizza she had ever had. I'd say it was right up there. You don't need a big menu when you do pizza darn near perfect. Keep it up guys! My friend who is a NY native said this is the closest to true NY style pizza she's had since she moved to MA. She was truly so happy and so was I! We walked in and were able to immediately order our pizzas. We were told it would only be 10 minutes and it was exactly that! We both got a half pepperoni w hot honey and cheese.
