The service was good. A touch slow on drinks and I think our server forgot to put in one of our meals...it came out quite a while after the rest of the dishes. She was such a sweetheart though and they squeezed us in when they were really busy, so I couldn't dock a star for that because everything else was amazing. The drinks were delicious. The FOOD! Oh my gosh, it was all SO GOOD! Calamari, steak tips, chicken, eggplant lasagna, gyro and baked scallops were all winners. The scallops though! I could go on and on about how wonderful the food was. Everything about Kelari brings me back home in Greece, where I was born and raised. The hospitality (philoxenia), the food, the service and the vibe, are as Greek as it gets. A place to decompress, and have an amazing dining experience, every time. The owners take pride of their restaurant and it shows in every detail. This was our first, much anticipated visit to Kelari Taverna, and it most definitely did not disappoint! To start with, the service was incredible, from the very sweet, friendly hostess, to our patient, helpful, excellent server. We ordered a few appetizers, the grilled Octopus, which is served with fava spread (?)- dad said it was perfectly cooked and tender. We had the hand cut fries with feta- SO GOOD!! There is nothing like fresh French fries! We also had the Spinach Pie- Spanakopita, which was authentic, and fresh!! Before I forget to mention- the fresh bread comes with homemade olive tapenade. Fabulous!! For our meals, two of us both got the Pork Gyro plates. They were HUGE! So tasty, and delicious, served with hand cut French fries, pita bread, tomato and onion slices, and fresh tzatziki sauce. We have enough for a few meals! The restaurant the beautiful. I had an absolutely amazing experience at Kelari. Saturday Evenings are definitely busy but we didn't need to wait at all because they take reservations We were taken care of all night by the wonderful staff- who truly embody Greek hospitality. The menu was huge but we ended up trying quite a few appetizers and sharing with the entire table. Towards the end of the meal we ordered the lamb lollipops and ended up reordering them 2 x over. These were so delicious and probably the highlight of the night. That being said nothing missed that night, every single bite we had was thoughtfully prepared and was so exciting that I forgot to pictures of the food. The octopus was perfectly charred and tender. We had fried cheese dishes which were amazing as well. The spicy feta dip is also really good- not spicy at all! Pita was fresh. The margaritas pizza had these huge tomatoes that were full of flavor and the crust of the pizza was crispy. We managed to snag a table outside on the patio and it was very pleasant all evening. Super cozy vibe with beautiful lights that definitely added to the ambiance. I can't wait to come back here! read more

Havent been for a while, so met Ethel here for dinner one night recently. PRO- Our waiter was excellent. Very professional & nice at the same time. Nice drink menu. We got an excellent mussels appetizer. I ate way too much of the good bread sopping up that sauce. I got the lamb tips over lemon potatoes. Both were great, took 1/2 home for a tasty lunch the next day. Ethel ordered her fav, the beef orzo dish, same as she got last time. Said she had loved it then & she loved it now. My wife and I have hit up Kelari a couple times looking for something new and different. The restaurant has a great vibe and the food and service have been amazing! The servers are very attentive and friendly. We have tried the grape leaves, lamb souvla, the souvlaki plate, and pizza and calzone's. All were excellent! We planned and picked up a full selection from Kelari for our rehearsal dinner. Our guests loved each and every item but especially the pesto pasta with shrimp, pastitsio, and spanakopita. The tzatziki is remarkable! Truly, everything went together so well and we had both vegan, veg, and gluten free options that all tasted wonderful, no compromises! Even for our guests unfamiliar with Greek cuisine, this was a home run. Anna even went out of her way to make custom signage for our event. We found this restaurant on Yelp and decided to make the drive from Sunapee to check it out. Man am I glad we did. First off, it is the cutest restaurant / tavern. Beautifully decorated with ivy along the ceiling and bar. They have a great wine list that includes Greek and Italian wines. I started with a Greek white, and my husband had a Greek red. We ordered the dip trio and I couldn't even choose which one was my favorite, because they were all fantastic. My husband had the lamb souvla which he said was perfectly cooked and delicious. I had the mousakas and it was next level amazing. I'm so full, but I couldn't stop eating because it was so delicious. The portions are big and I'm excited for my leftovers! Service is excellent! Been here a few times. Food and service was good. Tried to get a table for two at 5:15 on Sat night. Hostess said we would have to wait 45+ minutes even though there were multiple open tables because they had "a few 6:00 reservations". There were already tables of people dining in who had started their meals. Never have I heard of a restaurant holding 5+ tables for 45 minutes due to a reservation. read more

"Greek Tragedy on a Plate" As a Greek, I was cautiously optimistic about trying this place, but let me tell you--if Socrates were alive, he'd down hemlock voluntarily after eating here. The tzatziki and dips decent. It's hard to mess up yogurt, garlic, and cucumbers etc, so congrats, I guess. The spanakopita? Decent, but not enough to save the meal. The $88 meat plate arrived looking like it had been to Hades and back--overcooked, dry, and as authentic as a toga party at a frat house. And don't even get me started on the "roasted potatoes." Spoiler alert: they were French fries. French fries! Did anyone tell them this isn't a diner? And where were the desserts? No galaktoboureko? No proper sweets at all? What kind of "Greek" place doesn't have the crown jewel of desserts? Service was pleasant, but slower than a Greek Easter spit-roast, and trust me, you'll need a Spartan's patience to survive the wait. Save your money and your taste buds. But you do you! If you're Greek, or even Greek-adjacent, this place will break your heart. If my Yaiyai were alive, she would have called me a Malaka. Suffice to say I won't be returning. read more

Food and service is exceptional i go to Kelari's frequently and have always had a delicious meal, waited on by friendly and courteous servers who are always helpful and pleasant. I am a member of the frequent customer plan, earning points on each meal, which is a total bonus and incentive to attend this restaurant frequently. I just got back from there and will be dining there again on this coming Thursday, bringing a small group of 9 people Total. Everyone i have brought to Kelari's has only positive feedback and complimentary responses to how their food was. I have enjoyed every one of my many meals I have had there. Our first time visiting this wonderful Greek Restaurant , the decor was absolutely beautifully done , brought you into a vineyard in Greece, with large screen of continuous photos of the Greek country side,,, There menu has a nice variety of yummy Greek specialties, we stopped in at lunch and there is an assortment of luncheon dishes, my friend had the grilled chicken wrap loaded with chicken, tomatoes and lettuce, packed full, w/ side order of homemade French fries, large enough to bring half home! I had the souvlaki chicken with pita and side of fresh tomatoes, plus fries,,, friendly service and the owner greeted us at the bar explained they just opened a few months ago.... We'd driven by on several occasions and noticed that the parking lot was almost always full, so we decided to give it a try. Our only disappointment was that we hadn't gone sooner. The interior was a great mix of tables and a lively bar. The service was great even though it really got busy. Greek dining is back in Pelham! Kelari Taverna & Bar opened for business on New Year's Eve 2023 in the former Ya Mas Taverna, which moved to the Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem over the summer of 2023. The new owners have done a fantastic job of renovating this cozy Greek restaurant and bar which has a modern atmosphere with plenty of vines & hanging ornamental lights in the ceiling, art painted walls, framed pictures, and decor, much more toned down than before (check out Ya Mas at the mall for over the top decor).  The food menu offers Greek dishes, appetizers, salads, pizzas (10" & 16"), calzones, and Italian pasta dishes. They also have a beer, wine, and drinks menu. The prices are moderate here, but still generally lower than Ya Mas in Salem. The dining area has tables, booths and seating up at the bar, which looks neat and tidy with the shelving of glasses, bottles, plants, decor, and flatscreen TVs.   I stopped by for dinner at Kelari recently on a typical weeknight, and it wasn't too busy like on their grand opening night. I was promptly seated at a table and given menus. I had previously looked at the menu on their Facebook before heading here and knew what I wanted. I ordered the Moussaka ($24 plus tax) and a Large 16" Mediterranean Chicken Pizza ($17 plus tax). I was given ice water and a complementary basket of bread and olive dipping paste. The bread was very dense and crumbly. The Moussaka arrived first, a nicely presented large piece which had layers of ground beef, potatoes, eggplant, red sauce, and thick layer of creamy bechemel on top. This Moussaka was very filling and heavy to eat. Next, the server dropped off a Small 10" Cheese Pizza which I did not order, so they quickly took it back. My Large 16" Mediterranean Chicken Pizza arrived 6 minutes later as I was barely finishing the moussaka. This white pizza was loaded with sun-dried tomatoes, onions, feta cheese, garlic, mozzarella and drizzled with tzatziki sauce on top of thin crust, light, firm and crisp on the outside. I definitely needed a box for most of the pizza, which could feed 3-4 people. I requested the check, which was $44.48 with tax and before tip. There was also a QR code on the check to scan and pay online through Toast. The server seemed busy as more diners were seated around my table, so I opted to pay online, quick and easy. The server looked surprised as they were prepared to take the check and payment back to the register, but I was just about done completing the transaction.  Overall, the food I ordered definitely exceeded my expectations. The food was prepared nicely and I have almost a whole pizza to enjoy over the next few days. The service was good and had a minor hiccup, but otherwise I had an enjoyable dinner. One of the owners actually stopped by each table to say hello. I will probably try a pasta dish next time I stop in for dinner. read more

When we finally put our order in it took forever. He did to his credit offer us more wine on the house, which we passed on before he disappeared again. Waited and waited to finally get the bill. The food was good but my mousakas was lukewarm and my wife's chicken souvla had a hair in it. At that point we just sucked it up and ate it. Went there with my date I love how they have a full menu after 10pm. Most places close kitchen around that time. We stayed until midnight chatting and eating the night away. Love the well decorated area. I feel as if I'm in Greece. Authentic Greek food and authentic Greek people. Must go! Bring your fam or date here, they'll make you feel at home. My wife and I went to Kelari taverna yesterday evening for the first time. Will definitely be going back! The staff figured out that it was our first visit there and said they were going to make it memorable and they succeeded. I enjoyed the traditional lamb shank my wife enjoyed the chicken souvlaki. Appetizer was pita and various dips. Food was delivered hot and tasty and with a smile. Service was excellent. Ross was the server and he actually said to ask for him the next time we go. My wife enjoyed a cocktail, which was very well-made while I enjoyed a nice glass of Greek wine. Baklava and espresso for dessert!
