This is the only time I've felt compelled to write a review…read more I've been dealing with knee pain for years and was honestly getting close to going through with a full knee replacement. I didn't think anything could really turn things around at this point, but after starting treatment with Dr. Cohen, I'm finally seeing real improvement. Not only is he a skilled doctor, he's genuinely a good man. He treats you with respect, takes the time to listen, and you can feel that same level of care from his entire team. His technicians and staff are professional , kind, and make the whole experience as comfortable as possible. Let's be honest, getting knee injections isn't exactly something you look forward to, but every time I leave, I'm walking easier and feeling better. That says everything. He's helped me more than I expected, and I'm truly grateful. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Cohen to anyone dealing with knee pain or arthritis conditions. Brett P.

Dr. Cohen has played a crucial and essential role in managing my daughter's various health challenges, and his knowledge of and affiliation with other medical professionals has been a bonus in keeping her as well as possible. There are few doctors who are as willing to make themselves personally available for consultation beyond the practice's regular business hours. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Cohen. He is the standard by which all physicians should be measured.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Takeda for a specific medication-related concern while my…read moreregular physician was out of the country. During the visit, it became clear that Dr. Takeda was unable or unwilling to help with my medication, which ultimately made the appointment unproductive for the issue I was seeking help with due to my pcp being gone for 4 weeks. What I found frustrating was that this was not communicated before the appointment or at the beginning of the appointment. Had I known that the medication could not be addressed during the visit, I could have explored other options sooner. I was later informed that other providers within the practice may have been able to assist, but this information was not provided until after significant discussion. The office staff was courteous and professional throughout the process. My concern is with the coordination of care and communication regarding medication when a primary physician is unavailable for 4 weeks. Patients should have clear guidance about available options and continuity of care, especially when appointments are scheduled for a specific purpose and half of the providers are only working 3 days a week.

It's refreshing to find a doctor who not only knows what he's doing, but also takes the time to care about his patients and help them through the entire process. Another downside, for me, is that when they order any kind of test, the order has an expiration date in a week or two. I'm a senior, don't drive, and suffer from fibromyalgia with severe fatigue. All the orders from my independent drs are good for 6-12 mos! I'm guessing that large medical corporations serve a wider variety of clients, often across the entire country, so some are unreliable and do things without discussing with their drs, ergo the corporate CYA policies. Ok, but that's not me, and the independent drs I've always seen know that. Computers do not. I'm now 65 and the doctors I was with for 25+ years straight are retiring sadly. Or going "concierge" style. I got a phone message saying that my dr won't be in the day my next appt is set after all. AGAIN!! ! Each time it's ANOTHER 3-4 months before they can fit me in. Because of my fatigue added to being a lifelong "night owl", I can only do afternoon appts. I can't get to sleep until at least 3 am most nights. I also had to change my phone's "do not disturb" settings because UCLA calls at 7 am. All my life I have been taught it's rude to call others at home before 9 am. So I never get to talk to the office or person that called, since when I call back it's routed to that call center. Extremely impersonal. No one there has ANY medical training, not even receptionist level, all they do is look for open spaces on a computer screen. No empathy, and zero offers of any other way to schedule an appointment or ask a question- you have to push for any of that. When I use the app, I can interact directly with my dr's office, but it's still a series of steps from who reads my message, to a nurse or other medical assistant, to the dr, then back to me. This leads to very poor information sharing. I prefer a much more individualized approach.

He did suggest a colonoscopy, but frankly, I wouldn't trust him to do one for the following reasons. 1) He couldn't suggest a new probiotic for me. Shouldn't a GI doctor be able to make this suggestion? Isn't this GI-101? 2) He simply told me to take Miralax (an OTC is the BEST you can suggest?) and said it was so safe, they give it to children. It's actually NOT approved by the FDA for children under 17. How does he not know this? It's also not a universally accepted off-label use. This is nothing new. I also told him I'm trying to get pregnant, and it's filled with hormone disruptors. He should know this. He doesn't. He didn't even seem to know what PEGS are. 3) I found him so cold (I don't know why other reviews said he had a good bedside manner); if something were really wrong, I wouldn't want to deal with him. That said, the staff was super nice, but if you want a doctor who is really up on the latest research, I wouldn't go with him.
