Just like the last few posts mentioned, Tony's ex worker swindled him out of his old shop. He saw tony struggling with helping his sick wife, came to his house and told him he needed to take some time off while he took over the business. Few weeks later he fired tony once he came back. Went to the old shop and just like always they kept saying tony had gone back on vacation until we all found out what had happened. But Tony's loyal customer helped him open up a new shop across the street. 2302 s Bristol. Came today to support Tony and bang, three OG loyal customers inside. I came to this place by accident trying to find a parking space that is not crowded. So walked in and they told me to wait. They were quick with cutting hair and very efficient. When it was my turn I told the barber I want cut number 3 from the wall poster. He dug in and like a pro finished it with great style. I got plenty of compliments for my hair cut. The place is a hidden gem , this will be my barbershop from now on. The other customers were satisfied too based from their interaction and happy faces when they walked out of the shop. My father drove me every month or so in his beat up pick up Toyota truck to get our hair trimmed by Tony. Not sure how we were referred, but we're Vietnamese so it was easy to get along. I've come to Tony since I was in elementary school and that's over 20 years ago. He used to work at a location off McFadden St. near Rite Aid, but he decided to open up his own shop at this spot. It's located off Bristol and Warner behind 99 cents store and Home Town Buffet. It's not the best space, but people around here knows where the barber shop is located. Prices are $8 and extra for other types. You can't really beat their prices for a quick cut in Santa Ana. Rules for going to a barber shop: #1 find someone you like and always go back to them, because otherwise some other barber is going to make you look like a clown. #2 don't go during rush hours:3 to 5PM and weekends. You'll be waiting for an hour for a family of 4 to cut their hair. #3 Keep your requests simple and know your buzz numbers. These Vietnamese guys aren't Saloon quality barbers. Keep your conversation friendly,short, and simple. Try not to get offended if they all start gossiping in Vietnamese. It's what they do. read more

Tried this place out today. First time. Did my homework and thought it was good. Walk in and a whole bunch of older guys waiting to cut your hair. Thought, ahh this place is old school. Barber shop of only guys. Well, they barely, I mean barely spoke English. After 10min sitting in the chair, the guy says "Done". Oh and BTW, they don't use blow dryers. They use paint brushes to get your neck and face. And I kind of thought that was weird. Not asking me any questions. Probably cause his English wasn't so good. Well, my hair has mixed lengths. Need to clean it up. Pretty uneven. You want to get 2 haircuts, feel free to get a mess of a cut here. Then go somewhere else to fix it. read more

I live across the street from Tony's barbershop, I thought a give it a try , I went to this place and I had a bad experience. They have no customer service, they don't stop talking in their language the whole time which I thought was very rude,. The older gentleman who help me cut my hair shorter in one side. I am so disappointed . They are no profesional. $8 is not worth it . I'd rather pay more but have a good job done. read more

Hair was getting out of control needed a haircut bad..... tried this place per the previous review... not bad cost $6 cant complain fades are priced at $8 bucks..... no customers it was around 2pm, the barber was pretty friendly the place was kept clean but it was bland not to many pics, walls were white they didn't have any TVs that I saw and it was located behind the 99cent store's receiving dock next to a bar named Las Vegas.... NO STARS.... WORST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER GOTTEN. I just wanted a regular fade and nothing on top. Sat down on the chair and the fellow starts cutting my hair. Stops and leaves for 5 mins while I wonder where he went. He returns and starts cutting my hair again, as he's trying to move my ear I notice his hands are wet and I'm guessing he went to the bathroom. Very disgusting to say the least, no one wants someone's wet hands over them. He continues to try to finish up the cut and starts trying to snip the top of my hair which I asked him not to cut. I had to jerk my head to the left in order for him to stop until he finally noticed it was trying to dodge him. He shows me the mirror to view his "finished product" and you can see he left me a bald spot and you can still tell the lines of his initial cut which he didn't fade. I paid the man and he was expecting a tip but I just left upset and pissed. Looked up the nearest barbershop and found Faded Barbershop across the street. Called and was in a chair in less then 5 minutes to fix what Tony's Barbershop had done. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN TO TONYS SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND GO ACROSS THE STREET. read more

Ohh boy!! Where do I start! I have been here 3 times and I everytime I have left more amazed on how bad of a haircut. Most of the guys here don't know how to cut hair and when you try to explain they interrupt you, they say "I know I know" but obviously they don't. I'm not the type of guy to complain about a haircut but this place is the worst! They have no skill in cutting hair and will leave you with a worst hairstyle than you came in with. They finish by saying "wow! Better!" Lets get this straight I'm not a barber but I'm not blind neither. I'm done with this place and urge anybody of thinking twice on coming here. Cheap and relatively clean. Great if all you need is a fade or if they can cut your hair with a buzzer and blade. Not what I would recommend for people who need to have your hair cut w/ scissors. I get a #2 on the sides, but figurelength/ scissors up top. Would have been fine if I wanted a quick touch up, but not if you have let it grow out for a while Where you sit informally designates who cuts your hair. So if you are in a rush, sit where no one else is sitting and the guy across from you will cut your hair. read more

I have been getting fresh fades from Tony since I was in high school. Its a hidden gem located behind the hometown buffet. The shop is unexpectedly spacious and always kept clean and with plenty of current car&driver and sports magazines. In my opinion the 1st three chairs are the best Barbers. The whole crew Is Vietnamese, but communication is not a problem. The pricing is awesome. I truly recommend this place. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. First and last time I step into this place. I asked for a pretty simple cut. I walked out looking like a complete idiot. WATCH OUT with the old man that sits way in the back. First off the language barrier is dangerous. This man jacked up my side burns and completely wrecked my beard. I told the old man don't touch my beard, and that's the first thing he did. This place has $8 haircuts so don't expect a fresh cut. I got home I did the best I could do to my hair. Had to cut my beard completely. Now I know why so many people cut their own hair, because of places like this. If you are thinking about coming here do yourselves a favor, don't step foot into this place and invest in a clipper and learn how to cut you're own hair. read more
