Had to let him know a couple times that the fade in the back wasn't good. So he kept going higher on the neck revealing lighter skin. The fade could be more crisp. It says 15.00 hair cut. But at the end he says 23.00. Won't be back. read more

I've been coming here for several years and I've seen a lot of changes, in everything - barbers, prices, and the shop itself. I've gotten haircuts by multiple barbers that have since left. However, the current staff seems to be now regulars. My hair is pretty straight and on the thinner side, never have issue with haircuts, besides the consistency of my fades when I ask for the same thing 90% of the time. Prices have increased dramatically, I believe twice in the past year alone. It's deceiving with the dollar amount that is posted outside on the big signage above the shop too! But as a regular I knew that price wasn't technically correct. (Might be Kids Price) Haircuts use to cost 17 or 18 when I started going, then increased to 22 just last year, now increasing again. I get inflation, but they don't do much out of the regular. Except my barber Rick. He seems to take his time, and is nice. Past few visits he has had a wait, where the others have no clients. I try to catch Rick at opening or mid-afternoon's where he isn't too busy and doesn't rush. Fades can be inconsistent but not too bad, but he takes a blade to clean up the lines, etc. Which is nice because the others in the shop don't. Also he uses the air hose more often then the others too. I once got a haircut by the long time barber there and he never cleaned me up ever. I had so much hair on my face and ears, looked like an unfinished lawn :)) Rick takes his time and if not too busy even takes a massager to your shoulders once your cut is complete. They prefer cash payment/tips. They recently upgraded their card payment device, however it's been couple months and times I've tried to pay card they said it was "broken" ? I highly doubt that, but have cash in hand just in case. Overall an okay barbershop, but if not for Rick I'd be elsewhere . read more

Arguably one of the worst hair cuts I've gotten. I asked for a mid fade on the sides which was half decent, but I only asked for an inch off the top and he decided that meant I want everything off. Barber smelt like fresh cigarettes and their website claims they accept card but the moment you walk in there's 3 cash only signs. Will never find myself in their chair again. read more

Only reason I went here was because of Nina. She would have lines of guys waiting for her while the other barbers had empty chairs. Her attention to detail, styling advice, and perfect fade was worth the wait. Kenny spent half his time fixing the haircuts he gave out the day before. I am disappointed to have to write this review because I used to attend this shop monthly for haircuts from Nina. However, the current shop owner (Kenny) has some sort of vendetta against Nina and fired her from the shop for baseless claims that she wanted a ridiculous commission. I find this event to be odd because Nina, is very humble, friendly, hardworking and is likely the best barber in OC. If you have ever visited Adams Barber Shop, you would see 1 or 2 barbers sitting around with no customers while 6 to 8 people waited hours to get a haircut from Nina. I speculate that Nina brought in 70% of the customers to shop. If you want to find Nina you can find her Instagram account or the address of her new spot in some of the other reviews. Needless to say, Kenny made a serious mistake. I suspect that if Nina was your barber like she was mine, you will follow her to the new spot. Either way, I wish Kenny and Adams Barber Shop luck because you're going to need it without Nina. P.S. Kenny is better at making balloon animals, (he did several times for my kids) than he is at giving haircuts. Took both my father in law and my husband here and both were happy campers! My husband has been going to a salon for years and paying $40 a cut! Thank God she went on vacation and he had to come here by default. He was kicking and screaming but he went.
