This is what happens when you have children answering the phones and taking the orders . You ask them to repeat the order bc they were laughing while taking your order and they wrote it incorrectly and you repeated to change the order and then they did what they wanted . Even though the order had to be resent , stomachs were churning and people were hungry an hour ago. This is an easy fix, have an adult answer the phone! You know this isn't the this time the owner had to waste his time and money remaking orders and in these times, food is very expensive for owners and passed on to us . The restaurant is way off in the corner in a shopping plaza-you'll miss it if you're not careful. Immediately after walking in, my family and I smelled delicious food. My husband ordered meatball Stromboli, my son got a cheesesteak sandwich and I got chicken and broccoli fettuccine Alfredo. My dish was delicious, except I wished that they topped it with less Alfredo sauce. After I removed some of the sauce it was fine. It would be good if they asked you in advance how much sauce you'd like on your pasta dish...anyway, I sampled some of my son's sandwich and it was delicious. My husband loved his Stromboli. We decided to stop in for dinner after the Summerfest Carnival and we surely weren't disappointed. The kids both got cheese slices that were thin crust and crispy. Truly NY Style. I ordered the Buffalo grilled chicken salad, and my husband ordered the eggplant rollatini. Our dishes were super tasty & fresh. The flavor complimented each other nicely. If you're looking for traditional hand-tossed city style pizza with fresh ingredients, this is the place. None of that pressed dough crap in a pan you find @ most spots in DE. The dough is what makes the difference. Thinner crust, w/ a crisp snap. Their dinners are not what they were a couple yrs ago(portions) but still very tasty. This pizza is nothing special, the crust actually kinda sucks. The toppings were not high-grade or high-quality. The overall taste and flavor were about a seven out of 10. I would not order this pizza again and I would not recommend it to a friend. The delivery time was very fast and less than one hour, and their pricing was average and reasonable. We dined in here today and had the pasta w/meat sauce, Tortellini Sofia Loren, Italian wedding soup, broccoli rabe, and the tiramisu. I can't think of a single thing that we did not like about our meal. The tiramisu is definitely the best I've ever had. The broccoli was young and blanched perfectly and then finished with a quick sauté with sliced garlic. Serving sizes were very generous and neither my spouse or myself were able to finish our meals. This is one of my frequent locally places to go too. Probably my favorite selection of Pizzeria. Tony's is awesome and although I gave him and the staff my sister's name, "Cindy". They always welcome me with the Italian accent, "HelloOo Cindy, it's youuu again!" I can't help but giggle every time. If only they knew, unless they're reading this review. Ooops, sorry. I try to order something different every time, but my usuals are either the cheese steaks with the fixings or stromboli. Love the marinara that comes with it. I convinced my mom to get pizza from Tony's the day after Thanksgiving, since we didn't have leftovers because my aunt hosted this year. I'm ashamed to admit that my parents' go-to pizzeria is the local outpost of Papa John's. When I visit, however, I can usually convince them to branch out and try a mom-and-pop pizzeria. My mom had been to Tony's before for a sit-down meal, but she hadn't had the pizza, so I convinced her to give it a try. We ordered two large pizzas: a plain cheese NY style pie ($11.50) and a grandma pie ($16.95). The grandma pie is similar to a traditional Neapolitan style pie, but the crust is thicker, the toppings are more generously applied, and it has shredded mozzarella in addition to buffalo mozzarella, making for a heavier pie. (This pie seems to be something of a local specialty--another nearby pizzeria also serves it.) Both pies were ready within 15 min. of ordering and were served piping hot, and stayed that way for the short trip back to my parents' house. I'm pleased to report that both pizzas managed to live up to my expectations. The plain cheese pie was significantly larger and more flavorful than the pies served at pizza chains, and had a nice crust:sauce:cheese ratio. The grandma pie was also flavorful and filling, and its flavors and textures melded together in harmony, evoking Neapolitan bliss with an American accent. My only criticism was that the crust was a bit on the soft side--though not nearly as soft as the crust of chain pizza pies. Despite that my mom has trouble distinguishing outstanding from mediocre pizza, my brother and I greatly enjoyed this delicious departure from Papa John's. While Tony's pies are slightly pricey, they're quite worth it in terms of quality. I found it on par (in a good way) with another nearby mom-and-pop pizzeria at which I tried a grandma pie a year ago. If you're in the area and are looking for a non-chain pizzeria, I'd definitely recommend Tony's, and I'd be willing to return, for sure. 4.5 stars. read more

All of their pasta dishes are huge portions and made fresh for each order along with their pizzas. Weather you get a specialty pizza or a regular pizza all of them will be perfectly cooked with a nice hearty crust. Their salads are nice and fresh and if it comes with chicken they give you a huge amount of it on the side, enough for almost 3 salads. Recently we got their crab Alfredo pizza and it's game changing! It's basically like a white cheese pizza with crab dip on top...just immaculate . It's a little pricey for a pizza but worth every penny. We also got wings which are nice and crispy and I always get an extra side of blue cheese because it's the creamiest tastiest blue cheese I've ever had. I've gotten dinner here twice, and both times have been great. I highly recommend the penne vodka, which is SUPER thick and creamy and has big pieces of prosciutto. Then at the end of the call he says "make sure to take care of the driver". Excuse me? (He repeated himself). If I said I have cash here, don't tell me to make sure to take care of the driver. Our trip to Virginia, we yelped and found this local establishment for a quick lunch. The exterior and being located in the strip mall caused me to think twice. But we went in. The decor was a pleasant italian restaurant environment. The staff behind the counter were very friendly and welcoming. You order at the counter and we found a booth. The food came out promptly. My wife and I shared a chicken salad while the kids had spaghetti with meatballs and spaghetti in garlic oil. The spaghetti dishes came with salads as well. All the entree were good portion and overall good. As mentioned in other reviews, it feels like a family-run business so the service was very good. If I stop the way again, would love to try their large assortment of pizzas. They looked good. Real good! read more

Stopped in for dinner with daughter and 2 grandsons. The front room was very warm so we were offered a room in the back and it was pleasant. We requested water with lemon but received bottled water, no lemon. Appetizers were garlic knots and mozzarella sticks. The knots were dry and hard, like they had been sitting for a while. The sticks were unmemorable. I ordered the Special cheesesteak that was supposed to include banana peppers but they were bell. Asked to add crushed cherry or jalapeños but was told they were not available and suggested crushed red pepper. The boys ordered spaghetti and ravioli. My daughter ordered the veggie Stromboli. The adult food was served 5-10 minutes before the kids dinners arrived. Not sure why but we thought the kids food should have been first. Their food should have been quicker to prepare and they are kids! Nonetheless, when the bill arrived, my daughter asked about the surcharge. She was told in a very snarky tone that "there is a big sigh on the door that says we charge more for credit cards". We understand the business need and were happy to pay the fee but the snotty attitude of the waitress throughout the meal and topped off with this final comment convinced us not to return! read more

Very Good Pizza, Got a large Margarita Pizza, which they call Grandmom Pizza, and it was excellent. Good crust, nice cheese distribution, just a little thicc, sub-par flop, but overall a very good pie. Garlic Knots are also top notch. Whenever we try new pizza places we like to get something we know isn't traditional to see if it is good. We got a BBQ Chicken pizza, and it was OK, but not on the same level as the Grandmom. While in the restaurant picking up the pies, the Chicken Bacon & Ranch caught my eye on someones table, and I think that will be the next non-traditional pizza we get because it smelled and looked good. That tomato pie looked excellent too, so I guess we will have to come back multiple times to get it all. Online ordering is also a plus. read more

This is STRICTLY a review of the service, as I went down to Tony's with a group of coworkers...after they had found out I had already eaten. Oh well. Walking in the door with a large group, some places are reluctant to serve because it's peak dinnertime and we are hard to seat. They immediately went ahead and seated us in the private dining area without hesitation. Being young adults, I'll admit, we can be difficult to serve. We changed our orders as often as we change our relationship statuses. Yet the wait staff was patient and got the order mostly right, and the one small mistake they had, they rectified immediately. According to my friends, the food was great, especially for the price. I had pizza fries and they were pretty good. In the end, the owner came out and sat and chatted with us. If I want sold that this Italian food was as authentic as it gets in Delaware, the owner's Italian accent definitely would have ensured my statement rang true. From chatting about the World Cup to discussing our travels, it was a nice touch to the dinner. Given that I'll be in Delaware for a while, I'll definitely drop by for another visit...hopefully on an empty stomach this time around... read more

This place has always been a must go for lunch or to grab a pizza. The food is always fresh and amazing. I have to say this is not just another pizza place like I always though I recently went here for dinner with my dad and the food was amazing and only surpassed by the great service I received. My dad isn't the type to brag about how good his food is butt he would not stop talking about how great his wedding soup and pasta was. I have to say he wasn't lieing it was the best soup I've ever tasted. I got a simple buffalo chicken salad which would beat the socks off any place else your tried. I would encourage you to stop by and enjoy a great low key dinning experience with exceptional food.. Tony's isn't just another pizza joint its the real deal dinning food.
