We have driven past this pizza spot for a decade. Finally decided to drop in over the weekend. Prices are reasonable and the location is convenient. Inside the setup is a little awkward. You come in and you can't see anything but tables. As you wind your way to the back there is a counter with a glass case and cabinets hanging down where the workers are sort of bent over staring at you. It was very strange. Pizza was fine. Crust was pretty thick for my liking but the sauce was good. Might stop in again if we are near it. Their XL pizza is just a normal 16" large. My mother and I went there on December 10th, and got their Wednesday special...steak quesadilla for $9.95. They used the same meat they would use for their cheese steaks. It took a while to arrive at our table but when it arrived it was HOT!!! That scored big points in my book. It was delicious. The Fairfield location is down the street from our house so we order here quite often. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The pizza reminds me of the pizza we'd get growing up in NJ. Good crust, good sauce and they will modify the toppings how ever you like. Pastas are great, too. They're fast and always get the order right. read more

It's July 4th, but Nick & Joe's is still open. I called in my order, a medium Hawaiian pizza (the menu says the ham is imported, I forgot to ask from where), and was told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. I showed up at the specified time and there it was, hot and waiting, only $10.75. For those used to getting cheaper pies, hold on. Nick & Joe's is worth the money. My pie came adorned with numerous pineapple segments, as well as thin sliced ham, my preference over cubes. The cheese was melty and strongly provisioned, and the sauce added flavor and savoriness to the taste. The dough was firm but pliant, soft enough to bite through but with a consistency that helped make each bite feel great. I was pleased with the speed of preparation, the exactness of their creation of my order, and the quality and flavor of the ingredients. The service was fine, perhaps could have been a little prompter but I commend these people simply for showing up today when so many other places are closed. Just ate the barbecue wings and fries from Nick & Joe's--bloody awful! The wings weren't seasoned and the barbecue sauce was terribly bland and just poured on, the fries were soggy and unseasoned, a real waste of time and money. read more

We have been here numerous times. Food is good. Service has always been good. Except for this past time. Our female server was polite and kind. She was excellent. While waiting for our order, this young gentleman working behind the counter started screaming at her asking "what the hell are you doing" then proceeded to throw things because he felt she placed items in the wrong place. I could here every word and was facing their direction. I also was one table away from the front windows. If you have been there , it's quite a distance. He appeared to enjoy humiliating her and not one other employee even glanced up. I own my own business. I would have fired him and given her a raise for putting up with his behavior. I also witnessed him wiping his nose on his forearm and running his hands through his hair all while making pizzas with no gloves on. Not a good day. read more

For the price, Nick & Joe's is pretty good! Got a chicken parm sandwich (6 inches), fries, and an appetizer sampler to split with a friend for about $14. The chicken parm sandwich was delicious! The fries were pretty tasteless, but still appreciated that the sandwich came with a side. I was told the only options for a side were fries or chips, but I wish I had asked for a side salad. The appetizer sampler was alright. It came with tasty mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers. It also came with onion rings, which aren't my favorite in general (but weren't bad), and "breaded mushrooms" which were honestly pretty weird tasting and watery. Wouldn't recommend. As mentioned before, the staff has an attitude problem. Whenever I call for pickup the cashiers always sound utterly annoyed or high. This time there was a huge abundance of staff for a slow night (I'm talking 8 people behind the counter) who were chatting and joking around, but when it came to our food there was something wrong with everything we ordered. I'm giving it 4 stars because this is the best italian food you will find around DE. The pizza and sandwhiches make it my go to Italian place and the prices are fair. We live by this Nick and Joe's and we go here all the time. It's really good, their pizza is always fresh and hot and they have the best fries of anywhere around here. They have a large selection of good food and they also deliver to my house (which most places won't do since I live on the Maryland/Delaware line). Echoing other reviews, specifically the Fairfield shopping center location - food is good but wow, the young lady at the front was beyond rude. I was a pretty loyal customer (maybe 1 order / week, every other week) - might be a while before I return if I do at all. This specific instance was when I ordered online - the bill on my end showed one price, when I got there is was ~10 dollars higher. Not a huge sum of money, but very politely asked the young blonde lady at the counter if she knew how that might of happened - honestly just trying to understand because sometimes I come with only the cash I need - luckily I had my debit card on hand. She was extremely standoffish and rude to me for just inquiring why the difference - as if I was accusing her of stealing or something. It was a really weird escalation of the whole thing and left feeling pretty bad. read more

I usually get delivery. The main delivery person is very friendly and is a big reason why I keep ordering. The salad is a no-go. But why are you ordering here for salad? ITS ALL ABOUT THE PIZZA AND CHEESESTEAKS! I have tried quite a bit from their menu, the price is about right. The food is not awe-inspiring, but it is really good, and ready and delivered quickly. The price is also very cheap compared to what is around. The best option in my opinion is the ability to customize whatever you are ordering. I am a guy that loves sweet peppers, and they will put them on just about anything. Here is the food that I recommend: Pizza- hot, good, satisfying Cheese fries- made with real cheese, layered on the fries, and not some crap cheese in a cup nonsense. Nachos with cheese- (a movie type or ballpark type nachos) Chicken Quesadillas- good BAKED ROLLS!- Get one that sounds good, you'll get hooked Cold Subs- can't really mess these up no matter where you get them from Hot subs- fairly standard subs, but customize options are nice and consistently good Baked specialties are all good and decently priced. (prefer DP dough for calzones though) Wraps-see subs ALL DAY SPECIALS! 5.00 for ANYTHING that can fill you up is CHEAP IN NEWARK! French Fries are a big plus, they are crinkle cut fries. Add some cheese to them in your order and you get something amazing for really cheap. Here is the food to be avoided: Chicken sandwhich- cafeteria style chicken patty... nothing special Appetizers are a bit pricy for the size you get Salads Sissy meals Stuff not tried: Sandwiches Pastas- forks are for chumps My honest review: Food 3/5 (functional, not amazing, not really unique) Service 5/5 (every time best of the best) Loyalty to restaurant 5/5 - because I like hearing the stories from the delivery guy But I give it 5 overall because it deserves far more than a 1... seriously. Absolute terrible customer service, food quality, and unspoken (random) charges appeared on my bill. We ordered from 1 house and had an $8 delivery fee charged to us and then they took the tip after the food bill and random charges so our tip was excessively over what a normal tip would be. We ordered over the phone and said a 20% tip, so we clearly wanted to give a good tip. No one told us about this $8 delivery fee and we spoke to the manager about this and he did absolutely nothing.
