Ordered a Medium Pizza for Pick-up. Did not immediately notice the box wasn't as hot as it should have been. When I got home (around the corner) the pizza was cool, cheese was hard and had already turned from bright to dull yellow. I have never tried Amore pizza but always heard it was the best in DE. Last night I was at Autumn Arch Brewery and decided to place an order for delivery. when I asked The person taking the order if they knew where AAB was she replied "yes", so I did not give an address. 45-60 for delivery. No problem. Over an hour later, the delivery driver calls me telling me he's at 674 Pencader drive and can't find the brewery. I then gave him the address (810 Pencader drive And told him it literally 1/4 mile down the road on the right, just before the light at Pleasant Valley rd. "ok" he says. 10 minutes later he calls back. Tells me he's at 801 Pencader Drive. This goes on and on. Not only did I not get my pizza, I never even saw this guy! I finally Called Amore and cancelled the order and had my card refunded. The girl I spoke to told me they were having a problem with that driver ( no kidding) and were sending another driver to find him. WTF? I drove to Wawa and got something to eat and just fit the fun of I put the address of AAB in my GPS and what do you know? It took me right to 810 Pencader Drive. Maybe it was Door Dash or Uber eats, but come on, screen your people. it can't be that hard. anyway, the experience has made me decide to stick with Amalfi. They have the best pizza anyway. We have been ordering from Amore for over two decades. They have great food and great specials. The meatball pizza is a lot of my friend's favorite pizza. The 2 slice and soda combo is great. $5 for 2 big slices of pizza and a fountain drink is my son's go to. You can't go wrong with the chicken cheesesteak specials $5 for a cheesesteak and my favorite fries. They also carry milk and some other pretty random items that come in handy for me because it saves me a stop when I'm on the way home. read more

Order an Extra Large if you want a large!!! So this place was around the corner, but non of us had an available car to pick it up. With that said, Our Pizza was delivered warm and tasty. Cheesy, which I like. I have no complaints, however I'm not on my way back to DE for some pizza. It was very satisfying. My one issue though is that the pies run small. The large pies are equivalent to your typical medium sized pizza. Which came up to $19 and change. I ordered this as a pre-new year's gathering "snack" in addition to the other food. The cheese steak special is what I usually order and it's always fresh veggies with no gristle in the steak like most places. It's was OK but my girlfriend had the BG's, I mean her butt keep having to go the bathroom. She was just straight dumping yo like she was the queen dumper. I was OK. The food did a little number on me. We had cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza but she must of had a "I gotta let my booty evacuate" Pizza. The pizza was good was fairly hot, but my girlfriend was hot because she keep emptying her booty butt. The dough was a bit to doughy would recommend cooked longer, but not longer than my girlfriend was in the bathroom " She was taking lots of poops". To date have not found any place in Delaware that makes a 'Great' pizza. That being said we've exhausted our search in the Middletown area thought we would try Newark / Bear area.. Reviews for Amore seemed promising so we drove the 30+ minutes for a pie. Ordered half Pepperoni and Half Sausage, Green Pepper, and Mushroom. First look seemed promising though I think could have used just a tad more Pepperoni. Immediately noticed the Sausage, well, looked like "Kibbel and Bits" type. Crust was nice unfortunately was overly cooked on the bottom.. not burnt, but extremely brown. Taste included generous portion of real cheese which was a plus. This came with just he right amount of Sauce. Pepperoni slice was fine, but there is a definite salty taste to the outer crust and the brown bottom influenced the overall taste as well. In regards to the other side if your going to put sausage on a pie use real sausage.. maybe something like a fennel pork sausage. In general the toppings were generous. Wouldn't go out of my way to go there again but if I was local I'd put it in the rotation as it were. read more

This is probably my second favorite pizza place in the area for one simple reason, cheese! They use the best cheese I've tasted in a pizza and it is what has me ordering from there when I get in the mood for that cheese taste. Clearly I am a fan of their cheese, which covers many items on the menu, what about the other factors of a good pizza place? Well all in all their menu is tasty, I just prefer the sauce at Ciaos a little more (heaven if they merged). The customer service is friendly and efficient. Deliveries I have had are on time and accurate. For me it's a toss up between Ciaos and here, but Ciaos usually wins based on I'm usually more of a sauce guy, if your a big cheese lover though, the scales may tip in Amore's favor for you. read more

How hard is it to make a good, no, decent at best, pizza? Really...someone explain it to me. Make a simple crust, put on some toppings and bake...how FREAKING hard is this? I decided on this place, because it was close and supposedly not chain pizza. I had it picked up to save any issues in transport, no such luck. There was so much cheese on it the bottom crust was soggy, so much so I couldn't even put it in the oven to crisp it. Now, I can eat plates of cheese, but this was ridiculous...there was so much cheese, parts of the pizza looked as if the cheese hadn't even melted all the way. Ok. Maybe not the most authentic New York style pizza in Delaware, but truly not bad at all. It's worth asking for extra sauce, though. Easy online ordering, fast delivery, and one cool online feature most stores don't offer -- the ability to request extras like paper plates, utensils, etc. Skip the seafood -- it's frozen, heavily breaded and fried. The subs are small but fresh. Sadly, they only offer one size in their special. With Capriotto and Casapula locations so close, Amore needs to step up the hoagies to compete. The Bear/Red Lion location, in particular, is run by two really cool brothers. A little hard to find, it's worth finding. The owners recently unveiled something new they created called Toasties. Sound like Grinders; could be interesting. We'll try them soon and let you know. read more

When they're good, they're REALLY good! But when they're not, the food is just average. It's surprising that a place that's been open for so long would have a problem with "food taste consistency" but here you go. Everytime I go here I feel like I'm gambling! I have been ordering from Amore for 5 years and have always enjoyed their specials and their delivery service is top notch. my lunch is more ties than not still edible wi1thout micro waving like i have had to do with other eateries around here. they also have a new person by the name of Mickey who works there and she is absolutely the best.
