Who hasn't passed Yong's Wine & Spirits just a step away from Safeway Beretania on one of the busiest corner on Kinau and Piikoi and I thank goodness I haven't given them a visit earlier. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly staff and loved how nice and clean it was, spacious and neatly organized. Here's the place for cravings of all kinds...the variety here is just incredible, though they've been keeping a secret that I just discovered. They have the asian exotic chips that we all have been salty about the bougie lays's and even Oreo! I was in heaven and spent a great amount of time deciding on one...yup one lol! They regularly rent out a stall in the parking lot to a food truck, which changes periodically. If something interesting is making food that day, it's also easy to pickup dinner. For me, I come for the beer selection. They get a variety of 6-packs, 4-packs, cases, and singles from mostly US breweries. I really appreciate their large selection of local breweries, most of which are available in single cans if you'd like to try a few. Prices are competitive with stores selling similar products. The owners have been super friendly and welcoming to me, both on Instagram and in the store. I appreciated having a few free sample cans to try on more than one occasion. Cheers! For a special celebration! Just for fun, I asked the nicely dressed gentleman if he had any Hello Kitty varieties. Note: Longs and Foodland do not carry this brand. I have seen Hello Kitty sake, merlot, chardonnay, etc. elsewhere... He did! We followed him to the refrigerated section - and there she was! It was a pink Sparkling Wine - so cute! We had to get it! The gentleman showed us the Strawberry and Yogurt sochu, but we got the peach flavor. He said that he would get more Hello Kitty tomorrow... The next day, I went to see if he got more Hello Kitty wine... YES! He said, "Same place." There were TWO bottles in the refrigerator! Wow! He is awesome for getting it from the warehouse! Whoa! The lady owner was very nice and her doggie was so cute! I enjoyed browsing both aisle looking and observing the products. I love the Pringle selections, some new flavors I haven't seen/tried before, ( dill pickle, seven layer dip, & all dressed up) There a nice selection of alcoholic beverages and wine. There all lots of can food, snacks, candies, seeds, ramen, paper goods, cleaning supplies, a tiny freezer near the door for some frozen products and many more. For a mini convenience mart store, the price isn't bad, reasonable. I love that they price the merchandise. What I ended up getting was 2 cans of Waterloo brand ginger twist ( $1.39 ?) I never seen them in ginger flavor, 2 cans of High Noon peach tea ( $2.39) ghost pepper chicken noodle soup (3.99) & the last Mina brand wild caught sardine in olive oil ( $2.99) Those items caught my eyes since I've never seen those ever. My total was fifteen dollars and some change, paid via credit card. A plastic bag was provided- don't think she charged for it. Overall, what a quick and convenient store!
