Tony's Pizza City was recommended to me about a month ago by my Aunt. Including today, this is my 3rd visit. Great pizza, espically the pepperoni! Today's order was a large pepperoni, olive and mushroom pie. Great prices, dare I say the best in the area. Quality ingridents, friendly staff and easy parking make this spot a no brainer. I've lived in Chestnut Hill for several years and this is about a 7 min drive from my home. Give it a go, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Horrible service. Horrible phone answering service. Rude employees. Delivery driver that doesn't speak English and waived a phone with a translator still not in English in someone's face and didn't understand what the confusion was. Took the restaurant 34 minutes past delivery time to attempt to call me about not finding the location even though the sign on the building and delivery address matched. I placed a big order for a picnic lunch, with variety of cheesesteaks, hoagies and cheeseburgers, hoping that they would all be pretty good for a group with a lot of specific individual orders. THEY WERE AMAZING! They got all of the orders right.(including turkey bacon on a cheeseburger.) And everything was DELICIOUS. We recently held a 2-year-old birthday party at the Wyndmoor Firehouse down the street from this location. We live across the country so we had never had the food before. We heard from a few different people that it was consistently good. We decided we would give it a shot for our 40 guests. The party was at 3:00 p.m. so we were not looking for lunch or dinner, but instead some easy finger foods. The recommendation was tacos and hoagie slices. We ordered both, and added churros to the order as an additional finger food dessert. We heard from many guests that they really enjoyed all of the food, and the quantity provided by Tony's Pizza City was enough that we were able to leave plenty of leftovers for the local police and first responders. The pricing for all of the different food options we were presented was more than reasonable. We would highly recommend discussing catering options with Luciano if you have a need. read more

Exquisite tacos. We enjoyed the fish, that I appreciated wasn't a saturated fat, battered type. It was light and seasoned deliciously. And the bistec taco with a side of guacamole and pico salsa was savory good! The meat was tender with really good flavor. Two tacos filled us up. I selected this family owned business because of the reviews and frequently seeing a line of people when I drove past so it was a easy decision to try them out. I wanted Buffalo wings and pizza fries but they were all out so I opted for the Buffalo chicken pizza and kept the pizza fries. I have never tried pizza fries before but I figured it would be a delicious choice combining two of my favorite food items. I didn't care for the fries at all. I was expecting them to be cheesy-gooey-ness with pizza sauce and seasoning but that's not exactly what I got. The cheese was firm and the fries were a bit on the dry side. I enjoyed the Buffalo chicken pizza. It had thin crust, good size pieces of chicken breast, and Buffalo sauce. I liked the pizza (just a slice). It was a large slice. I was able to try their Al Pastor (pork) with Pineapple. I would never tried it my own but I was treated to Al Pastor and Pineapple on my plain pizza. I was not mad. The sweet went very well with the crushed peppers I added. I have a soft spot for Tony's Pizza City. Ok, it's not gourmet pizza, it's pizza as they prob made it decades ago. The crust is softer than today's but you can easily fold it up like New York City pizza can be folded and eaten. What I like to do here is get one of their basic red or white pizzas and then take it home and doctor it all up with toppings. Believe me, it tastes very good. Prices are very low at Tony's - even in the highly competitive pizza and sandwich take-out business. But most heartening of all - there is not a friendlier pizza joint in all of Philadelphia. On the phone and in person, everyone is so friendly, it makes you want to patronize Tony's Pizza City again in the near future. We were parking in the area planning to go to another nearby restaurant and a resident recommended that we go to Tony's pizza City if we wanted some amazing tacos. We took the recommendation and boy are we grateful that we did. The service was excellent and welcoming to our small family. The food was super fresh and flavorful. We had the birria tacos and tacos americanos. We also had the guacamole and pico appetizers and everything was so fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back. Last but not least.... This was my first time trying Tony's. I ordered the Al Pastor pizza with extra cheese - there was no cheese detected on the pizza. The Al pastor was very flavorful and the idea of the pizza with the onions pineapple and salsas on the side was what caught my attention but there was way too much dough (for my liking) and it just ended up being mouthfuls of bread. On a thinner crust the other ingredients would stand out much better. I also tried a buffalo chicken cheesesteak which was pretty good - soft roll, seasoned chicken, melty cheese- but there was no buffalo flavor - it tasted like a regular chicken cheesesteak. Came by here towards 10PM after looking on Yelp to see where I can get a hoagie so late (aside from Wawa, which is great, but for me that's more of a 12-2AM spot). The new owner took over last year and he's one of the funniest and seemingly nicest characters I've had the pleasure of ordering from. Great banter, great hoagie, great people. This has been a staple in Wyndmoor! It's been around since I was a youth. It's changed hands but I love their pizza and owner is awesome!
