Delicious! We had high expectations after reading the reviews and were throughly stuffed with great food by the time we left. I got the combo plate (see photo) that had a bit of everything, and my fiancé got the carne asada tacos (not pictured). This has been my number one Mexican place since I first moved to T or C NM... Has the best breakfast in the city and a great chicken burrito among many other items on the menu... I miss Eating inside due the the new normal caused by the virus... Love the people working here and looking forward to the day we can all get back to a better normal.. Service was pretty good. Served within 20 minutes. The food was pretty good. The green chile sauce was thicker and almost creamy. I had huevos rancheros, which is my go-to at a New Mexican restaurant. Theirs was ok, but I like for everything to mingle more than this did. Everything was separate on the plate, which almost made it more like an omelette with green chile sauce than huevos rancheros. I'd go back because it was decent, but it wasn't amazing. read more

Excellent food as well as great service. It is normally tough for me to find gluten,dairy, and corn free options but I was able to find some excellent options here and the staff was happy to make substitutions for me. Plus lovely tasting fresh green chile. Loved it! read more

This was truly awful and I feel guilty writing this because the young woman who waited on us was so nice. But I would feel more guilty not writing this. I have never had worse Mexican food in my life and I am not exaggerating. The Carne Asada was tough and tasteless - no seasoning on it at all. The rice had some kind of horrible after taste which I believe was from the water as the water they served was bad tasting as well. The salsa was mediocre at best and the tacos shells were limp and greasy. I hope you heed this recommendation if you are passing through as 99% of my reviews are positive. The food was good, but not as fantastic as the other yelper would have you believe. I had the carne asada taco salad which has beef, lettuce, cheese, tomato, guacamole, and shit cream in a fried tortilla bowl. I asked for no tomato and had to have them renal it because they put the tomato on it. There was very little beef in the salad. It was mostly lettuce. The flavor was good, just wish there was more of it. The food was lack luster. The chips were store bought and the salsa lacked flavor. Great food and the staff was really good to us. As a group of 12 they got us seated and fed with no problems. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was simply what you find in rural shops frequently, not super comfy chairs, old and lower grade furnishings. Stopped here for lunch while visiting T or C and it did not disappoint! The hubs and I shared the large combo platter with red and green sauces and it was plenty for both of us! We stopped in off I-25 coming back from Cruces to Albuquerque. Mediocre at best.. place was busy, wait staff was not very friendly, had chicken enchiladas smothered in green and red. Green was soupy slop and the red tasted like canned enchilada sauce! Was expecting a lot more being so close to Hatch. Next time we'll continue on and stop in Socorro for a decent New Mexican meal with actual green and red chile. Must be a good place for the locals looking at all the good reviews. If you are used to good New Mexican cuisine I would not bother with a detour off of I-25. read more

Next time I need a restaurant recommendation in a new town I'm checking with a guy at the local hardware. The same gentleman who helped us find parts for our RV's hot water heater and leaky faucet, gave us some tips on where to get a great hamburger in town. One of his recommendations was Tony's...a place I'd skipped over because it was classified as a Mexican eatery...now don't get me wrong, I love me some Mexican food, but I'd ate it the last two days at some great stops in New Mexico, and Husband and I were both hungry for a good burger. So we pulled up to this quaint little hometown place and there it was, A GREAT BURGER and yummy, I think maybe even homemade, fries. The waitresses were quick with smiles and attentive, the place was steady with happy customers and yes, the Mexican entrees looked amazing. So next time, I HAVE to try it...unless I'm in the mood for a good burger. read more

Service was not good as we waited at least half an hour and saw that three groups of anglo locals that arrived after we were seated were greeted warmly and were served while we still waited for for our meal. We visited this town to spend some time and money but after this visit .We will definitely avoid this restaurant as us being a minority we felt the bitter sting of being seen as second class citizen. This place is disgusting. No signs posted outside regarding masks. A guest leaving the establishment wasn't wearing a mask. When I went inside, it was packed. No regard for the health mandate of 25% indoor capacity. Not one staff member was wearing a mask, not even the cooks. There wasn't one mask in sight anywhere. Small family operated restaurant. Great complimentary chips, homemade salsa. I had a Chile relleno, tamale, chicken enchilada rice and beans. All were fresh, tasty, served hot. My husband had a fajita burrito. All servings were very generous. A serving error was made and the dinner we were not charged, we didn't ask for this and the waitress didn't mention it. Subpar. There was no bite to the salsa and half the chips were stale. The red burrito tasted like it was frozen for a week, nuked for twenty minutes then slapped on a plate with no garnish. The waitress was equally terrible despite how mildly busy it was. Most people return a smile, but this one looked at me as if I ran over her prized chihuahua.
