I frequent here every week and sometimes twice. The atmosphere is homey and the food is always hot and fresh at 1PM or 1AM. The service can be sketchy on busy nights and you can be accidentally overlooked in the dining room. In the main bar area smoking is allowed but it is usually packed. Personally, I don't smoke and am not looking to cavort with strangers. If you want to wait the 5-10 minutes, on a prime night, the service and quiet are worth it. Mostly, under staffing for weekends seems to be the problem. I really do love this place for any great American bar food. The wings are fantastic with their (in-house made) ranch and blue cheese. The food is not as decorated as a chain restaurant's might be but everything is good. If you are up for a unpretentious and relaxing bar experience this is the place. read more

A cigar friendly sports bar always gets my attention. I went to Tooey's on the recommendation of the owner of Lou's Smokehouse (an area cigar shop). Tooey's has a very typical Sports Bar menu, wings, burgers, etc. The restaurant area is non-smoking but, the bar is smoke (& Cigar) friendly. The bar area is separated from the main dining room and is very well ventilated so there is not an overly "smokey" smell to the place. Which, to me as a non-cigarette smoker (only cigars) is important. I had a great time watching the MLB All-Star Game, playing bar trivia, having the nightly special ($2 burgers on Tuesday night) a nice beer and a GREAT Perdomo Cigar. 1 star during the day: Between the food and the service, I cannot discern what is worse. My friend and I came here for lunch one Saturday afternoon after golf. The place was entirely empty so we were sat immediately, which got us excited because we thought we'd get in, eat, and get out fairly quick.. NOPE. The entire process took a little over an hour and a half. We sat waiting for 15 for someone to come by for our order, 45 minutes for our chicken tenders and fries, 15 minutes to eat, and another 15 for our check. On top of that, our chicken tenders had an odd, almost spoiled taste to them. The breading was way over-seasoned and the chicken itself was like chewing on pencil erasers-- so dry. 3 stars after dark I give the tap selection 5 stars-- easily has the best and most selections in town. I have to ding it though for two reasons: 1) the bar is a smoking bar, and there's a constant cloud of smoke lingering and making it difficult to breathe. Also, you reek of cigarettes upon leaving-- hair, skin, clothes, you name it. 2) it is definitely a rowdy bar with a lot of people getting sloppy. I've been coming here virtually my entire Lawrenceville life. Once upon a time, this was a Taco Mac. Still has the Taco Mac beer selection. Still have TMI wings (I think corporate Taco Mac calls them something else now). Can get a bit rowdy here on weekend after-hours but it's still home. Great staff. Great beer selection. Dart boards and solid comfort food. Sauced up black and bleu burger (I add bacon) and I recommend adding crumbled bleu cheese to the fried pickle app (just trust me on this one). The local spot that gets me to drive past downtown Lawrenceville. And they're more than happy to serve me my 'gringo fries' (loaded nachos but substitute fries over chips). Honestly can't say anything about the other food but the chicken parm is SO good, the chicken is cooked perfect and can even be cut with the plastic butter knife I get from the pickup order. If you've been to any sports bar, you're not missing much. The food selection is of your everyday sports bar as well; wings, burgers, etc. Even though I didn't try the wings, I did try their chicken fettuccine Alfredo entree and it was very delicious and extremely filling; I honestly could not finish it. The waitresses were nice and courteous as well. The dining area had a pretty decent setup as far as watching TV goes, there was a big screen setup on perpendicularly to the center booths with small TVs set up near the front and at the back. Overall, the food was pretty good and the waitresses were nice. As stated before, it's like any other sports bar you've been to, don't expect any more or less. My husband and went because we had a coupon. The drinks was ok. I am just upset because we ordered the loaded nachos and asked for sourcream in the side and was charged which later they removed from bill. At that we noticed we didn't receive all of our toppings per menu and was charged for them talked to management he said she must have put in order for fajita nachos which was not on the menu or receipt. Let me start by saying I used to love going to Tooeys, they a have the best chef salad I have every had, and the salad dressing awesome. The reason for the review is we went there on a Friday night, sat at a booth all the way in the back. We ordered our food and were drinking our drinks, when my friend started freaking out and pointed to the wood trim on the brick wall. Coming out from under the trim were roaches, not one, not two, not three, not even four, there were a total of five roaches came out at one time. We should it to the waitress and she said she was going to get the manager, we told her we didn't need to speak to the manager and left.. Food wise it's good - my boyfriend and I go solely for the wings and not much else, so we can really only speak for the wings. They're tasty, and the ranch is amazing. In fact, the only thing bringing us back are the wings. With that being said, the biggest downfall is the awful service. I've been during down times, typically only one (if any) other table besides mine. It once took 15 minutes for the server to realize we were even there. When they do finally decide to wait on your table, their visits are few and far between. It's essentially, "What do you want?"..."Here's your food." and that about covers it. The waitresses are not the friendliest - they must be relying on another form of income, because it definitely isn't the tips they get from their lack of service. Last visit was today, when my boyfriend literally had to hunt down our waitress after waiting for 20 minutes for our check and a box. Not a fan. Wish management would take a hint and find some happier servers - not everyone is cut out for the job, and the right person can make or break the dining experience. read more
