If you're looking for true southern Georgia BBQ, then it doesn't get much better than The Black Pig BBQ in Buford Georgia. This BBQ definitely feels like home and you are welcomed by a very kind and generous Georgia native named Bill. He was preparing our meal when we arrived so you know it doesn't get much fresher and higher quality than this. For our first visit we ordered 2 BBQ Brisket and 1 Pulled Pork plate which comes with 2 sides each. What we got for sides: BBQ Baked Beans, Mac and Cheese (very cheesy!), coleslaw, Brunswick stew, collard greens, and potato salad. All fantastic. This is as local and a slice of Americana as it gets and they have a good thing going at The Black Pig BBQ. Wonderful southern hospitality ambiance and cool small town vibes. Very close to Lake Lanier. 5 solid stars and two thumbs up for Bill and his brother who run a fantastic Barbecue roadside restaurant. Highly recommended and thank you! We will be back! read more

Small country restaurant with good eats! WoW!! This place was delicious! The meat was moist and tender however the mac and cheese was the real star! Cheesy and delicious! Mr Bill was a pleasure, I mentioned the raving I've heard of his spot and he responded humbly and in gratitude of the people who helped get him here. Ribs fell off the bone, the coleslaw was just right and the rocking chair about knocked me out afterwards. Felt like I was back home with the sit down area he has. A true old school BBQ joint with an amazing pit master inside. Right off the road, The Black Pig has a wonderful Georgia style BBQ chicken and brisket. Its sauce profiles are more similar to a central Carolina and the consistency is very nice on their pulled pork. Apparently you really do need to get there early. At 6pm on a Saturday he was completely out of food. Bill was very apologetic and told me he would hook me up tomorrow. I called Sunday at 2:30 to place my order and he was out of most items. He suggested the beef tri-tip. I decided to try that. Unfortunately it was nothing like the juicy, tender brisket that we anticipated and it was $36 for 2 sandwiches with the 2 sides each. The beef tri-tip is not juicy and is a little tough. If we try them again we'll probably go during the week. read more

Starting with the service, it was friendly, and fast. We ordered a pulled pork plate with Mac and Cheese, Cole Slaw, and a Beef Brisket Plate with Potato Salad, Baked beans. It's hard to pick a favorite since everything was so good. The mac and cheese is a meal within itself, it was creamy and cheesy, and had bacon slices in it. The BBQ sauce was amazing, next time I'll get an extra, it was that good. There are a few tables to sit at outside, but if you're getting to go, they give you everything you need to enjoy the meal: silverware, sturdy containers, etc. Can't wait to go back and enjoy some more items. Roadside stand BBQ place, that if it only had couple inside seats, would get a 5. Tender brisket and pork, nice sides. Good sauce. Amazing food! We showed up with a group of 25+ people and Chef Bill quickly took all of our orders. I had the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and both were amazing. The pulled pork was smoky and juicy. My group had the baked beans, collared greens, smoked wings, Mac & cheese, and coleslaw and our entire group agreed that everything was delicious. Chef Bill was very nice and friendly. There wasn't enough seating for our group so we had a picnic on the grass and enjoyed the weather. Delicious food! read more
