The wings were a decent size, but he prefers them saucy which they were not. Service was fine. Our server checked on us the appropriate amount of times to see if we needed anything. We were there on a Wednesday and took advantage of their deals which was $1 off draft and $5 off hamburger. Everything was fine, just not amazing...but it is just bar food.

Over several visits, I've noticed that certain security personnel seem to pay an unusual amount of attention to us. At first, I brushed it off. There have been instances where it felt like security was watching us closely and waiting for an opportunity to confront us. I didn't want to assume the worst, but the pattern became difficult to ignore. Last night, things escalated. We were sitting at the bar, ordered food, and took it outside to the patio. Before we went outside, security specifically reminded us to make sure we paid our tab before leaving. We did exactly that and paid our tab before we left the building. As we were walking out, the same security personnel came rushing after us insisting that we needed to pay. We explained that the tab had already been paid, but instead of simply verifying it with the bartender or checking the register, the situation escalated. My friend was physically pushed by security, and what followed became an extremely serious and dangerous confrontation. What bothers me most is that this could have been handled so easily. If there was a question about our tab, simply check the payment. There was absolutely no reason for the situation to become physical. I'm not going to label the experience as racism simply because we felt singled out, nor am I going to make an accusation of homophobia that I can't definitively prove. However, we are two gay Black men, and the repeated scrutiny and aggressive treatment from certain security personnel has made us question whether our presence is genuinely welcome. I want to emphasize that some of the bartenders have always been kind to us, which makes this even more frustrating. My issue is specifically with the way certain security personnel are interacting with customers. Management should seriously review how their security staff are trained to approach and de-escalate situations. Customers should not leave a neighborhood bar feeling watched, targeted, or physically unsafe. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because we genuinely enjoyed coming here before this experience.

This is because Kaitlyn is a great bartender. Attentive. The bathrooms are clean. They are still cramped but that's the space constraints not fault of Katie's. The floors are not greasy and slippery. After waiting about 3 minutes at the bar, she approached me and rudely asked if I had been sitting by the pool tables. I replied and said "yes I'm sitting near the pool tables" and she responded rudely again and said she couldn't take my order and the server sitting in my section would take it. I had told her "okay, well I have been sitting here for a while waiting to be served and I wanted to order a drink" and she responded and said "well we didn't see you over there, go back to your table and I'll get your server" The server named Dom, took my order and I asked him for her name since he either saw/heard what happened. Bless his heart for trying to rectify the situation by bringing the food out quickly and being more pleasant. What makes the story worse, is that this bartender (after she yelled at me) went back to the pool tables where we were sitting to take away plates for another table she had already served and they were sitting one table over from us. The food and drink prices were pretty reasonable. Food quality is pretty average for bar food. You know how it is. Nothing of the extreme spectrum of gross or amazing, just right in the middle. I have a receipt from three years ago because I wanted to remember certain drinks that was ordered. Well... The Irish car bombs for instance has not increased in price: $7.50. I can't believe some of their prices haven't changed in years. But their drink selection has all sort of types and prices. As we approached the place on this rainy Friday afternoon, I noticed there was a small shared parking lot up front and a sign pointing to the rear for additional parking. I was lucky enough to find a spot on the far end of the lot in front. We took the short walk over, cut through the side covered patio and entered. It was what I expected, feeling like a dark Dive Bar (in a good way). We saw a sign that said "Seat Yourself", so Wifey picked a high top close to the wall of beer taps. As I sat down a smile came across my face because of all the choices they had available. We sat there a few minutes and then our server, Alyssa, arrived with menus. She greeted us warmly and gave us a minute to look over their extensive extensive beer selection. By the time she returned we asked if they did flights. They did not, but she said we could get three samples for the table. Wifey picked two and I ordered one Three Taverns stout called Slay the Psychonut. Our beers arrived and Alyssa informed me that my glass was the last in the keg, so it was free. I never heard that rule before and she also said she would swap it out for me if I didn't like it. Initially, I said I am gonna keep my free beer but as I kept drinking it, it tasted a little flat and I swapped it out for another beer from Parrish. Soon after, the food came out and looked OK. We started digging in and my sandwich was good but the tots tasted like old frozen tots and were not crunchy at all. Wifely enjoyed her Chicken Spinach sandwich and sweet potato fries. I stole one of the fries and they were not crunchy either. Overall, I enjoyed my 1st visit to Summits. The extensive beer selection and the friendly, attentive service we received from Alyssa were the highlights. Her service bumped my rating up from a 3.5 to a solid 4.
