Here's what transpired: I had $1,800 worth of work done on my vehicle, and when I picked it up, I noticed a whistling noise that wasn't there before. When I inquired with the front desk lady--who had an attitude from the start--she quickly became defensive. They later found that the new power steering pump they installed was defective, but instead of an apology, all I received was a statement that they would need to warranty and replace it. Today, when I returned to pick up my vehicle, I noticed a rattling noise that both mechanics attributed to fluid on the belt, which was caused by their work. When I mentioned this to the same front desk lady, she insisted the noise had always been present, completely unaware that the mechanics had already explained the situation to me--one even mentioned he knew it would be an issue. Since it wasn't my fault, I suggested I would buy the belt myself and asked if they could install it for free since they caused the fluid issue. Unsurprisingly, her rude response was that they wouldn't do anything for free, and she hurried off to find someone to address my concerns. When she returned, she stated that they would install the belt for free but would no longer work on my truck. At that moment, I decided to take my business elsewhere. I don't even need them to replace the belt for free; their attitude and lack of customer service were unacceptable. It's important to note that I had previously had them replace a valve cover on my Nissan and was completely satisfied. Today, before this issue had occurred, I inquired about repairs for my Ford Expedition. This place will never get my business again, and she really needs to work on her attitude--understanding that repeat customers and positive word-of-mouth are vital for success.

I took the vehicle to a different shop in Greensboro and they were unable to look at it for some reason. While the first shop didn't charge me because they didn't find anything wrong, I am glad to have broken down again because I think that this shop has treated my vehicle like their own. Here at Total Diesel Repair, they called me back within 30 minutes of me leaving a voicemail at 8am. They got me worked in even though they were short two technicians today. They took my problems seriously even though I happen to not know much about vehicles. I described the problem and then they were able to look at it right away and tell me what the parts did and why it was not working properly. They treated my vehicle like it was their own personal vehicle. Right now I'm still in the waiting room because I've been traveling and I have nowhere else to go. They have provided excellent customer service during my time here. I'm hoping for the vehicle to be fixed today but in the off chance it isn't ready, I don't mind to wait even though I'm from out of state and have to find lodging for the evening. I feel very confident that they're getting the job done right and I'm glad I've chosen them to work on my school bus.
