My family and I recently moved on island and needed to find a new pediatric dentist for my two little ones. Calling ToothBuds to confirm if they were in network and set up appointments was very quick and easy. This week we had the pleasure of going to our first appointment. The location was easy to find and there are 3 designated parking spots to park. There's stairs and an elevator to take you to the ToothBuds office. The lobby area and office as a whole is extremely kid friendly. There's games to play with for a wide age range in the lobby. There were TVs playing kid movies while dental cleanings were taking place. The walls had different recognizable characters that my daughter immediately identified and made her feel comfortable. The best part of this experience was the attention to making sure my oldest understood what was going on and felt comfortable with what was being done. Linda is the dental hygienist who assisted us and she explained every single thing and every tool to my daughter, and I felt that that made the experience so much better for her. We take both our kids here for their cleanings. Kids love it as the waiting room has a bunch of toys and videogames they can play to pass the time. The dental rooms are super bright and colorful with decals of different cartoon characters on the walls. All the staff is super friendly and really talk to the kids well, making them feel comfortable and explaining everything they do every step of the way. Kids even get a gatchaball toy when their cleaning is done. Only complaint is the super limited and cramped parking down below. There's an attendant, but they're usually less than helpful when trying to park into their incredibly tight spaces. All our friends go to this dentist for their keiki. Parking is free, but limited and small kine difficult in the lot. There are plenty of toys and activities in the waiting room. First Timer!! My 2 year old needed to go to the dentist for her first cleaning and I was super nervous and dreaded taking her but with the help from the yelp squad I decided to take my daughter here and the high reviews did not disappoint! It took us 2 months to get her appointment in I'm assuming bc they are highly recommended and have so many clients. Parking was easy to find since it's underground assigned parking spots. It's also free. The waiting area kept my daughter amused for a while with the paintings and small activities. As we were walking in my daughter got very nervous and scared but the staff did a mini tour to help calmn her nerves. We sat down and the Dr. was very informative and explained what I should expect and it literally took 2 mins to do a quick brush, floss, and floride brush then she was done. My daughter did so well and kept her mouth wide open the entire time. After her cleaning they gave her a small goodie bag with a toothbrush, stickers, bath whale toy, and floss. My daughter absolutely loved it and since we've been home she loves to brush her teeth and floss now. We love this place and can't wait to come back for her nex5 appointment in 6 months!!! read more

We've been coming here for a few years now, right before Dr Chris left and Dr Goto took over. The environment is very welcoming, kind, professional, and most importantly, assuring. My kid is an over-thinker and he tends to scare himself about getting shots, which is inevitable if one doesn't take care of one's teeth and cavities form, right? So naturally he had a few. What I appreciate most about Dr Goto is that he is not aggressive with fixing cavities on milk teeth but rather they will monitor to make sure the cavities don't go out of control. Which makes sense and also I don't have to drop $$ on something that's gonna fall out anyway. However we did have to do a couple of fillings. (I think they only have white fillings, no silver.) The kid barely fussed! I'm sure the Disney movies help distract him. But I think mostly it's coz Dr Goto and his team are so nice and encouraging. Usually I let him go in himself and I hang out in the wait room. This last time I was allowed to go in the cleaning area to observe. Everything is five stars! The only issue I have is the parking situation. There are three tenants in the building sharing the little parking lot and parking can get stressful. I just wanted to say how disaapointed I am with the garabage customer service I just got. I got an email explaining that they will stop taking Medquest patients effective July. I got call back and this woman lies to me and tells me they "might not have an available spot in the next 2 months so best to find another Dentist." It's March... July is 5 months away. Dr. Goto and his original staff has been awesome, no doubt. Since he expanded and brought in new dentists, this office has been declining. Dr. Goto was able to do procedures with ease to my younger iffy kids, but the new ones couldn't handle so they just put off the needed procedure and just mitigate the issues. Can I come here for my dental appointments?! This place is amazing. I was genuinely scared for my child's first-ever dentist appointment. Visions of having to physically restrain a toddler resistant to a stranger poking at his teeth filled my head in anticipation of the day. But, teeth are important, so it had to be done. On arrival, we stepped into a space designed to comfort their young patients -- this doesn't look or feel like a normal doctor's office. First, we had a quick tour en route to the exam room. Children two or three and under are examined in private rooms, where a communal room serves older children more understanding of what's going on. A nice accommodation for the very little ones. Auntie Rachel, the hygienist for our appointment, started by calmly and clearly explaining their approach to toddler dentistry, focused on setting the base now for a life of positive dental experiences. Amazing. She introduced my son to each of the instruments she would be using, proceeding only with his approval. The dentist took the same exact approach. A clean bill of health (parental self-five for successful brushing on our part!), some tips moving forward, and we were on our way. No tears, no stress, just smiles and clean teeth. What stands out most is their approach and their patience with their tiny patients. So few doctors seem to have the necessary bedside manner and care to explain clearly what's going on. Diamond Head makes it look easy, and it isn't. Thanks so much for creating such a perfect environment for one of the most important aspects of anyone's life -- clean and healthy teeth! read more

A few months ago I got the sad news that they will no longer take my daughters insurance. Unless I'm willing to pay out of pocket. As much as I'm heart broken and really love this place I decided that I'll find another dental for my daughter. This place is the best! They had always made my daughter feel very comfortable. She's never afraid to go in and even gets excited to get her teeth check. The only down side is that they are so booked that sometimes you'll have to wait months and months for an appointment.
