The owner seems like she honestly cares about the animals but she disregards many employee concerns. It is not an ideal place to work. Employees are often not communicated with until last minute about staying beyond their designated shift and they are asked to perform tasks well outside of their hired job description. For example, incubating and raising ducks and chickens inside the bathroom of the business. This also led to the heat lamp blowing from being left on all the time, and causing a small fire that was thankfully caught by another employee before it caused any damage to people, the dogs or the building. The ducks and chickens remained even after. The entire bathroom was virtually unusable as the ducks and chickens were allowed to roam around defecating on the floor.

She was rehomed to us by a woman who could no longer keep her. Roxy;s first lesson was to learn how to walk properly without distraction. our first lesson went well and Roxy responded well. Can't wait till our next lesson with Kassandre. She gave us homework to practice using her new training collar and leash and I'm sure Roxy will do well under Kassandre's tutelage!

I was weepy, because my toddler and puppy were being separated for the first time - Denise reassured us, and said text anytime! We got pictures and updates our whole trip, and when our pick up time had to be moved because we got stuck in traffic, it wasn't a big deal. The little boarding report card was adorable, and because our pup has nervous/excitement pees, Denise referred us to a trainer/dog psychologist that might be able to help. Our other dogs, boarded other places, have come home with cuts, ticks, smelling bad, or almost all the food we sent - this is the first time we haven't had anything to remedy once we got home. Jessica came to our house before the trip and we were able to show her everything she needed to know to care for our cats. We received a detailed description of the visit every day as well as photos of our cats. Several of them are literally some of the best photos we have of them! Although we already liked Jessica, what really made her stand out is when there was a large snow storm. Our tenant was supposed to shovel for us, but his car broke down and he couldn't even make it home that night. We told Jessica about the situation and that our cats would be ok for a day. She said she would be fine, came by anyhow, climbed her way through over a foot of snow, and then brushed it off saying it was not a problem and we shouldn't worry about it. Now, that is dedication! I'm so glad we have found Jessica/Empire Pet Care and will no longer worry about traveling and leaving our babies behind.
