My hair was once a lustrous and lively strawberry blonde, but last year it went through many stages of muddy red brown to cover the other badly home colored box dye damage. The DIY highlight kit burned my hair, so I colored over it. Nothing could revive my hair fails. Eventually once we were out of lockdown and salons opened, I was reluctant to go to a salon. Meanwhile, I'd lurk on my former stylist's Instagram feed and feel sorry for myself and my sad sad hair. Eventually I went to a salon and got it colored to a decent coppery color, but the stylist and I didn't quite click. Where to go next? So that's when I found Jamie's Hair and met Shayna. The first thing she did was ask for a bunch of photos before our appointment. I sent a bunch, including a photo of me at 10 years old. Oh how I wished my hair was the same as it was when I was 10. Well, Shayna worked some magic with color, highlights, and cut, and WHOA! I felt like I was back to my 10 year old self. So happy!!! My second appointment was as wonderful as the first-- we did a keratin treatment and trim. Words cannot describe how happy I am with my hair! Yes, she cut the hair dry but she also ran her fingers through the curls breaking them up and then pulled the hair straight and cut it straight across. My daughters hair came out uneven and shorter than she wanted it. Also, she does not wash and style the hair. I was informed AFTER THE CUT that those things were a la carte. WTF?!?!? She applied a spray mixture of conditioner and water and NOTHING else. I will admit she was a good conversationalist to my daughter but I was not paying for conversation. She did a blunt cut on my daughter's hair not what we requested. I even showed her a picture and then AFTER she cut it, she said my daughter's hair wouldn't look the same as the picture. I'm not sure why she didn't say that prior. She was on her phone multiple times while cutting my five year old's hair. My daughter started to lose patience with the process. So for a hair cut and blow dry she charged me $68 plus the tip. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this salon, it's a bit too expensive and not that friendly to children. Overall, we felt uncomfortable.
